*'Sanctuary' for Us *

Roger de Blythe sensed the concern from Isis and knew Mel was trying to understand what was happening. Sensing his world falling apart he addressed both of them but none of them. It sounded like the ramblings of a madman. “I lost my daughter … had no means of saving her … I swore no baby should die … no parent be heart broken on losing a child”.

As he spoke Ashley gave out another scream as she suffered death but stayed alive. With tears of blood streaming down his face de Blythe continued “It was never meant to be like this. We were to conquer death, save children, and give the world eternal life.” Ashley screamed again and de Blythe shouted from the top of his voice “WHAT HAVE I DONE?”

Isis

She snarled more but only briefly as she looked first to Mel...

Watch her...

Within a couple of steps Isis was standing in front of him a hand closing around his throat if anything just to shut him up. Eyes as cold as a grave as she fought her own desire to rend this being limb from limb for what he had done to Ashley. Instead a calmer more calculated almost cruel tone came from her.

You can cry... and die... or you can fix this vampire... choice is yours...

Her hand relaxed enough for him to speak though she still maintained her grip. Perhaps he could kill her but she really did not care at this point... Little cub was hurting... in pain... dying and she could not fix it but she could make damn sure he did or paid for causing it. Combative senses seeming to keep her will informed on any action Mel made as well.

de Blythe shook his head despite the grip Icis had on him. "Don't you realise what this means? You can kill me, rip me apart but my component parts will just gather back together anbd life will be restored".*

Turning to Mel he said slowly "Maybe ... maybe you can help. Ashley once shared a body with Melaven. Perhaps ..." He turneed to Icis "You want to save 'Little Cub'?" Icis nodded "So do I" As he spoke Ashley screamed, died and returned to life again. "Then let me go ... NOW!" Icis released her grip and de Blythe moved to hold Mel "You came from Ashley, your very being is owed to her." Mel nodded as de Blythe grabbed a needle and rendered her unconcious. He did the same to Ashley then bit into his own wrist and held the open wound against her mouth before doing the same to Mel.*

Putting himself into a trance he astrally worked with the essence oif both girls. How long he was out for he didn't know but as he regained conciousness so did Mel. "There I've done it" he said. "Ashley and Mel share a body until I can recreate a body for Ashley". Turning to Icis he said he said "LET'S GO!"

Leaving the now still clone of Ashley no one saw who had taken over control of it. If they had they would have known their troubles were only just beginning.*

Isis

She did not like this at all this now meant she had to take De Blythe and Mel to the new home. That to her was a security risk of the highest physical extreme. Snarling she nodded though.

Remember... I do not trust you and repeatedly getting to kill you might just be worth it.

She led the way out the same being keeping their path clear for them. Isis tried to telepathically talk to Helen.

Incoming situation with Ashley is bad unfortunately having to bring De Blythe to the new Sanctuary... He has given me more reason NOT to trust him... With what I saw of Little cub and his too busy boo hooing over it than fixing it. We will be there shortly.

Adam Worth and Imogean

Waking Adam looked around and seeing the design and the energies of the room he was in he cursed under his breath... How in the demented hells did Praxis find me again. He hissed as he slowly sat up seeing Imogean staring at what appeared to be a tv with American football on the screen. She turned with a confused smile as she pointed to the tv

Is this what has become of war father? Simply choosing an elite few and letting them fight to solve the problem?

He chuckled...

No my girl that is a sport... a game from another country... they have many many groups like that who play that game... they call it football.

Imogean shrugged and went back to staring at it. Noticing the women dancing around on the sidelines she was confused but then she remembered something else to show her father. Moving to a small panal on the wall she touched it and the wall that housed the screen seemed to fade to reveal a massive bookshelf. Again making Worth wonder if they were imprisoned in Praxis again.

A PLACE BETWEEN THE WORLD WE EXPERIENCE WITH CORPOREAL FORM
AND THE AFTERLIFE:

Her consciousness designed this environment where she now existed and it was ever changing, evolving with her as her emotions, her mind, also grew and changed constantly. It was only after what felt like a considerable amount of confusion, struggle, then acceptance, exploration and joy that she finally felt the need to reach out to others and that was when HE appeared to her for the first time.

HE had no name until she gave him one. HE appeared to her in many forms but the one she liked best was when HE looked most human, tall, muscular body beneath gossamer shining fabric as light and fluid as liquid silk as it flowed over him, accentuating the tone and curves of him beneath the fabric almost too tantalizingly for such a wholesomely good woman... Shining auburn curls atop his head, a face, strong-jawed and masculine, with creamy white, slightly scruffed, though unblemished, skin, and eyes bluer than sky with a light within those irises almost hypnotic when their gazes lingered longer than she meant them to...

HE wore wings for her in this form. Wings like those of Seraphim in heavenly themed artworks of her own human times...She knew HE didn't really look like this but HE knew she found this form pleasing and it was the closest to what she imagined his purpose to be in her existence therefore HE kept it up for her sake.

At first when HE appeared to her it was when she was at her loneliest, so long ago, she felt...It was difficult to judge time where it didn't exist. She'd been looking out through a window she'd created. This window showed her what was happening to her loved ones left behind, the poor bastards still rotting alive in their meat suits known as bodies. Patricia had looked down on her daughter and wept as she watched her grow up without her mother's guidance, growing into a lovely yet strong willed woman who was dangerously intelligent and very headstrong.
She saw her husband, her Gregory, at first suffer through pining away for his Patricia, then slowly go back to his obsessions and passions, his research, his work...and finally she could see what he had never told her, what his work was truly about. She was shocked and dismayed when he included their Helen in this dangerous work and passed the torch onto her as well.

Patricia wept as she saw a door close shut for Helen, a door which would have one day led her to Patricia...Helen took vampire blood, immortal blood, into her system and became something other than human. This locked her out of Patricia's realm possibly forever. This form of immortality, locked forever there on Earth in a false human shell...Patricia pined like never before as she realized she'd never be reunited with her daughter, her baby, ever again...and then HE came to her.

...Swooping low to take her up into his arms (or the illusion of arms in the illusionary form HE'd created based on her own illusion of body and form and the images HE'd gathered from her thoughts and memories) HE swooped low, rose high and his wings spread wide like she had always imagined true angel's wings would as HE flew with her in his embrace, higher, and higher. There was no feeling like this on Earth. This was true ecstasy (something even more pleasurable than the best sex yet much more pure and intimate than such acts although Patricia was shamed to let her thinking over this joy stray in that direction). She felt almost guilty for sharing this feeling and these flights unabashedly with a male companion who wasn't her Gregory. Silly, really, to feel guilt over ethereal delights when she was no longer a part of the living world enough to suffer their judgement any longer. She couldn't stop herself from enjoying the flights her angel took her on. HE spared nothing in making her happy and laughter and joy filled her existence once more because of him.

Soon in their flights ever higher, the tapestry of her own scenery unfurled and she was mixed up in his as well... HE seemed to have a better understanding of what it was to be non-living, a purely energy entity. HE'd been one as long as HE could remember, HE'd explained, possibly since the beginning of time. But, HE too was very lonely and when HE heard and felt Patricia weeping over what had been lost in the corporeal world HE couldn't stand it any longer. HE felt jealous and hurt that she didn't seem to love him the way HE loved her. HE became obsessed and told her so very often. HE had to have her. HE had to make her a part of his realm.

HE'd taught her much in their time together. She loved him as much as a friend and teacher as a fellow energy being but she had a sense there was more to him than what HE let her see or experience and sometimes his secrecy and intensity frightened her, although she never admitted it to him outright.

HE taught her a useful way to interact with the living through the windows she'd created, that some very special ones would sometimes hear or see the non-living and she could help humanity in lots of little ways by interacting with these special ones in particular.

Often she returned to her pining, though, always saddened by the distance she felt from her very own family. HE had shown her a way to cope. The little one, a descendent of Gregory, clever little girl who reminded Patricia so much of Helen it made her ache to even look at her sometimes...This little girl was very special and could very easily communicate with her. This led Patricia to become quite attached to her very quickly. She began to watch Lucy's window exclusively after a while, becoming, in essence, her Spirit Guide, with HIM, the one who guided Patricia, her loving admirer and keeper, as a sort of Guardian Angel for them both. He advised Patricia and she used his wisdom to help her advise little Lucy. Only, the more Patricia wanted to interact in the world of her living family and their loved ones the more she got a sense HE was actually jealous of Patricia's love for them. There was more than one occasion she had difficulty keeping her windows open and she wondered if it was his doing. Was his will stronger than hers even in her own realm?

More often than not, these most recent ''days'' Patricia was communicating with Lucy only when HE wasn't nearby to overhear or see (even though she knew HE would find out anyway. HE was fairly omnipotent and saw much.) and they often argued over her interactions with the humans. Patricia was scolded and told she was ''Too emotionally involved.'' or threatened that the others would suffer more for her attention than if she would just leave them alone.

HE wanted her for himself alone but Patricia still couldn't bring herself to think of this angel as more than a good friend and mentor. The rift between them was growing and she felt torn.

As Lucy now ventured into unsafe places more and more and met strange people Patricia felt she was needed by them more than ever. But, how could she keep HIM happy as well?

Lyda

Meditating allowing the sounds of water and Sally to aid her in trying to reset her mind. It seemed to take forever to do so. Maybe it was because she in some way knew that the earthquake was not one of Dr Abbyn's tests... how could it be she was dead. Still it had been real as well as all of the aftershocks. Sally tapped at the glass and tilted her head watching her with a calming smile. Lyda looked to her and talked to her but really to just sort out her mind as well.

I really don't understand... Why she... Dr Abbyn... would put anyone through all of the tests and tortures she did. I also don't understand how my mothers own people... would do what they did to her there are so few of them left that anyone knows about why try to shred the unborn offspring just because you do not like the fact that the father is a "plain" human.

Sally just listened watching Lyda and tried to send more calm to her. Finally feeling better Lyda stood smiling to her and waved as she left the room. Making her way back to her room she wanted to read that note she found in her room. Something had made her want to avoid reading it earlier but now that she was truly calm and centered she was hopefully ready. Returning to her room she moved to curl up in the overstuffed chair the note in her hand as she stared at the script written name... her name. opening the envelope she placed the envelope on the table and began to read...

My dear Lyda,

I write this sitting in what will be your room in the true Sanctuary. I know that you will find them or they will find you. Naomi your nanny/ caregiver is an old associate of mine, which leads me to why I am writing this letter. I write this to beg your forgiveness. I knew of your existence from the day the Cabal successfully reversed the calcification and gave you back to the world of the living. I was unable to completely save you from them but I did what I could to keep those around you who I could gain intel from. I had hoped when Dr Abbyn stole you that it would have given you a better life but I could not have been more wrong. Luckily Naomi was knowledgeable enough to get herself embedded into the daily workings of Dr Abbyn's private home and labs so that she could watch over and guide you.

When she told me of the tests and tortures I told her I knew that while it ripped me apart I knew that you would have to endure this situation to be able to rid the world of the evil that was Dr Abbyn but do not think that she acted alone. I know more of her ties with Adam Worth than even his crazed mind remembers. Never allow Helen nor the others to trust him ever. I hate that I could not do anything nor could those around me at the time to protect you from what happened. I know it does not make up for allowing such things to happen but I did make sure that no matter what you would be reunited with your family.

I do not deserve it and if Isis or Helen read this letter and know that I knew about you and let everything happen they may never forgive me but I do ask of you. Please forgive an old fool who sometimes thinks he knows best over everyone else? You will soon learn its a family trait that you have a double dose of. I only wish your father had not let a moment of weakness prevent him from following his hearts truest desire. Then again there are lots of things I wish your mother, Aunt, father, and uncles had done but that is of no import now. If you tell Helen or your mother anything from this letter tell your mother that I am sorry that I felt I knew best and when Patricia was dying kept them apart. I knew your mother would shift out of grief and feeling helpless to make her mother better and I knew that Patricia... I thought I knew that Patricia would not understand learning that a young girl she raised with Helen was not purely human. Again perhaps I was a fool but I was trying to protect everyone. I know that is a point of resentment within your mother against me. Tell her I am sorry.

Until we are to meet my drear Granddaughter,

With all my heart,

Your Grandfather

Gregory Magnus

She laid the letter on her lap and stared at it. Taking it all in she pondered his words about her mother and the unseen being that Aunt Helen had seemed to confirm as her mother that Lucy spoke to and what it said about her mother.

Mumbling to herself... Grandfather I do not think your Patricia really cared at all... perhaps you were the only one that did on a family... her being your child and family level. So many things seem off and my being trapped underground in them does not help.

The door to her room was open as she sat there... She had not opened it or maybe she had failed to close it but either way she had not even noticed it as she sat staring at the letter lost in thought about how this man she had never truly met had in some strange way been a fairly large force in her life.

Will
He walked into her room and saw her on the bed. Taking everything around him in and then observing her behaviour.
Seeming calm.
"Lyda, hey it's Will. How have you been adjusting to the new surrounding? Change can be tough for some of us."

Lyda

Torn from her thoughts she almost seemed to growl faintly... that annoyed look coming from her that had been seen so many times by those that got to work with her father before.

Will... Hey... Coming to grips with the fact that I am basically trapped down here now as those "trains" to get back to the surface are way too closed up for my likes... Learning more about the man who is Grandfather and his knowledge vs his lack of acting on that knowledge... its yeah a little much... Then to hear what that kid said that apparently "grandmother" said does not match anything Gregory said in this letter. How in the hell did he know that I would find all of you or that you all would find me?

She calmed some looking over at him with a sigh motioning to one of the chairs if he wanted to have a seat.

He sat and gauged her response. Looking to the outside world and now not wanting to go out.
"There are good things beyond the walls of this Sanctuary. You could explore that world you know."

Lyda

Will we are all stuck underground now The house I once called home one of the main ways in and out of here but that orb looking train is not a good place for me... I flipped out into my claustrophobia in a cavernous room bigger than that in the earthquake I can't get in that train/tram thing I am stuck underground... I can wander the grounds here and work in the different containment houses but beyond that this is it... I really don't see me getting back to the surface without being unconscious.

She sighed shaking her head.

I know its irrational especially with all the insane training and tests Dr Abbyn put me through that I always aced but still. conditions like Claustrophobia are seldom rational or tame. And quite frankly grandfather's letter did not help... He knew so much yet did... Nothing...

She held the letter out to him.

There is even stuff in there for mom and Aunt Helen

Will
Hmmm...gonna have to do a few hypnotherapy sessions.

He took the letter from her and opened it up.

He read over it quickly not wanting to really ruin his listening to her body language.
He refocused back on her and really paid attention hoping that she would let out more if he just was there.
"Well, there are ways of confronting your issue with confined spaces." Will said in a very nurturing tone.

Lyda

And what would that be... Medication... Metabolism burns through them too fast. Hypnosis... entertaining idea...

Now that we have gone through all of that what sort of fishing trip are you in here Will? Analyzing me like you did my mother and Worth? I have a better idea come out and ask me what you want like you would and I am sure you did with my father. Okay.

She smiled at him clearly reading his body language too as she shifted around to get a little more comfortable and stretch her legs out a little watching him.

He laughed a little.
"I'm sorry ...occupational hazard. But in all honesty, we should look at treating your issues with confined spaces.. But About all the other stuff, your dad...grandfather....tell me more about them from your perspective."

Lyda

Dad never got to know me... dead long before he found out about me. Grandfather knew about me from damn near day one but didn't tell anyone not even dad. I am sure there are countless reason like the imprisonment the kid talked about but how can you know what he said he knew about me in that letter and not do something... anything... tell Helen or Big Guy or Mom or Dad long ago and Druitt... Mr teleports wherever he wants whenever he wants

A PLACE BETWEEN THE WORLD WE EXPERIENCE WITH CORPOREAL FORM
AND THE AFTERLIFE:

She's mine. She's mine alone. I'm so close, so close to having all I desire if only...if only...How do I get her to part with those mindless animals of the plane of time constraint and rot? How do I express to her my immense need for her, my love and obsession with her, my need...I need her to love me back. I want her to want me as much as I want her...How to I show her she needs me too?

...The obsessive thoughts circled around in his conscious mind endlessly, subconsciously HE knew HE'd already formulated a plan. HE'd have his Patrica all to himself soon. HE knew HE could cut off the ties if HE timed himself well and showed care in how much HE revealed of himself at which points in her development. It was all coming along so well. She was nearly ready, nearly at the point where HE could reveal his true self to her...

''My darling one...My precious female wonder...where are you right now? Will you respond to your loving angel? Don't ignore me, My Sweet, let me see and hear you. My world is darkness and emptiness when you go away from me. Please, darling Patricia, my love, look away from the living for a few seconds to let me bask in your light...''

HE coaxed her away from her window, carefully, ever so careful. HE could tell she was protective of her relatives even now. So long after her passing yet she still had yet to cut those ties that bound her to them and HE knew he had to tread very lightly or else she might turn from him. HE could not stand to think of that. Oh, it hurt him so to have to share her with them,
THEY DIDN'T DESERVE HER!
But, how to make her see that? HE wasn't sure how to make her his and only his just yet and was hoping her interest would wane soon. HE would not, would NOT want to have to force her to love him...
No, HE wanted her to give of herself. It would be so much sweeter to not have to take what HE wanted. HE wanted Patricia to surrender completely.

In time, patience, patience...

Henry/Tesla
After Henry said pretty please with such a hint of regret Tesla grinned with pleasure as if he had just been given candy.
"Well my boy, don't worry, it won't hurt too bad. "He chuckled
He typed into the computer to unlock the passwords.
"There. All better. You have access now." He took a sip of the wonderful 1893 bottle of Chateaux Bordeau that this new sanctuary had.
As a concession he brought out another glass and poured a small amount into it and offered it to Henry.
"here you go. I know we don't often drink together but I must say this calls for a celebration. And no it's not me goading over the fact that I hacked the new sanctuary, just thought I'd extend a little olive branch and so no hard feelings?" Tesla raised his glass to meet henry's.

Henry
As he heard Tesla and watched him open the bottle and pour him a small amount of wine he wasn't fond of gestures of open friendship from this man. Although a genius he always had an agenda.
But it did look like he was making an effort and so he grabbed the glass and raised it and clanked Tesla's glass and awkwardly said "cheers" as he drank the wine and then said "Thank you."

Tesla nodded and watched as he put down the glass and headed back to his work area. "Ahh children, so easily mislead." He sighed with a grin of fun as he took Henry's glass and careful not to damage the fingerprints left behind he pulled out the digital fingerprint lifting machine he'd been working on and tested it out on the glass.
It scanned over the prints 5-10 times to get a good digital lift and then processed out the irregularities.
He drank the rest of the wine.
"Now the real fun begins." He mused.

Henry now back at his workstation logged into the mainframe and tidied it up after Tesla's intrusion. He didn't really alter any programs except the security protocols which were easy enough to reconfigure.
He finished transfering the old data he needed to fuse with the new mainframe which wasn't much and allowed it to recompile.

He wandered the grounds looking for his new place to sleep and found his new quarters were older in nature but in a sophisticated kind of way. He couldn't help but smile as it must've been the Magnus touch at decorating be it the daughter or the father. He started doing some tidying but then passed out on the bed and fell asleep.

((Taking partly on another character so an intro post for part of playing the demon as well. Halo will share the character with ya. RL threatening to get a little hectic but figure I can help with him))

HE had to be careful... not to lose her to those mindless apes... but HE also had to be careful of those felines... He could not aid his minion to make Druitt kill her. It had been bad enough with one of those creatures tugging at Patricia's heart but now there are two. The creature HE had posing as Isis father long ago could not kill her either... these creatures just didn't die... at least not easily. That was not the worst of the problem... The more HE was near Patricia and she near Lucy or the others the sooner one of those two beasts would sense HIS TRUE presence that would be the real problem.

As they flew he grumbled as if still thinking on something that "Worried" him about her.

You have tried to look in on that beast Gregory made you raise... Why would you care for such a monster? They knew what she was and never told you... now they accept the other demonic creature with open arms as well. I do not understand how they could do that to you. Why did he not just leave the beast in the cage she was in far from you and your family?

She had done good telling Lucy that Isis was just a "family friend" but HE knew those words had been for HIS benefit... HE had to get her to turn from her first but with this Isis having a child HE knew how much grandchildren meant to Patricia away so He had HIS work cut out for HIM.

Perhaps another minion could overtake that Worth ape again... No... If HE was going to achieve HIS goal HE would have to do this on HIS own.

Lyda

She sighed... he has been silent lately... especially since we have gotten here... shrugging she pulled her knees to her chin. In fact without Worth or Grandfather chiming in in my mind its a little too quiet at times.

She laughed a little hearing how insane that sounded.

Will

He laughed with her understanding her feelings.
"Don't worry. A lot of people are going through some changes as well coming down here. But I wonder if you would like to talk with others ? Or do you feel more comfortable being on your own?"

What do you have in mind... the kid seems to be attaching to Dr Magnus... NIkola is who knows where... Henry is probably still working or with... Mom is on the surface... why is mom on the surface?

She shook her head. They all seem busy so who do you want me to talk to? If you need to get going Will thats fine... I... I should see what Grandfather is trying to say with what he is "not saying" Mom said that Grandfather was always full of mysteries when it came to any correspondence or gifts...

Will
She needs to be exposed to more social situations.
"I need to do some things around Sanctuary and was wondering if you could help me out some things."
He smiled as made the suggestion hoping she would come with him rather than stay in.

Lyda

She shrugged reaching to get the letter back she nodded.

Yeah I could help I guess... yeah... lets go.
