Say hey if you know me... or not.

Like they say, timing is everything. Yeah privacy I think is important obviously if you're in a high profile public serving job. Although sometimes I think there isn't enough "discreetness" which can take out the "romanticism" or the sense of adventure or discovery in relationships or in impromptu gatherings.
My man doesn't want to deal with other people's lives and the real emotions that go on, so he stays in story and pictureland.
I'm more... social and we've given each other the space to explore who we are away from each other. Even with this freedom I've only been with him for many years now simple because it hasn't been 'right' yet to be with anyone else.

Checking and catching-up with your thread G. Hope your first bi experience is beautiful. I will order a limo when i am up your way.

I will look forward to it. Will you be attached or should we attach another person. We will need to invite them!

Well if its just lunch in Sausalito I don't think we'd really want to cause a ruckus now would we? :D

Hey girl!! I don't know you, but it's always good to meet new people.
(Sorry for butting in like that)

Saying hey to the lovely San Francisky lady. Trying to do my best Gabby Hayes impression. I know. Didnt work. Guess because I have all my teeth. :D

Hi you guys! :rose: :rose:

Just got back from teaching my bellydance class after our city heritage festival meeting. I'll be representing The Voice of Roma next weekend educating and raising funds for the Gypsy people of Kosovo and surrounding areas who were badly affected by the war there and other things.

This carmel corn from Trader's Joes is too good darn it. Yuumm...

I'm heading for the outdoor jacuzzi. Better turn on the skeeto zapper.

*GZIIP!!* love that sound

Ah Trader Joes is one of my favorite places! Yee, gotta try that carmel corn!
Good luck on the "Gypsy people of Kosovo" fund drive! A very noble cause.

I think one of the pitfalls of the board is that there is so much general agreement on many issues, it doesn't lead to as much spirited discussion as we would get with a more diverse group of posters.

As a fag hag ;) ;) I'd like to see more discussion about the political and lifestyle issues that relate to the region that various homosexuals are living in. One friend of mine left NY and his true love because it was so different from growing up in the SF area. There really is much more tolerance here. Another man friend who has a suit n' tie career has found that he is getting more work by being out since companies want to fill 'quotas' or look more hip by having gay employees. He's also trying out for our famous Gay Men's Choir here, so fingers crossed.
The real Lesbian community is very strong here and pushing the spiritual envelope especially when it comes to raising children. More of them at that (GLBT) forum would be nice too. Out of four Kindregarten classes we had had two two-mommy families come to our Mother's Day luncheon and no one flinched a bit. At least not out loud. Teasing in the past was a big problem at our school in the higher grades when same-sex couples came to support their children.
Somehow I think that people who are out and comfortable have other sites to go to and have their fun. Trans and Bi lifestyles are a very big trend now, so it makes sense that they take up space.
It would be nice to see more stories about coming out and relationship gossip is always fun. Feel free to point me towards threads that might be more interesting.

Here in Central California. or "The Central San Joaquin Valley" is known as the agricultural center of California, Fresno. There's a predominantly conservative agri-business mentality and culture here. We're known as the Grape, Raisin & Cantaloupe Capital. We're also known as "The Gateway To The Sierras," as all roads lead to Sequoia, Kings Canyon & Yosemite National Parks. Very middle-class, family oriented city and a great place to raise a family. With this as a backdrop our gay community has been growing every year and becoming more visible, but not quite up to the speed and scale some of our larger cities. Like our Govenor, we also have a celebrity figure as our Mayor, actor Alan Autry, (best know for his role as "Bubba" in the TV series "In The Heat Of The Night." ('88-'95) which also starred Carroll O'Conner). More name dropping, CHER also went to the same high school I attended, (of course many years before I was there), and many other celebrities that come to hide here.

So, there is a little bit of Hollywood & notoriety sprinkled here and there. Unfortunately this has not really helped our GLBT community here. Visible tolerance and acceptance in an area such as this takes time and has been getting better and so I really can't complain too much.

Our 2005 Fresno Pride Parade & Festival is this Saturday (June 4). We have our little "bohemian" area called The Tower District, (Olive Ave.) where the Pride Parade is held every year and and is a street lined with coffee houses, bookstores, antiques, vintage record shops, head shops, etc. and is sort of our little S.F. or Santa Cruz. I will try to get some photos of the events this weekend and share with everybody.
More tales of the Valley later...

politics and sex

So why do you want to mix politics with sex ? It kinda kills the mood.

Bubba got the job eh? LOL! I love Santa Cruz; in fact we might retire there since my husband may invest in a boating business that is like the AAA of boaters. Good thing you have a nitchy spot for your parade.

So this could give away who I really am, but I was the MC for our Pagan Pride festival in Golden Gate Park a couple of years ago. What a trippy event that was. The Goth types were scaring the grannies walking their dogs I think. Not intentionally of course... they're just stupid ugly. The Gay Pride Pagans were really cool. Men witches ~ ooOOOoo... Anyway, its a trip to be on a stage in front of a couple of thousand people with the sound men flaggin' that they want me to kill time up there. We'd had the gays speak, the Berkeley radicals speak, the anti-war people speak, but then it was my turn. My choice was to take the Native American angle and speak for my people and it kind of shut everyone up there for bit. I have the look and named my tribe and spoke of American history a little and how Aboriginies are Pagans, Native South Americans are Pagans and so on. Then I reminded everyone to pick up all the crap they were leaving all over the ground... and they did.

so now you dont want to see sickness

Lock everyone in lepor colonies !so in your political world there is no sickness? that explains heath care.

Whoa... sig-quote city!

Everything is beautiful here but very windy.

Like my boobs? :D They won't last long since I change avs every couple of days. Even had my face up there for a bit.

Stay cool out there.

I know you; not terribly well, but we've interacted a bit. So, that's a "hey" I suppose.
