Schools For New Mutants

Lucas

One of the guys that just walked up, Martin, is looking a bit sheepish. I'm not sure why. It's then I notice he's carrying some sort of receipt from a place called "Silicon Valley". This sparks some interest 'cause I've never really used a computer but have heard that for getting information, they're better than a library. Particularly the kind of information I've been wanting, something that might let me get a handle on Feniman.

I walk over to Martin and gesture at the receipt. "That's computer stuff, isn't it? You know a lot about computers? I've got a few questions about them."

Martin

Oh, he's talking to me.

"Uhh, yeah, I know a bit about computers. Mostly what I studied on my own. I don't know all that much but I'll try to answer any questions." My face had to have brightened when I started talking about my hobby. I smiled at Lucas.

"What'd ya want to know?"

Zoe

She could see the bookstore out of the corner of her eye. Well, everyone was standing around, talking about computers or music or something... it wouldn't hurt to run over real quick and have a gander at the selection of reading materal. She'd be back before they were through, for certain.

Zoe slipped away, and headed over towards the store.

Lucas

"Well, I've heard that over the internet, you can get information on pretty much anything. Libraries, groups with special interests, even government archives. Is that true? And if it is, what would I need to do that?"

OOC: Professor X is going to be a little quiet until Sunday

OOC: Everyone is doing a fantastic job interacting! Please continue to do so until Sunday, since at least one of your teacher-types is going to the beach for the week. :) I'll get back Saturday night, probably exhausted (at least I sincerely hope so) and will catch up with all the threads on Sunday.

Martin

"Info seeking, huh? Yes, the internet is a great tool but you oftentimes have to wade through mountains and mountains of useless info before you get to what you want. And any wrong turn can lead to sites with, well, you know, dirty stories or something. No one wants that." I tried to look completely sincere. I'm not sure if it worked.

"You'd need inernet access. And I can give you some of the most popular search places on the net. Then you just have to stumble across the right keywords to get you where you need to go. It takes some practice but I can help, if you want."

Wei-Fong Chan: Admiration

Wei-fong strode out of the boutique carrying her dress in a bag which seemed almost as expensive as its contents. The saleswoman had tried to suggest she might want to wear it, as everyone else was wearing clothes, but Wei-fong decided to keep it for special occassions. Besides, she liked being admired, and when she decided people around her would do so, any fears others felt turned into desire.

It didn't take her long to find the fountains in the mall. Her unerring sense of water drew her straight to it. Only a few groping hands slowed her down. As she stood in front of the waters, she smiled. They were already built to perform a simple dance across the small pool at the fountain base. It was a simple matter for her to make that more elaborate.

She raised her hands as two jets shot up from opposite sides and curled them around one another to form a twirling, twisting love-heart. This she then released in the form of birds, darting down into the water. Another slight twist as more water jetted into the air, and she made a helix, twisting around and up to the ceiling, before cascading down in another helical form within the first. Soon she was drawing a crowd, their amazement at her tricks and the powerful waves of passion and pleasure she was exuding overcoming every fear and repulsive thought they had at her appearance.

Rachel

OOC Rachel would have tried to stop Wei but IRL got in my way and I only checked the boards every other day. Sorry.

IC
Rachel dropped her guard after Ms.frost arrived and began trying on clothes and purchasing like it was an artform. She had just strolled out of one of the dressing rooms whenshe noticed Wei leaving in her current form and in the nude. Rachel didnt see Ms.Frost but she didnt want to assume that something was already being done. She handed the clerk the card and and raced out of the store. She scanned the area and saw Wei in a celebration of water in front of the fountain. Rachel raced over and began to sense a myriad of emotions from the patrons, some were amazed and thought it was a gimmick, others were afraid and considering calling for help. Rachel tried to control her powers and feed on the negative energies and boost the wonder and awe. If she could just hold it until Ms.Frost arrived she was sure either Ms.Frost would fix it or help them blast there way out of here.

Wei-fong Chan: The Offer

Wei-fong turned to see her new friend... Rache wasn't it... running through the crowd. She smiled in greeting and formed a handshake pattern with the water above her head.

"Hi," she said, "did you get something nice to wear?"

Before Rache could answer, Wei-fong noticed more of the men in the crowd had started staring at her friend than at her. That was no problem. While she enjoyed the attention, she was just as glad if her friend got it.

She giggled as a thought struck her. "Do you like it when the men stare at you, Rache? I can make them look even more if you want."

With that she arced the water into a mushroom over both their heads, holding its form in midair by doubling the water spray back to drop back down into the fountain. However, it was obvious that she could cause its direction to change at any moment. As she grinned she gazed at Rache's bodily curves, thinking just how much some men seemed to like women wearing wet clothing.

OOC: No need to apologize for being away - RL does that sometimes, it sure has to me. I waited a couple of days, but wanted to see if any of the others wanted to see what was happening and interact. Glad you made it back. :)

Lucas

I notice Martin trying to look innocent about the "dirty stories" and give him a grin to let him know that, well, yeah, you can't just spend all the time reading hard news.

"Yeah, I'd really appreciate that. I'm kind of interested in keeping up with news, national especially. Maybe doing a bit of reading up on the backgrounds and such. Particularly stories about how the feds are dealing with what they call the "mutant situation."

I'm about to ask more, when I hear something of a ruckus going on downstairs. Martin and I walk over to the rail and it seems to be coming from the area of the fountain. I wave the others over and we all watch for a moment before I clear my throat.

"Ah, that girl down there. The very nice looking and kinda unclothed one...is she part of your school?"

Rachel

Rachel smiled at Wei and was glad to see her friend was ok. She concentrated and tried to keep her powers up while remaining non chalant. Ms Frost hadnt gone into too much detail about Cai's/Wei's personalities and what causes them but she wanted to help her friend. Wei seemed to thrive on attention, she was so diffrent from Cai, she reminded Rachel of herself after a few to many drinks. Rachel kept absorbing the negative emotions in the area but more and more people were starting to notice. The strain was becoming burdensome and Rachel was considering saying 'hell with being the grown up' and jumping into the fountain herself.

please excuse the interruption

Have an idea about where to go with what is going on at the mall, please see the OOC: Schools for New Mutants thread and let me know if interested...thanks.

Wei-Fong Chan: Rain

Wei-Fong smiled at her friend, but was puzzled by her silence. She had expected her to say something in response to the question, but that was not to be. Instead, Rache seemed to be concentrating hard on something. Perhaps she, like Wei-fong herself, could affect people's emotions. Well, there did seem to be a lot of negative feeling about now. She had let her own manipulations die down, as she concentrated on making intricate forms with the water. Maybe it was time to change that.

She chuckled as she let the water flow overhead in two jets and fall onto both herself and Rache as delicate showers. This was an easy form to maintain, requiring virtually no attention at all. It also made it much easier to manipulate people's emotions to be lustful. Some immediately fell for her, some for Rache in her rapidly wetting, body-revealing clothes, and some for each other. Wei truly had no idea just how strongly a mob influenced by any single emotion acted - let alone lust...

Rachel

Rachel was so busy trying to control the negative emotions that when Wei warped there emotions into lust the influx in power came in such a rush it was almost intoxicating. Rachel laughed outloud accidentally and realized that all these feelings of lust were feeding her just as quickly if not more efficiently than rage. Rachel felt like she could fly and she spun in the make shift rain fall , Rachel was tired of being the responsible one. For a delicious moment she smiled wantonly at those beings who lusted for her form and basked in the power there emotions gave her.

Martin

"Yeah," I replied watching the two frolicking nymphs. "Well, the one with the wet clothes, yeah, the extremely *hot* one is Rachel. I don't think I've seen the other before. Though there are some strange things at my school, Lucas."

"We'd better get down there for a better vi... I mean, to offer assistance." I nod down to Vincent, indicating the fountain. "If there's ever a time to negate. I think it might be appreciated now." I head for the down escalater.

Zoe

Zoe emerged from the bookstore, laden with heavy tomes. Oh, so many different gems, so many classics... what with her new spending power, she'd found it impossible to resist.

Her attention was drawn to the commotion below. She looked up as Lucas and the other students passed by...

"What's going on?"

Vincent

Vincent slid down his shades long enough to get a look at who Lucas and Martin were talking about. It was certainly Rachel but the woman with her was NOT Cai. Vincent weighed the possibilities. and considered the facts. Ms.Frost had not intervened so perhaps this was a test. Rachel had acted in a big sister fashion to the young Cai, and now Rachel was with this water goddess. perhaps this water goddes was Cai in her mutant form. The onlookers are begining to crowd around the ladies in a hypnotic way. This could be bad.. Vincent considered Martins comment about negating powers and looked at the abandon with which the two ladies...frolicked, to just cut them off from there powers could be bad for them and for the crowd. Vincent was startled out of his thoughts by Zoe's question. He signaled Martin to wait up and turned his attention to Zoe.. "I realize this is a forward question but I get the feeling the that the way I was adapted physically you were adapted mentally. " Vincent tried to brief Zoe on his theories about the ladies and ask her if she had powers that could assist. He then turned to Lucas, "do you have an Psi's in your group, I think If we dont work together were gonna have a situation here."

Lucas

I'm watching the two girls in the fountain. They look like they are having a lot of fun. But even from here, I can hear murmmurs in the crowd that sound kind of foreboding. And can smell in their sweat that peculiar tang of lust that seems to be just this side of breaking into a riot.

"Yeah," I say to Vincent. "I think you're right."

A vague thought occurs to me, runs around the brain for about a minute, then stops for a breather.

"I think I might have an idea of how we can head off trouble without this scene getting ugly," I say and ask them to follow me back to the botique so I can snag Tara and Angel if we can find them. The idea is just crazy enough it might work, but the more of us pulling together on it, the more likely that will be.

On the way, I ask Vincent, Martin, and Zoe to give me some idea of their powers.

Vincent

Vincent leaned towards Joseph and whispered "I'm not sure where this is going but if this plan fails we may have to blast our way out of here keep wary, Ive been a hound and I dont want to think about what they can throw at us." Vincent turned to Zoe "Im pretty sure your about as comfortable talking about your powers as I am of swimming but our teamates need us." I turn to Lucas, "Im Invulnerable , weak as a kitten , feed on bio energies, mutant powers and the enviornment around me...oh and I play a mean axe."

Ms Frost had seen Wei go. She had almost stopped her then and there but something held her back. This was just the opportunity that she needed to give her students a test of how well they could cooperate as a team. In order for them to grow, she had to not coddle them. They would see where this led to.

Moving to where Rachael could not see her, she followed what was happening soley with her mind. She saw all that was going on and, to those around her, she was relaxed and simply looking on the continuing fashion show.

In reality, she was watching everything sharply and clearly in her mind and, as she followed each of the mutants that were in the mall, she brushed up on another power very similar to her own. He too was following what was going on.

Sending her thoughts to Xavier alone and sheilding them from any of the students who may have psi powers, she informed him of her intentions.

"I suggest we leave the young to their plans. It is a sound one and a peaceful one. That should make both of us happy and test thier teamwork and abilities at the same time. We can always come to the rescue if things get out of hand but I intend to see what they can come up with on their own."

Metaessence

Her powers...? He wanted to know about her powers...

She could very likely prattle on for hours about the intracacies of the human mind and what she had learned of it, the capacity of her essence and latent psionic powers.

However, it was improbable that anyone would be interested a long-winded speech. 'Short and Sweet' was likely to be more appreciated.

"I do lots of different things..." she said quietly. "But mostly, I can make things better. And sometimes... a lot worse."

She balled her fist, and then flicked her fingers out, as if imitating an explosion. "Kaboom..."

Lucas

I grin at Vincent's reply. "Hopefully, we won't have to fight our way out, so some of your other abilities will come in handy. Including playing your guitar."

"Zoe, I know you have some telepathic powers as well. Can you get messages to Professor Xavier and Ms. Frost? Any of the other students? There's one from our group, James Tao, who might be of some help. Might need to have you do some othere things as well."

I turn to Martin. "What's your powers?"

Wei-Fong Chan: Lust

The mob was becoming overwhelmed by the feelings washing over them. Already at least two couples had frozen in the middle of the throng and begun to french kiss, mauling each others bodies as though in the privacy of their own homes. Now a couple of people had come closer - close enough to reach out and touch.

Wei-fong began to dance, an untrained by nimble dance, for those nearest. First she slapped away a hand that reached out to caress her. Then she turned her back to the man who'd done it and shimmied her ass down over his groin, before pulling away. She took the hand of one of the women who was close by and drew her middle finger into her mouth, sucking with abandon before running the woman's hand down her belly to her foam-white bush.

She was barely aware of anything other than her audience as she fed on her own emotions and cast them out into the ocean of people around her.

OOC: Just wanted to keep the mob thing moving and build towards a climax... if you'll pardon the pun.

Professor X

Charles had been monitoring the escalating situation near the water fountain with increasing trepidation. It did not sit well with him to have to try to manipulate the memories of normal humans, except in emergencies. As he tried to come up with a way to resolve this situation, he felt the familiar thrill of Emma Frost's mental touch.

I suggest we leave the young to their plans. It is a sound one and a peaceful one. That should make both of us happy and test thier teamwork and abilities at the same time. We can always come to the rescue if things get out of hand but I intend to see what they can come up with on their own.

He opened his mind to her, and replied Very well, Emma. We'll continue to monitor them closely, and shield ourselves from those among them with telepathic abilities. They will have to rely on each other to get out of this mess. You're right. I did want to test them, but I fear this may be too much, too soon.

Martin - Powers

I watch the budding orgy on the first floor. "Woe. Cool. But if there was ever a time to 'make things better' it's now." I turn to Lucas. "Anything I do involves sleeping and is, as yet, umm.... unpredictable."

My euphemism is obvious.

"How about you and your group, Lucas?"
