So far, I'm kind of liking these propane heaters I got. Two fireplaces and a couple of infrared wall units. Almost totally silent. No issues of hauling loads of wood (and insects) in and ash out. No electric usage like a furnace running a big blower fan. Keeping the house warm in single digit temps.
Not sure how hard the gas use is yet. I'll find that out Sunday when I take a weekly reading.

we were down there yesterday... the way the house has been constructed over time has left some pipes hard to get to and unlagged. One popped yesterday, despite everything and so we had to turn off the water. Fortunately we have many gallons of water stored for eventualities. H crawled under the house to investigate (yeah, we've had to get on a plumber's list) and saw the old fibre-glass insulation that was packed between the joists of the living room floor had largely fallen down over the years, enough for the cold to come right up... so that's another job we must rectify in the warmer months and it'll make a LOT of difference.

brown-headed cowbirds... not really noticed them before but could see they weren't starlings (not nearly so bulky, iridescent or loud and with a bill more similar to a finch or cardinal): today they were out in force to eat the seed we put out on the windowsill and so i went and looked them up. They lay their eggs in the nests of other birds and are viewed as the most likely cause for the large decrease in songbird population.
other birds to the sill are a mix of cardinals, robins, sparrows, bluetits and tufted tit mouses (meece?)

Warmer days, but not warm. March, April or October type stuff. Last thing you want to do in hot weather is be in a confined space with fiberglass.
This crawl space is inaccessible, no access and only about 15-16" high, so you can't get in there even if there was access. I wish I could blow hot air into it that would rise into the house, but they say that would be too costly.

Thinkin about how to loose some pounds I am so snack lover especially I am so in love with pringles but it is so high calorie food and I can not live withpot night snacks so thx gosh found an article with a nice list of healthy no carbs snacks https://betterme.world/articles/snacks-with-no-carbs/. What's on my mind is that I'm both entertained and annoyed at most of the men's responses to virtually any post by a female, especially a photo post. For one, it's like the guys have never met an attractive or sexy woman in real life. So any pic with breasts is the "most beautiful tits I've ever seen". Any headshot and you'd think the woman was Helen of Troy. The infantile responses to pics actually pisses me off for whatever reason. For example:

I must say, the responses to this thread have been very different from mine and completely at odds with what I anticipated. I expected sizzling scenarios where snow balls in hell would have had a much longer survival rate.
