Schools For New Mutants

Emma Frost

Emma opened her eyes with a smile and looked upon Cai. She had a fleeting glimpse of her ex-assistant fleeing in the ambulance, the false image of his rampage back into the school and his confrontation with her firmly planted into his mind. He actually thought that it had taken place.

Looking around at the undisturbed school, she smiled again. It was the best thing to do. She would have had to kill him otherwise and she could have without any problem if she chose. She simply could not afford to have anything harm her students so she chose to give him the...false...impression that he had gotten the upper hand before he left.

Turning again to the young lady who was waiting for an answer, she said,"You are at my school the Massachusset's Academy. You and the other students are here because the world outside of these walls does not understand nor appreciate your specialness. While you are here you will learn many things besides the normal cirriculum of schools. Right now I do not think you are ready to learn just what that is. There are many things you must sort out for yourself before that time but I promise you, this is a safe place to do just that."

Martin

I felt a little better when Vincent put hie sunglasses back on. It was hard to admit to myself that his purple eyes just added to the surrealism of this whole Institute. But I did find hope in Vincent's words.
"Yeah, Director Frost can possibly help us all." that statement hung heavy in the air until I piped up a bit more cheerily, "Well, I don't think we have classes scheduled today and I saw in the brochures in our rooms that there is an indoor pool. Want to check it out?"

Cai Chan: Uncertainty

Cai stared at the ground and shuffled her feet. What did Ms. Frost mean by 'specialness'? She had never felt special in her life, and had certainly never been told she was special by anyone else. Weird, yes. Freaky, certainly. Special, no. And what things was she going to have to sort out for herself? She had no idea what Ms. Frost was getting at, but one thing she felt was certain. If Ms. Frost wanted her to know, she would have told her.

"I'm sorry, miss," Cai said. "I didn't mean to be rude. I-I think I'm lost. Can you tell me how to get back to my room?"

Vincent

OOC****** Still waiting to see if Sexyles is driving up or is she one of xaviers...***************

IC

Vincent tried not to smile at how 'normal' that sounded .."That sounds great actually....but...I cant swim... I dont drown however so lets go check it out.."

OOC**** Las chance for SL to make an entrance....

Emma Frost

Draping her arm around Cai, the headmistress walked down the hallway with her, talking in a soothing voice the whole time about nothing in particular but simply trying to put the girl at ease.

As they walked they passed Vincent and Martin. "Remember that we have orientation tomorrow morning," She called to them,"And spread the word to the other students."

Pausing before the girl's room, she smiled down at her and said,"Here it is, Cai. Is there anything else you need?"

Brad / Fallout

OOC: May seem like a useless post, but just letting everybody know I'm still involved, just waiting for an oppurtunity to do some acting.

IC: I woke up from my nap, groggy, and I had that after-nap disorientation. It took me a second to realize where I was, but then everything settled in. I smiled at the thought of having a roof over my head and stretched out. I hopped out of bed and walked over to the window. What a beautiful view of the terrace. I was definately accepting my new home, much better than the streets I was used to living on. I decided to check out the campus, see what there was to do, and maybe see if there was a pool.

I went to all the different places, classrooms, rec rooms, training rooms, etc... just so I could get an idea of where everything was. Then, I found the pool. I had always loved the water, no real reason, it was just really relaxing and ... erotic. I looked around, nobody that I could see, and I didn't want to swim in my clothes, so I slipped off my shirt and shorts. I took one more good luck around, shrugged, and slipped off my boxers. With that, I took a graceful dive into the pool.

OOC: Sorry Neale about adding a pool. Wasn't too positive if there would be one or not, but what's a huge mansion without a pool? :)

Martin Brumels

I nodded to Ms. Frost when she reminded us about orientation and we continued to our room. My eyes lingered a bit as she passed us by. A quiet voice wished she and I were going swimming together. She was really pretty.

With his sunglasses I couldn't tell if Vincent was looking at me or only facing in my direction. I hoped I wasn't blushing all the same.

"I have an extra pair of swim trunks and I can teach you some of the basics. if you'd like. I used to go swimming all the time until I was diagnosed with 'Sleeping Sickness' then my parents told me not to - afraid I might drown. Short swims aren't bad though. What was that about you *can't* drown?"

Vincent

Vincent bowed revrently to the founder of the school and as she passed he looked back at Martin..."Drownding???" Vincent paused long enough to consider his words and said.."I cant ...I've tried a couple times..."

Cai Chan

Cai simply shook her head when Ms. Frost asked if there was anything else she needed. Ms. Frost seemed very friendly, but friends were something Cai had never known before. It was almost unnerving to be treated kindly. She gave her word that she would be at the orientation the next day and then went into her room.

For a while she sat on the bed, trying to work out what was going on. She had been invited to attend the Massachessets Academy, by Ms. Frost. That much she knew. But why, she still had no idea. Ms. Frost had hinted at this being a special school for special people, but Cai was not special. So had some mistake been made? With such thoughts going through her mind, Cai drifted off to sleep.

Martin

The dark way he mentioned trying to drown had me wary to ask him anything more about it. Something told me there were even darker times in his past. We got my extra trunks and found the pool. It was huge!
The roof was high and there were rings that looked like hula hoops of different sizes hanging at different heights from the ceiling. A sign read 'Pool/Ariel Practice Room.' I wondered what that was about.
"Wow, will you look at this place." I commented to Vincent.

Vincent

Vincent stood in his borrowed trunks and looked at the expanse, whether it was created for pleasure or for combat training was still up to debate, but he had to admit it was impressive. He stared deeply at the immense pool, he shivered slightly as he recalled the last time he had tried to end his parasitic existence, but now he had a goal, a purpose and he wanted it to succeed.

Vincent

"Wow" Vincent agreed. He realized that if someone was a good enough acrobat, he could leap from bar to bar without ever touching the water. Vincent pondered how long he could keep himself dry.

OOC: Angel's back, but it seems like nothing's going on over at Professor's School...

Joseph

Joseph wandered down the hallways, wondering what the hell was going on around here. He hadn't seen many others around and the only time that he had seen Ms. Frost was when she had met him at the front door. He knew that he was a loner but this was actually ridiculous. It was then that he heard the sound of water splashing and walked quickly in that direction. When he stopped in front of the door the first thing that he saw was the people splashing around in the pool and he said, "Thank god, there are other living beings in this place."

He walked to the door and with a slight push opened it then walked in, smiling when everyone stopped to look at him. He then looked behind him, wondering if there was anything there but when he saw that there wasn't the first thing that he said was, "What, I am not that ugly."

Vincent

Vincent looked seriously at the newcomer. "yes you are..."
He paused"But then again arent we all". He did his best impression of a smile to let him know that he was kidding and said "Im Par..er..Vincent, The aquatically inclined one is Martin."

Joseph

Joseph walked forward and squatted down beside the pool then looked at Vincent and said, "The name is Joseph. You'll have to excuse me for not being around alot but I was just checking out the grounds. Did I miss anything?"

OOC: still nothing going on?

Angel:

A new sensation overwhelmed me as I walked aimlessly along the long corridors of the school. It felt cold and quiet, almost the exact opposite of the way I felt when Professor was around me. What was going on?

Then, as if a voice to soothe my anxiety and confusion, I could hear Professor in my head once more.

I headed for his room, needing answers, quickly.

Tara

ooc: sorry for the delay.. and Angel was a girl, right?

ic:

I shifted suddenly, hearing the new voice at the door. Suddenly, the room was becoming too crowded, and I had to get out.

"I'm sorry, Professor. I'll come back later," I mumbled, before brushing past the newcomers and out the door.

Outside, I leaned against the wall, and closed my eyes. I'd never had a touch of clausterphobia before, and this was unexpected. Still... it was there, and I had to escape it.

That's when I bumped into Angel... Well not so much bumped, as saw her coming. She too was headed to the Professor's office, so I offered her a soft smile before turning to examine the halls.

Vincent

I climbed back on the rings that surrounded the pool area. If I timed it right I would never get wet. As I lept from ring to ring I paused. "No you havent missed a thing, Ms.Frost has been more than kind with us, and the only thing we have been advised of is being bright and early for courses tomorrow. As far as I know were on free time at the moment" I slipped slightly as I finished my sentence but caught myself and eyed the next ring. I wondered just waht kind of acrobats this school was used to.

Joseph

Joseph watched Vincent with interest; to see if he would be able to make it to the next ring. He didn't really want to disturb his concentration as it looked as though Vincent was going to try his hardest to make it to that ring.

Joseph walked over to the start of the rings and looked at them with a grin and wondered whether or not to try for them but he knew that in doing so it might cause Vincent to crash into the water with a loud splash.

Rachel

OOC: Rachel is a battery for emotions. She feeds on them and they give her strength and a degree of invulnerability. Kind of like Rogue, but powers arent drained, just emotions. I guess a worst case scenario would be a fight w a robot

Rachel raced up the stairs, she couldnt fly but she could sure as hell leap. She was pretty sure she had lost them. The Law didnt seem to get along to well with her, but for now all was quiet. Rachel looked over the invitation again. She didnt have much in the way of belongings. But as she eyed the wallet she had stolen from that creep who had tryed to feel her up. she realized shopping wasnt going to be a problem. She wondered if she had hit him to hard, but then figured if she had then he had it coming, "No one is going to push me around anymore!"

Whoops!

 sorry forgot to say which school I was in. Massachusets Academy so watch out heros! ;)

OOC post

OOC: Well... I had two different students come to see Professor X, but neither one responded to my post greeting them. *shrugs shoulders*
Isolde is getting settled in (RL changes), so her posts will be a little slow for the moment. I'm alive and kicking, but ask everyone to amuse themselves for a few days. We are hatching a plan to get the two groups to meet, so please bear with us. There won't be a lot of focus on training sessions or classes. Those are assumed to be occuring between the lines.
If anyone wants to go into town, to stir up some trouble, feel free. If you want to post something involving the passage of time, like saying it is nightime for you, or a weekend, feel free too.

Angel:

As we walked past one another, 'Tara' came into my mind. Next thing, I felt afraid. Not like I was really afraid, more like that she was. Of what?

I turned back, and saw her silhouette starting to fade along the long corridor.

"Tara?" I called out to her.

Brad/Fallout

The cold water had felt great on such a hot day. I dried off and went back to my room to get a change of clothes, smiling or nodding my head at anybody that walked by. I put on a pair of khaki shorts (everything I had was stolen) and a polo, slipped on a pair of sandals, and placed an expensive pair of sunglasses over my eyes, trying to hide my physical mutation.

I walked down to town by myself with the wallet I had stolen a couple days ago. It was filled with about $500 and a few platinum pieces of plastic. I knew stealing was wrong, but it was really difficult to find a well-paying job that hired mutants.

I went to my friend Pablo, he could always crack the accounts, see how much cash was in there, get the account code, all that stuff, he was definately a useful person to know.

"Heyyyy, amigo!" He greeted.

"Hey Pablo, I need you to check these out for me." I put down the 3 cards down on the table.

" 'Dis is gawna cost you, man. I'm tinking.....200 dollars."

I searched through the wallet and put down 4 50's.

"There ya go." I said.

"Aite. Come back in 20 meenits."

I decided to go grab something to eat while I waited. I went to a small diner and took a seat. The waitress came and took my drink order, giving me a strange look. After that, I watched her go back and talk to somebody and point at me.

"Shit..." I thought as the man walked towards me.

"Sir, I'm going to have to ask you to get out of here." He said with a hateful tone in his voice.

"Come on, man. I just want something to eat, it's not like I won't pay." I replied, putting down $20 on the counter.

"Get out!" He yelled, pulling me out of the booth onto my ass.

"Uh oh" I thought, I could feel it. The same feeling I got everytime "it" happens.

"Get off your ass and out of my restaurant!" He kicked me, while I was on the floor.

"Why..." It was all I could say. Then I blacked out. When I woke up, I was lying outside of the diner which had been trashed on the inside. I could hear sirens in the distance that grew louder and louder.

I ran back to the school and burst into the Professor's office.

"Professer! I did something bad!"
