"Totally by accident," I replied. "I was warm, and our air conditioning wasn't working, so I was thinking about ice, or ice cream, and this blue globe formed in my hands. I touched it to the chair, and the chair froze. My mom was really upset."

Since then, I've figured out how to do a lot of different ones.

"Cool," I murmured.

Couldn't help but giggle, just made a pun subconsciously.

"Sorry," I apologised as I recollected myself. I was glad I still had my sense of humour, even in such a strange place. Maybe it would be the only thing to keep me sane.

Everything happened pretty quickly. One second, I was wiping dirt off the girl's face, the next they were walking off, taking her to the mansion.

I stood there with the once white t-shirt in my hand, now almost brown with dirt, and soaking with sweat. The crowd moved along with the collapsed mutant while I just stood there disoriented at the gates.

I decided to follow the crowd, maybe find my room, and get things settled in my new home. I arrived at the mansion and asked people if they knew where the Professor was. "In the medical room with the girl that fainted outside," A kid in glasses told me. I thanked him and ran off.

Somewhere along the way I realized I had no idea where the medical room was. Luckily, there was a golden plaque outside each room, telling its name and purpose. I ran from room to room and finally found the nurse's office.

I peeked my head in and saw the girl on the bed, the Professor, and another mutant, I assumed, standing next to the professor. I opened the door and made my way in.

"Is she alright, Professor?" I asked.

Angel:

Somehow I felt his presence before he entered. He was another one of them I think.

Professor?! So the old man IS some big shot around here.

"Somebody please tell me what's going on in here?" I asked, addressing nobody in particular.

"Do I have to, Mom? Y-You know, I really feel all right. I haven't had *those* dreams in a while. Maybe I got over it."

"No!" she said roughly, her voice cracking with the stress, then she calmed herself. "You heard what that Director said. At her institute they can help you control and harnass your, ummm, Narcolepsy. Your father and I just want you to lead a more normal life."

My father was silent but the white outline of his knuckles as he gripped the steering wheel told me enough. I went back to watching the scenery roll by the car window as we sped down the street. This was rediculous! I was almost 19 and still my parents were running my life. I kept doodling though the bouncing of the car gave the creature more spikes on it's back than I wanted. I shuddered when I looked down at it. It was horrid! A spiked turtle shell with tentacles for digits. Giant mandibles were holding a car a third it's size. God, please don't let me dream this one, please. I crumple it up.

'Don't be silly.' they said to me when I offered to get a job to support myself through community college. 'What happens when you fall asleep on the job or in class again? Or worse, put others to sleep with you?'

*sigh* They were right. It started with the dreams. Not mine, other peoples'. I would join them in their dreams, just for fun, but always, their worst nightmares came out and I had to witness it. Then it got to where if I were daydreaming about it, no pun intended, then I'd fall asleep and so would people around me; just so we could all share a short stint into the hell created by collective minds. God, my Algebra class might have been there for hours had the next group of students not found us. It got worse when I would be asleep, but dreaming I were awake, things would happen for real from my dream. When I had that dream after watching "Night of the Living Dead" happened and that carnival was attacked by zombies. That was... please don't let that happen again.

I was getting sicker. If this woman, Ms. Frost could help me work it out and make it go away then maybe I could go on with my life. I hope so.

I shook my head from drifting into daydream and forced my eyes open wide just as the car pulled to a halt in front of a large iron gate. I hauled my suitcases out and took a moment for goodbyes. I tried to convince myself it was like going off to college. Yeah, just a normal person going off to a normal college.

"I'll write home soon." I said with forced chipperness but I was shaking when I walked up to the big double doors. Everyone I had passed was wearing sunglasses. Was this a Massachusettes thing?

Normal? Anything but!

OOC: Not a typical "baddie" and definately not as tough as the other students.

Emma Frost

As she moved toward the front door once again, Emma sensed the three that stood on the other side and she prepared herself by raising a mental shield before opening the door. She was not afraid of the possiblity of them attacking her but they had much potential and they could do something unintentional because they did not have the training to fully control their powers yet.

She was not afraid that they would harm her...more afraid that she might have to harm them and she did not want that. Smiling as she exited the front door, she greeted each of them in turn.

"Vincent, Joseph, so glad you could make it. It is very nice to see you again. Please come in and we will get you settled into your room right away." Mentally, she sent a message to Eddie. "It is alright, no one is here to hurt you. You are among your own and you are safe. You have my promise."

Moving to the door with an arm around Vincent and one around Joseph, she let Eddie pick his own time to follow. As the three moved up the stairs, she saw Chi...no, a slight probing told her that the girl was no longer in command of her body.

"Ahn-Dao," She greeted that personality with a warm smile,"I trust you find the room to your satisfaction. What can I do for you?"

Emma Frost

As we stood there waiting for the personality of Ahn-Dao to speak, I could sense a new arrival. Turning my head, I smiled at the young man standing in the door.

"Martin," I said, letting my voice carry the warmth he needed to hear to him,"It is wonderful that you made it. Come with us. We are assigning rooms right now and you are just in time to get to yours and get settled in."

"Uh.... Hi."

I managed a weak smile and wave. Then I realized how dorky I must've looked. I recognized Ms. (or Mrs. I wasn't sure) Frost immediately and looked to Vincent and Joseph She had just called to them before spotting me at the doorway.

They were both taller than my 5'5 frame. My sandy blond hair and brown eyes also set me apart from the other guys Ms. Frost had her arms around.

I dropped both suitcases when I saw the ghostlike woman before them on the stairs. She was just a swirling mass of air in a female form.

My jaw dropped as I stared at it/her.

This was so far far from normal.

Vincent/Parasite

Vincent scanned the area with a grim determination to not look like a giddy little school boy. Vincent was secretly thrilled. Ms.Frost was kind and treated us like guests. She was not only protecting us but she was looking forward to teaching us to protect ourselves. Everybody here had the same feeling of outcast and bore the same emotional scars of a world that would just as soon see us dead. But here...here he didnt feel like a slave or a hound..here he felt like one of the team. Vincent tried to compress his powers and his smile. He was pretty sure that his area of negation would not make him any friends so he lapsed into a deep concentration to control any such lapses. Vincent promised himself he would be a good student..if possible one of the best.

Ahn-Dao Chan: Seeking

Ahn-Dao looked from one person to another. She didn't recognize any of them. All, except Ms. Frost, were young men. Ms. Frost an older, though by no means old, woman. Either that meant this place was a whorehouse or a college. Unless the whorehouse had high-paying clients, it was unlikely to look so lavish. However, if this was a private college for the wealthy, that might explain it. Although, the men did not really look wealthy.

Whoever the woman was, she knew Ahn-Dao. At least, she knew her name. Ahn-Dao answered the question she asked. "You could tell me who you are, and where I am."

I turned back to the young woman at her inquiry. "My name is Emma Frost and I run the Massachussets Academy. It is a school for special people. Mainly those who have been outcasts and reviled due to differences that are no fault of their own."

"I offer a safe harbor and a means to understand whatever conflicts you are dealing with. That is all. I, myself, am one of those that have been in your position before and I simply wish to keep those like me away from the harm that others who do not understand would inflict upon them."

Since nobody decided to speak up, I stepped forward. "Well, you're in Professor Xavier's School for the 'Gifted'" I said, doing the quotes motion with my fingers. "I'm a mutant, the professor's a mutant, and I'm assuming this guy right here's a mutant, too.

"Anyway, as soon as I got here, the Professor told me that there was somebody at the gate that I had to go retrieve. So, I went out there with the Professor, and there you were, lying on the ground, sweating. Then, everybody brought you inside, and here you are..." I knew it wouldn't help much, but it did answer her question.

I stood at the door to the medical room. The professor and two others were in there with her already, so I stayed outside, knowing I couldn't really do anything to help and would just get in the way. But I had to make sure she was all right. What I had seen in her mind, about how she had ended up here... the people she was running from... It wasn't good.

Ahn-Dao Chan: Meeting

That fit in with her thinking. So, this was a school and she was a student of Ms. Frost. It sounded a little more than just a school though. "Safe harbor and a means to understand whatever conflicts you are dealing with." That made the place sound like a cross between a school and a psychological facility. Not that Ahn-Dao had many problems. Just the blackouts, but she had always managed to deal with that. How she had known Ahn-Dao's name was still a mystery, but one which would have to be dealt with later - in private. That just left the others.

"These men, I presume, are other students. Are they new, like me, or can you introduce us to one another Ms. Frost?"

How is this for an Intro- Nemesis

As the hospital van made it's way to the Massachuets Academy I think back on the that fateful night three weeks ago.

It was a Monday night and high school was finally over for me. I thought about my future, college and most important how am I gonna get centerfold worthy Sheila Synch into the back seat of my car.

As me and Sheila walked out of the club the graduation party took place at, I saw several guys from the high school who didn't exactly like my kind. After all I had no qualms about show off my mutant abilities. I saw my telepathic and telekinetic abilities as a gift from God. While that was my belief, several of my classmates got a serious attack of the green-eyed monster and saw my gift as cheating. They claimed that the reason I was so good was not because of my own intelligence but instead my skills came from the fact that I was just in their terms "a fucking mutie."
With that in mind I did my best to steer Sheila and myself in the opposite direction rather than staying there and getting lynched. At least that is what I heart they were trying to do to mutants in other places. However I guess Sheila and myself did not get far enough from those assholes, because after trying to cut through an alley they spotted us. I told Sheila to run while I dealt with them. Looking at the spare parts in the alley I constructed a crude sort of knife and shield from the scrap metal by the dumpster. Bracing myself for a fight I managed to get by the first two guys but my shield by then was on it's way to being toast. The third guy managed to knock the knife out of my hand, but his short victory did not last long as I slammed him against the wall as hard as I could. With his friends incapacitated the last guy stood at the other end of the alley, smiled, and snapped his fingers. Like a call of the wild several thug came pouring out on both sides of the alley. I knew I was set up and I knew that this could be one of those lynchings I heard about. Bracing myself I thought to tried to create a telekinetic shield, but I was overpowered and beaten within an inch of my life.
I was choked, thrown and thrashed worst than I had ever imagined. While a few guy grabbed my arms, the leader whose name was Scar Allen lifted my head up by my short hair and said "Hey Mutie, I guess your smart ass is probably wondering where all these gentlemen came from and how I set you up. Well, guess what freak, I can't take all the credit for this allow me to introduce my partner." And that was when all the pain tripled as I saw the buxom gorgeous frame of Sheila Synch walk over to scar and embraced him in a lip lock. My powers flame out of control I managed to knock away several of my attackers as I rose to my feet at began to stalk that whore however I was hit in the back of the head with the butt of shotgun. When I rolled over to see my attacker, I saw scar stand over my body with the gun at point blank range. With the venom dripping from his voice he said "Good night mutie. Tell Elvis I said Hi." Just as hit finger began to squeeze the trigger the gun was knocked out his hand.
By then I was pretty much out of it but I did see something weird I saw one man dissemble the army that attacked me. His movement were artistic and graceful, his attack was smooth and swift, yet wild and violent. As he laid to waste my attackers without mercy. He managed to lift me onto his back and continue fighting all the while moving closer and closer to the exit of the alley.
Once we were free, he quickly carried me over his shoulder to an unmarked truck. As I laid inside I was on the verge of blacking out and it was then when I saw this visage of a gorgeous woman decked out completely in white as the world began to fade for me.


When I awoke I found myself at a hospital in Cambridge Massacheuts with a invitation to come to Emma Frost's Massacheuts Academy. So here I am.

As the van pulls off I stand in front of the gate with the little luggage I have. As the wind blows through my recently shaven head I wonder would I see the stranger who saved my life here or is this just another dead end or set up by some twisted motherfucker with a thing against mutants.

"Vincent, Joseph, so glad you could make it. It is very nice to see you again. Please come in and we will get you settled into your room right away." Mentally, she sent a message to Eddie. "It is alright, no one is here to hurt you. You are among your own and you are safe. You have my promise."

For a moment I thought everyone had heard. Everyone on the planet because that voice seemed to come from everywhere. But noone turned to look. I was grateful of that. Telepathy, I realised. Ms Frost sounded almost as if she was expecting me, as if I was just answering some form of invitation.

I was beginning to wonder if perhaps I had. Three apparant students at least had arrived right ahead of me. They did not seem to know each other, had bags and everything. Now doesn't that strike anybody as a little strange??

I flipped on a pair of lennon-style glasses to hide my eyes. Put on my best grin, stepped away from the wall, and was almost hit by an ambulance screaching to a halt outside the gate. So much for cool.

I didn't wait to see what sort of freakshow emerged. I imagined something in the Hannibal vein. My leather coat a little spattered, and hauling my duffle bag, I strode up to the gate with as much suave as I could manage. Is suave a noun?

"I'm Eddie."

Angel:

I flashed all those present a really blank look. What?!? Maybe regaining my consciousness wasn't such a good idea. Then another one of them entered the room; I could sense him too.

Four of them in all, and counting. This placed seemed to be packed with these people. Then I recalled something about this being their school. Sort of. No wonder.

The Professor, and whatever he was called, was keeping real quiet. He seemed to be observing me closely, somewhat. I could sense his aura pressing deep into me.

I needed some fresh air, and a break from all these people. Well, not all of them anyway.

"Think I need to get some air, anyone game?" I start to get off the bed...

"You sure you're okay?" I asked. "Maybe I should walk with you, Angel..."

Angel:

"Sure, come on," I reached for the knob, but felt it turn even before I could get a grasp. Then I pull it open, though I wasn't sure if I even had it in my control. I was half-expecting someone to be on the other side of the door. Nobody.

I took a deep breath, and smiled. Weirder things happen, I kept reminding myself.

I turn back at the small crowd in the room.

"Come on and join us soon yea...er...Brad...Esper? And Professor you too..." Then I found myself in the corridor, with a strange feeling.

Hang on a minute. I was certain they didn't offer their names....

I was worried about her, but curious, nonetheless. I saw her open the door without touching the knob, and now saying names that I don't remember hearing yet. Kind of freaky.
Do you need more ice? I can make some more quite easily," I said.

Angel:

I just nodded absent-mindedly, not really hearing what Rainbow had said. I felt my mind really clouded; I needed to get out into the open fast.

Professor X

In a cultured, slightly British voice, Xavier addressed his new students, "Students, I welcome you all to my school. For the rest of the day, you have the liberty of the grounds after you settle in to your rooms. Ladies, please select whatever housing arrangements you wish from the west wing of the mansion; gentlemen, please do the same from the east wing. Be sure to get plenty of rest tonight... tomorrow, classes begin in earnest." He smiled at them all, and wheeled out of the room, sending a telepathic message to them all, "I'll be in my study, if anyone has any questions or concerns." Then, a private message to Angel, "I would like to ask you some questions, Angel, about your attackers. Would you please join me in the study at your earliest convience?"

Yup, once again forgotten... Not that it mattered much. Or that it really bothered me. It was simply a proven state of my nature. Oh well.

Tugging on my suitcase, I offer the Professor a smile of gratitude, my eyes widening only slightly when his telepathic voice enters my mind. The thought makes me smile a bit more. Perhaps, I'll take him up on his offer.

I head down the west wing, poking my head into each of the rooms before finally selecting one where each piece of furniture and outlay of the walls was done in oak. I always loved that wood.. soft, quiet. Kinda homey.

Claiming it for mine, I left my bags in the room, closed the door, and proceeded down another hall to the Professor's study.

He was sitting at a desk, looking quite grandfatherly, I might add, when I pushed open the door slowly. "Professor?"

Emma Frost

Emma nodded and indicated the young men on either side of her. "This is Vincent and Joseph. The young man that just entered is Eddie and the other gentleman that will be joining us shortly is Aenas. Everyone, this young lady is Ahn-Dao."

Not bothering to explain that this was only one personality of the young woman and figuring they would figure it out soon enough, she gave Vincent and Joseph a gentle push towards the stairs.

"Your bedrooms are upstair with your names beside them. I am sure that you can find them. Today simply get yourselves settled in and explore. Whatever you find in the facility is free for your use and my door is always open. The times for the dining hall are posted and snacks are available upon request."

Giving her students one last warm smile, she excused herself and went to her office to get ready for the following day. There was going to be alot of work involved in helping her students control their powers.

Nothing like a bit of excitement to start off the day! It seemed that the girl was ok so we were all dismissed to find room and unpack our stuff. I was a bit disappointed that the guys and girls were separated but I guess it was to be expected. I don't think the Professor wants any mini mutants running around trashing the place!

Making my way to the East wing I was astounded at the size of the rooms. They were huge! I don't think I've ever lived in such a large place in my life! It was a lot plusher than my house, that's for sure. I was beginning to think it wasn't such a bad choice to come here after all.

I unpacked all my stuff quickly, since I didn't really have that much apart from my clothes, my fighting gear, and a couple of family photos. The family photo went in my bedside table: I'll never forget my upbringings.

Getting restless, I decided to go outside and train since there was still some daylight. Putting on some loose clothes, I picked up my staff and went into the gardens to look for some open space.

I had managed to get a decent hold on my mutant ability since I discovered it. That is, I could stop it from going off most of the time, but I couldn't use it whenever I wanted to yet. My training has helped me a lot in controlling it; through discipline and lots and lots of time spent trashing places I managed a modicum of control.

Before long I found a decent spot, and after my usual warm up I went quickly into my routine.
