Chloe

"Where is that rotten two-timing bastard hiding!?"

Chloe looked up to see Miss Chambers fuming so hotly that she almost feared her desk would catch fire and burn.

"Do you have an appointment?"

"Don't give me that! You know I don't." Amber folded her arms over her chest and stood staring hard at Chloe... As if that was going to gain Amber entrance any sooner.

"Well without an appointmen-"
"Stop covering for him! I want to see him and I want to see him now!" For dramatics, Amber even managed to summon up some tears.

"And the nature of this business would be...?" Chloe was really get tired of trying to juggle everything.

Amber fumbled for her purse, snapping it open only to drop it on the floor. Feeling sorry for the girl and unsure why, Chloe got up and crawled under her desk to help retrieve all the things Chloe knew were now scattered about her clean carpet.

True enough, Amber looked ready to smudge her perfect make-up with tears. "He sent me.. a letter! A LETTER!" She shouted, hoping Marcus would hear.

Jumping in reaction to someone bellowing right by her ear, she knocked her head on her own desk. "Shit!" Biting her lip, she grabbed a lipstick and compact, handing them over to Amber.
"SEE!" Amber thrust a letter right under Chloe's nose, noticing it wasn't the typical hand-typed note she was asked to send off with some flowers. This looked to be written in Marcus's own hand writing?

"Amber.. Please. He's very busy today. And work is no place..." She sighed as Amber hiccuped and sniffled. "Alright! Just please, stop crying."

Marcus was a complete contradiction! One moment complete and utter PIG and then next a nice guy.. Whom apparently Amber had fallen in love with and was now facing being dumped.

"For the waitress, no doubt.."

"Is there a problem, Miss Smith?" Again her head hit the bottom of her desk in surprise. Sure enough.. She peeked around her rear-end sticking out from under her desk to see Marcus's Italian black, shiny loafers standing rather close.

"Uhh.. Mr. Jones.. Miss Amber Chambers is here to .. see you.." She backed out from under the desk, bumping into her chair with her butt and felt her face flame even further.

"Marcus! Baby!" Amber gave a squeal and jumped up from the other side of the desk, purse forgotten, to race over and hug Marcus. Slowly Chloe managed to get to her feet, doing her best not to look in her boss's direction.

"Mr. Jones?" She finally turned to look at him, "It's lunch time, need anything before I head out?" She was a complete chicken shit, and she knew it! But she wasn't going to hang around for any more theatrics. Food sounded much better than finding out more about Marcus than she already knew!

She knew his clothing size.. ALL clothing. She knew his shoe size. How he liked his coffee.. Which side of his bed he slept on. She knew his routine every day of the week, including weekends.. Just in case of emergencies.

She knew every piece of property in his penthouse and even possessed a key to said penthouse. She knew how to sign his name, where he kept his credit cards and that he really hated any kind of airline food, cafeteria food and had a weakness for milkshakes. And she knew at one point he was a pig! Now.. Now she was second guessing herself and did not like it.

Marcus

"We need to talk Amber.", Marcus said trying fend off the grabby Amber. "It's something I've been thinking about a lot and it's very important, dealing with the both of us."

Betty had arrived outside the office to meet with Chloe for lunch. Chloe was gathering her stuff purse and indicated silence from Betty with a raised finger. Both listened in on the office, out of sight.

"Oh my gawd!", Amber squealed, fanning herself, "I've been waitting for this for so long baby!" Tears of joy were pooling in her ducts.

"Hear me out please.", Marcus went on, "I've put a lot of thought in this and I need to ask you something."

He grabbed Ambers tear soaked, shaking hands, and dropping to one knee.

Betty was about to go Chernobyl with excitement. She was calmed by a file that Chloe slapped in her face to calm her. They continued to listen.

"We've been dating for about a year now, right?", Marcus asked.

"Ye... ye... yes.", Amber got out between whimpers, smiling the whole time.

"We've gotten close to one another. We've grown over the year and I need to ask you something.", Marcus said.

"Yes I will!", Amber shouted with joy.

"If you answer these questions, each question, correctly, we will leave right now to go where ever you want, I will personally buy you the biggest diamond ring and we will get married tomorrow.", Marcus said.

"Amber,", he started, gazing into her watered eyes, "what is my favorite color?"

Stunned, she shrugged and chuckled uneasily, "Green."

Blue, Chloe thought.

"What was the name of my first pet?", Marcus said, with a solid, emotionless face.

"You never had a pet Sweetie. Honey, what's wrong. You're scaring me.", Amber pulled away coldly from him.

Never had a pet, Chloe thought again.

With a firm tone Marcus drilled, "What's my favorite food? How do I like my coffee? Am I a Republican or a Democrat?"

"Umm, Mexican, I think you like your coffee black and Republican. Baby, why are you doing this? Something's gotten into you.", sobbed Amber.

Pancakes with 2 pats of butter and maple syrup. Quarter inch from the top with an ice cube, fresh creamer and two sugars and Democrat., Chloe rattled off mentally in 3 seconds flat. Betty, almost on the brink of passing out from the drama.

"You are right.", Marcus said, smiling at Amber.

"I... I... I... I am?", the color running back into her face, a smile slowly coming to her face.

"Yeah.", said Marucs. "You're right. I don't have a pet. You don't know a damned thing about me!" He stood, and paced infront of his desk, hands running through his hair.

"All this time, going over to your parents place, parading me to your family, you're little prize trophy at the Chambers Dog and Pony Show. How could I have not seen it?!", he exclaimed.

"But, you said you loved me. We had something.", she refuted.

"Wow, two right in a row, but sorry, there's no Lightning Round on this game show.", he said, doing a little sarcastic jig. "You are totally right though. I loved you. We had something. All past tense.

"I made my good faith effort. As far as I'm concerned, we were over about 2 months ago. That letter, that you see right next to you,", he said, pointing at his hand written letter, "if you couldn't tell, that was a break up letter! Check your voice mail, I left a few there too! Take a hint.", he pleaded.

In shock, with what remaining dignity was left in her body, she rose, and walked to the door with a simple "Ok... goodbye.".

Amber walked past the two secretaries, who, instantly made themselves look busy with files and paper work but the act went unnoticed as Amber walked away forever and for good.

Marcus sat in his office, hands clasped and pushed against his lips, elbows against his knees, pondering, What now? What now indeed.

"Come on... I'm hungry.", Betty said to Chloe.

"It's funny..."

"What is?" Betty paused, salad piled on her fork, half way to her mouth.

"I knew all the answers and Amber didn't know anything worth shouting about.."

Betty didn't say anything for the longest moment and then broke out into a huge grin, "Think he'd marry me if I got all the answers correct?"

"What?" Chloe was doing nothing more than pushing her salad around on her plate, lost in her own musings.

"If you give me the answers.. Chloe? Are you listening to me?"

"What? Sorry.. just.. tired." A lame excuse, but this day was turning into a freaking nightmare! "And No Betty. You're already married.."

"True.." She made a humming noise and then winked, "But it doesn't hurt to day dream! Besides.. who has an ass like that man?" Betty was pointing her fork at Chloe as if that would get her point across.

"Betty can we discuss something else please?" She really didn't want to get into this discussion!

"Well.. Alright. So tell me which gal is next?"

"Next?"

"Yeah, the poll down in the lounge says he's seeing some singer.."

"Waitress..."

"What? A waitress?!" Betty sat back a moment, "When? I dont remember any waitress?"

"Some girl from Perucci's down the street.."

"Didn't he take you to lunch there the other day?"
"Yeah.."
"And she was ok with that?"
"Hardly, but it doesn't matter.. I'm just a secretary Betty.. Like you."
"Yeah but you're paid more, you work more and you run his life.. oh MY god! It just hit me... He should marry you!" Betty giggled as Chloe choked on her leamonade.

Coughing, she grabbed a napkin, trying not to cry as she hacked up an ice cube. Eyes watering and down right shocked at Betty's train of thought she simple could not reply with anything coherant!

"Thats.. So .. not funny Betty Ann!" Wheezing a moment, she decided lunch was over. At Chloe's desk they parted company, and now that she was back in the office, routine started all over again.

Taking the finished contracts into Marcus's office, she stopped behind his chair. Hesistant at first, then certain he needed it, she laid her hands on his shoulders and gently began to knead the muscles.

"All the work is finished for today. I even seen to all of the manuscripts that needed filing.. So.. with nothing left to do.. why not go home early?" She smiled even though he couldn't see it. Her fingers dug in deep a moment and then moved to his neck where she brushed his hair from the nape and began to work out a large lump there. "You've had a long day and there is no real reason to stay.." He seemed to be lost in thought, or merely shocked that she had touched him.. Not that she'd touched him in an unprofessional manner.

Marcus

Having gotten back to work after the turmoil had taken it's toll dearly. He was just drained in all sense of the word. Chloe was there to help.

Her delicate hands hid a wonderful strength, loosening the physical stresses in his sholders and neck. Her hands, chilling but welcome at first, grew hot and even more welcome.

Having enough will power and energy to finish the day out, he raised his right hand and it met hers. The hands met and he rested it there for a moment, sending chills down his arm and up hers. He then, with a slightly heavy heart, patted her hand, indicating that was enough.

His eyes were closed the whole time but as he felt her leave his back, he opened them and watched her walk to the door.

"Hey,", he said.

"Hmm?"

"Thanks. And you can get outta here, I just need a few things for me. I took some stuff to the cleaners, if you could pick them up for me? Also, could you order a cheese pizza for me and have it sent to my place?", he said, slightly taking advantage of his apparent weakness. This was normal though, so Chloe wasn't fooled in the slightest.

He started to pack up letting her know that she could do the same.

"Sure thing boss. Anything else?"

"Yeah,", he looked at a mound of files, plucking two of the smaller files from the middle leaving the four remaining, thick files for himself, "think you could knock these outta the way? Thanks.", he smiled, rolling his head back, happily moving around the loosened muscles. He took two of his thick files and placed them in his briefcase.

She took her share of the files and left for the night.

Gettin' outta here before 4 pm... I like the way she thinks., Marcus thought.

Chloe

7 P.M.

Knocking on the door, she waited impatiently for Marcus to open the door. Juggling two pizza's and a six pack of beer, plus her purse was a comical sight if anyone had been watching her attempting to get up to the top floor like that.. And by herself

The door finally opened, Marcus had apparently had showered and dressed to relax.

"Miss Smith?"

"Chloe tonight.. Here.. take these." She pushed the pizza's into his hands and stepped inside 'his' domain.

"Sorry I couldn't find someone to deliver and Amy ran into a 'hot date' and ditched me. Thought I'd bring dinner? And those files looked a little much for one guy to handle.." She flashed a little grin, determined not to think more of her timely visit than just that.. a harmless visit.

Marcus

Checking the contents of the pizza box and eyeing the beer, he cheerily said, "Well, umm, thanks!", with a chuckle.

He quickly scampered, pizzas in hand to the coffee table, balancing the pizza boxes in one hand, pushing newspapers over into a small and almost neat pile.

He set the pizzas down and went to get a couple plates and Chloe tossed him a beer.

"Thanks,", he said, the pizza barely making his words audible. "I love this place. How'd you know I...", he stopped and chuckled, stratching his chest, covered by a plain black shirt.

"You know Chloe," he started up again, looking at how she had her hair down, "you look different... in a good way. I've never seen you in casual clothes. Or with your hair down for that matter."

He lied very well, remembering over a decade ago.

Chloe

"Uh.. umm.. Well it is after normal work hours.." She barely got that excuse out before she dove for a piece of hot double layered pepperoni pizza.

"God! I love Fat Boy's Pizza!" She groaned aloud as her taste buds erupted in pure bliss. He did too.

"I didn't.." She swallowed with a flush for forgetting her manners. "...know you liked Fat Boy's. Good stuff, you have great taste.." In some things.. but she didn't say that part aloud!

"Sorry to barge in on you. Just thought I'd save time. Thanks." She replied as she took the glass. Best not be a total cow and at least pour the beer into a glass!

Sitting on the floor, she kicked off her slip on shoes and sat indian style on the floor. Pouring her beer carefully, she made sure to keep the 'head' tiny as possible. She hated all the foam, just ruined the damned beer..

"Well I am shocked. I just learned something about you I didn't know before." She chuckled as she set down her pizza on the cardboard box.

"So..." Her eyes scanned down his chest a moment as he sat down on the couch across of her. Everything she had to say just evaporated from her mind as she eyed the body displayed perfectly in the tight tshirt.

"Uh.. Did you get .. some of the work finished before I arrived or am I in time to save you?" she flashed a dimpled smile, hoping her nervousness wouldn't show.

Marcus

"Sadly, not in enough time to save me.", he said as he finished his second piece of pizza. He cleared a throw pillow from the seat on the couch on his left. He patted on the Italian leather couch, "Yeah, I'm your boss. Doesn't mean we can't sit on the same furniture."

"You wouldn't want those pants getting dirty.", he added. It was true. The maid was out sick last week and was just a bit over due.

The concern for the cleanliness of her hip huggers didn't arrise from his sanitation habbits. More out of sheer interest of the hugging properties they held over her hips and how they clung to her wonder ass.

He also caught a nice view of her profile as she stood up. With the suit sets gone and done with for the day, now sporting a T-shirt and those great hip huggers, he noticed how great she really looked.

Chloe

"Beth out this week huh?" Rising she moved to sit beside him on the couch. Of course she had to bend over the table to move her food and beer, having forgotten them.

Not that it mattered, here was safe. She didn't know what he did in his apartment, and planned to keep it that way.

"SO.. tell me all the interesting things you don't tell anyone.. Since we're not working, might as well chit chat while eating." She grinned, sinking her teeth into another piece.

The minutes ticked by as they ate, chatting slowly and cautiously at first..

"I was married.. highschool.. sweetheart is a loose term.. Big mistake there.... Boring stuff too. What about you? I know you've never been hitched.. Why's that?"

Marcus

"Well,", he took a drink, as if to gather strength, "I didn't enjoy high school that much. Never really... umm... fit in I guess you could say."

There was a brief moment of contemplation and a huh uttered from Marcus before he continued again, staring straight ahead, almost a minute after falling silent.

"Never really thought about the getting married side of life. I've just been busy with work, getting my own life to the comfort level that I'm at now and women have just come and gone.

"They've only seen the physical me, or the penthouse, the cars, the suits, the money. All that stuff. They've never really gotten to know me. Never tried to figure out how I tick."

He turned his head to face her, "Ya know?", and sighed heavily.

He stared at her now, watching her eyes, look about the room, watching her lips for any sign of speech, watching her breasts rise and fall with each breath.

Chloe

"I think high school was a nightmare for everyone. There is always some bad memory or two making you wish you could do it all over again. And then once you remember what it was like to be a teenager, you don't want to do it all over again." Glancing at him she smiled a knowing smile.

"I wish I could do it all over again, and then figure I'd probably end up in worse scenarios than before. Best left alone." It was a little strange to be chatting about something other than appointments and work. Maybe too personal?

Her smile faded slightly, knowing it wasn't a bright idea to get too close to Marcus. Too many factors against the wisdom of such a thing weight heavily on her mind.

"As for the possessions and such. A lot of people are that way. There is always something better to be had, next door, next week. No one seems happy any more with what life has given them." She set down her beer, wiping her hands on her jeans. Uncharacteristic of her, but it worked for the oils.

"Makes you wonder. Why bother, enters your mind often. Hell, even marriages anymore can be dissolved without a backward glance and in days. Usually, something 'better' might come along, grass is greener.. but I'm being unfair again." And she felt like she was, knowing some had valid reasons for getting divorced.

"You're right to wait for the right one. Who wants three failed marriages, or even one, under their belt? Makes you feel like a dysfunctional spousal candidate and there for not apt to attracting another could-be ex." She chuckled, wondering if she lost him in all her ramblings?

"Well, dinner is pretty much done. Ready to tackle those files?" She purposely avoided allowing him room to question her about her past, seems she was still ashamed after all. She wasn't doing too bad here, business as usual seemed to melt right back into it's rightful place. No more picturing him naked or the waitress. She could've laughed out loud but wisely contained that urge.

Marcus

Her enchanting words of wisdom took hold of him for a few seconds before he was slapped back to the cold reality of the wrod files. "Oh, yeah. Those things."

He stood, wiping his hands on his butt and wondered for a brief moment, Did she see that? Agh... oh well. He bent over and picked up the near empty pizza boxes and took them to the kitchen.

"Mind if I put some music on.", Chloe asked, eyeing his entertainment system.

"Yeah. Music, movies, the TV, whatever. Doesn't bother me.", he said.

If you were to take a snap shot of this instant and show it to the Marcus of a decade ago, he would think you were crazy. The pasty, lanky youth would have never believed that Chloe Smith was talking to him, much less in his appartment.

He walked back from the kitchen and stood a few paces away from Chloe who was fumbling with a few remote controls. He put his hands on his waist, flexed his arms and tilted his head slightly to the left and stared at her. It was time he finally let out something he waited a decade to say.

"You look really good tonight. I just noticed how great you look outside the world of suits and seeing you with your hair down just made me realize it even more.", Marcus said after mustering the courage.

Sure, it was just a shirt and some hip huggers, but it was the whole thing Marcus was interested in. He smiled, letting her soak it in and proceded to get his briefcase.

Chloe

Looking over the remote, she had a few hit and misses with selecting the right 'play' button, but she finally found the cd player. Turning it down, since it was over half way.. Was he working out to loud music? Unsure, she turned it down and waited to see what he liked to listen to.

Her back to him, he didn't see her startled expression as he gave her a compliment. She never really thought about it much, her hair was always pulled up and out of her face, made it easier to work. And the suits were shapeless, but efficient for the work place. Professional... He'd never seen her in street clothes?

"Uh. Thanks." She didn't really know what else to say to that except a simple thanks. Really suave Chloe! Putting the remote back where she found it, she then stopped long enough to rearrange a picture of his parents. They really should be facing out, not at a wall.

"You're sweet.. sometimes." She chuckled as she shook her head. She wouldn't put much into his words, lord knows how many he's used lines on before. She wasn't going to be another niche in his bedposts.

Seated once again at the couch she hunted through the first file he pulled out. Reaching into her purse she grabbed her reading glasses and sat back into the comfortable cushions to read for errors. This was the tedious part of her job and the most boring, but it had to be done. No renewal contract could have a single typo or unclear clause in it.

She barely got through the first paragraph when she stopped to sip her beer once more. Noticing Marcus was still sitting in silence.. unreading.. caught her attention. What was he doing staring at the entertainment center?

"You know.. I once knew this kid.. Everyone picked on him all throughout high school, but no matter what they did to him, he was always polite and sweet to me.... I wonder if he turned out like you?"

When he gave her a blank look she smiled faintly, "You said you had a miserable high school, but look what you've accomplished? Where as the jocks and cheerleaders are all probably middle to lower class incomes and most like still single or divorced. Maybe they gave you ambition?" She put her beer back down and returned to the contract, wishing it was a manuscript instead.

Marcus

Poor bastard. Kid musta... wait... that was me! , thought Marcus, the beer in his mouth almost shot out his nose. Getting his mouthful of beer down, the can in his hand wasn't as lucky as it slipped from his grip and careened to the floor.

Coughing, he said, "Oh? Sounds like someone had an admire."

He rushed to the kitchen to get a few dish cloths to clean the spilt ale. He scurried back to the spill and dropped to his knees to clean.

Chloe came over to help him, dropping to her knees, bending over a bit, giving Marcus a quick view down her shirt. Nice bra, he thought. He felt himself getting red in the face and quickly tried to recover his emotions.

"That's a nice perfume you're wearing. It smells great. What is it?", he said, suddenly intoxicated by her scent.

Chloe

"Admirer?" she stopped reading a moment to look at the mess he'd made on the floor. "He was always sweet and polite.. Admired? I don't think so." And then she remembered senior prom and how he'd asked her to go with him. Shame made her face red as she avoided Marcus's eyes.

"Anyway, I doubt he's given me any thought over the years. Now why did you have to make a mess?" She chuckled, trying to ease the moment and her conscious.

Grabbing napkins off the table, she hunted for little puddles of beer. "That's a nice perfume you're wearing. It smells great. What is it?", Her eyes shot up to meet Marcus's just inches away.

"Passion." Her gaze matched her mind, she was completely puzzled as to his behavior tonight. "Thanks." Was muttered off as she chose that moment to get some distance between them.
He was behaving oddly, was he lonely or thinking she was?

"It's..." She grabbed the wet napkins and got up, tossing them into the empty glass. "It's my favorite perfume.." She was growing nervous, uncertain exactly what Marcus was doing and why he was doing it?

Was he trying to show he had a good side? It was simply too 'weird' the things he was saying, noticing. She's worn passion every day since it came out four years ago. Daily! And he'd never noticed until now? Or was he simply thinking of something to chat about since her untimely arrival?

Stop it Chloe! You're making a mountain out of a mole hill! She sighed softly, letting herself relax. She was just reading too much into the things he was saying because..... Hell, maybe just because she found him appealing? Maybe because she hadn't dated since the divorce, nor had any sex since before the big 'D'? She was obviously projecting her own inner thoughts into the moment.... or Marcus was flirting with her?

She sat back down on the couch, arranged herself to be comfortable, tucking her bare feet in beside her and once more picking up the contract. She spied him out the corner of her eye, tempted to ask him a few personal questions.. Ask him why he'd never noticed before? But she knew she didn't want to open that can of worms. She'd be out of a job if she got personal with the boss.

"How are things going with the waitress?" She blurted out what was on her mind, curious to know.

Marcus

Now he was really perturbed. Does she remember me? Or could it be that I left such an impression on her, that she couldn't even match the names in her memory up?!

"Oh, her?", Marcus said, sighing a bit. "Well, after the, uh, encounter we had, she said she'd call me."

He laughed a little, a good light-hearted chuckle, "But,", he shrugged, "she never did. Flaked on me."

He tossed the beer soaked rags in his hands back and forth a couple times before he went into the kitchen to wash his hands.

"So," he came back, "Let's get to those files.". He was still sniffing the air, breathing just a little heavy, but maintaining a calmness about him. It was hard to though. Something primal was stirring deep inside him.

They sat on the couch, going over the wording of contracts, clauses, and the like. They went straight throught the first file with minimal interuption and few breaks.

"You want anything? I'm gettin' some more beer.", he said pointing to the fridge.

"Yeah, sure.", she said.

He returned with a couple of beers and plopped down next to her.

"You've got really nice hand writing Chloe. Something I've been meaning to tell you. Makes working with you that much easier and enjoyable.", he said, boyishly. He then went about reading the next file as if nothing happened. He wondered if something would though.

Chloe

Why did she feel like she was in some sort of ballet? They seemed to be dancing around each other, some hidden meaning to every little sentence, every little glance. What was she missing here? The obvious was finally sinking in a little more each time he spoke.

The tone of his voice, where his eyes would linger. She wasn't imagining anything, Marcus was checking her out! And the little demon inside her was jumping for joy at the thought while her sensible side was scoffing at the idea.

"Flaked huh?" She said nothing more for a moment, trying to determine what to make of the situation. She twisted off the cap of her beer bottle and drank deeply, her mouth suddenly seemed too parched for her tongue to get unstuck from the roof of her mouth.

She had glanced down at her handwriting twice since his compliment, wondering if this was 'seduction 101'? Deciding it was best not to comment on his compliment, she rose from the couch and hunted down the stereo remote once more. The cd was too slow and soft moving, it was making her a little sleepy.

She didn't bother to ask, didn't cross her mind to do it actually. "Anything in particular you'd like to listen to?" She asked loud enough to be heard. Scanning his neatly stacked cd's, she tried to find something that would liven it up a little.

"Anything is fine with me." He muttered, obviously lost in his reading.

"You have no dance mixes or club cds?"

"Huh? Uh, no?"

She did turn then to look at Marcus, shocked that he had nothing to dance to. "I see..." And she didn't but did not comment. For a nineties grad... He had none of the old stuff. She knew he was exactly 6 months older than she was and there for had attended the same grade at the same time she had. So why was there no 'big hair bands'? and there certainly was no dance music.

A classical type guy? He did own a few alternative cds and some old rock. Not bad.. Turning on the radio, she hunted for a new wave station. Plopping back down on the couch, she leaned towards Marcus to read over his shoulder. "There's an error on paragraph three. Where it says that Richard Higgens is required to put out forty-five novels in the first year? See it? It should be four." She reached over his arm to point on the paper. Pressed against his side, and much of her weight being snug against him, she put her feet under her once more and kept reading.

God he smells.. scrumptious!

Marcus

Completely ignoring what she just advised, his mind was on her body pressing against his. With her body pressed against her, his senses completely went dead to the world and focused on this welcome touch. For a brief moment, he felt her breathing, he heard taking in air and lightly expelling it.

"Oh. Got it. I just thought he was a really good, fast writer.", Marcus uttered, being snapped from his own little world. He fought her perfume, which was invading his mind, consuming his every thought.

He stood up, placing the files on the coffee table and made his way to his kitchen, returning with a glass of water this time.

Chloe had pulled a few bundles of paper from the file and had them resting on her crossed legs.

Setting the glass of water down on a small stand next to the couch, he placed an arm on the couch behind Chloe as he leaned in, partially to read the file but more importantly to get close to Chloe. This time, his side was resting against Chloe, not enough to cause discomfort, but enough to be flirty.

"So what do you think?", he said softly, weakly pointing at the contract.

Chloe

She'd been so engrossed her the paper, when she turned to answer him she nearly bumped into his face. Wide eyed, all thought died as she sat staring at his face.

"It's..." She paused, turning back to the papers scattered across her legs. "late." She stuttered out, picking up the papers and trying to straighten them. "Maybe I can finish this in the morning." She really did not know what else to say.

He was far too close for comfort, it hadn't entered her mind when she did the exact same thing to him.. But now? Now she felt all those private longings leap forth into the conscious part of her mind and play erotic scene after erotic scene.

This was dangerous! Marcus was dangerous!

"Here.." She handed him the papers, placing them between their bodies. "I'm sure I can get the one page retyped in no time. The rest looks fine... So .. we're finished." She gave a little relieved smile and wondered absently where she took her shoes off?

"Anything else left to do Marcus?" She scanned the table, seeing nothing left then once more turned to look at him. Her heart was pounding hard, she needed out of there! Her attention finally tuned in the song playing on the radio, it too was a soft slow song, but it sounded very erotic at that moment.

Marcus

Marcus' stupid gaze remained. He heard the music in the background, he saw the dim light of the lamps of his penthouse cast a slight glow about her eyes, a small shine on her lips. He was close enough to see that she had flawless complexion. Her skin was wrinkle free, soft, even screaming to be touched. He saw how she was looking at him. She was screaming to be touched, but she fought.

He raised his right hand an slowly went towards her face and brushed a little smudge of pizza sauce away from the corner of her mouth. And stroked her chin, in a smooth, easy motion as he brought it back to him.

He broke eye contact just to check the wall clock and resumed his fixed gaze on beautiful Chloe.

"What's the rush? It's not even 9. Could hang here and watch something.", he lurched his head towards the entertainment center, radio still sending the erotic sounds forth.

Chloe

She nearly melted out of her skin when his finger tips grazed across her face. Something in his touch made her weak in the knees, and it had to be something superficial? She hated to think of herself as shallow minded, but who could or would resist a temptation like this man?

"Watching something?" She dumbly repeated, a husky little whisper, which couldn't have possibly come from her throat. She just did not sound like that!

"What did you have in mind?"

NO! NO! You were supposed to say "Thats not proper!" Her mind chastised her harshly while her pulse and libidio did a little 'jig' of pleasure.

"Any .. perference?" He asked, still staring.

"Anything..." She replied, staring right back at him. If she'd been watching this scene unfold she probably would have been laughing her ass off about now and shouting "FUCK ALREADY!"

But this was her life, it was real and it wasn't kosher to shout something like that...

"I like all kinds of movies." She smiled, "So, pick something out?"

Leave Chloe! Before you succumb to his wicked ways and screw up your life!

Marcus

I like all kinds of movies. So, pick something out?

The words registered but it took a few seconds. He was enchanted by her stare. He watched her lips move as she spoke, longing to press his against them.

"Well,", he said, slowly being pulled in by the rip tide of her hauntingly beautiful eyes, "I have comedy,", slightly closer, "drama,", even closer, "and action.", he went to the threshold of close and stopped, pausing, staring, taking her in.

He moved his head past that threshold and kissed her. The lips he so very much desired met his. There were sparks flying everywhere, chills were sent down both of thier spines. He pulled back, testing the water, the erotic music being replaced by the tune of a smoky, solo saxaphone.

Chloe

Her pupils dilated as her breathing picked up slightly. He moved closer with each word, and with each movement, she felt her body weaken further and further. Every nerve ending in her entire body went on sudden alert, perking up, anticipation.. knowing what was coming. Only her brain wasn't paying it much attention, she was too busy staring at him coming slowly closer.

"Action?" She barely got that word out before his lips gently took hold of her own. Startled, knowing it was coming, but never seen the possibilities of fireworks when their lips would meet.

But it did, bright lights shot off behind her closed eyes and just when she was ready to respond in kind, he pulled back. Slowly her lids parted, her nostrils flared slightly as she sucked in a deep breath.

This is so.... WOW!

She moved first, moving right up to him, she even went so far as to slide her body closer. Her hands cupped his face and her mouth laid seige to his lips. Hungrily she kissed him, her tongue beckoning him to open for her, parted and the kiss erupted into something hot and very needy.

Unable to hold back any longer, her desire bursting through the wall she had built, she moaned. She could feel the warm rush of arousal pulsate through her body, leaving her weak and shaken. Her nipples were instantly hard and she felt the familiar ache deep inside. Releasing his face, she ran her fingers through his hair, mussing it up and pulling him almost over her.. And then reality kicked in. Wow? I meant WRONG!

STOP!
Quickly she jerked back, her eyes wide and.. well she couldn't have been more embarrassed if her pants had accidentally fallen off!

"S-Sorry!" She gasped out, rising quickly from the couch. "I gotta.. Go. Yeah, I have to go. It's late!" She stood there looking desperately for her shoes. If she stayed there, things were going to happen.. things that weren't supposed to happen! Things that could screw up her job and her sanity.. Not to mention her pride was at stake here.

Marcus shot up after Chloe going around the other side of the coffee table and went behind her as she put her shoes on. He waited for her to turn and face him. She, unwittingly shifted her weight towards him and ran into his hard body as she made her way to the door.

His arms wrapped around her back and waist as he said, "Don't be sorry. You could stay here." He went in to kiss her, their lips meeting for a third time this night. Tounges dancing between the shared space of their mouths, her arms slowly wrapped around him, holding him closer, pressing him firmly against her body. She began to rub softly up and down his back as they held one another, her knees shaking like fallen autumn leafs in the breeze.

His hands did the same to her smaller figure. His left hand slid up from her waist as it went over her sholder, down her breast. It kept moving from her breast to her hip and rested strongly on her ass, which he squeezed promptly upon reaching it. His right hand managed to find it's way under her shirt and stroked the small of her back, almost making her knees buckle with bliss.

Holding her closely, he slowly swirled his finger up her spine, tracing it, leaving a trail of chills in it's wake. He found the clasp for her bra and made short work of it as it unsnapped causing her breasts to bounce. She let out a short groan of approval.

"Don't be sorry. You could stay here." His arms wrapped around her, halting her flight. With a small whimper of protests she couldn't voice, his lips touched her once again.

A sense of euphoria kicked in. Her blood rushed through her body, her heart beat so hard it almost hurt and her knees grew weak enough, she clung to his sturdy frame.

"We.." His lips came back again. "Can't.." She moaned softly, his hand having cupped her ass. Her body meshed with his, her curves fitting perfectly against him. Some where in all this confusing moment, her arms had some how wrapped themselves around him, toying with his back.

"This.. is.. a bad idea.. MARCUS!" She gasped as her bra snapped and fell open. His fingertips were doing a delicious little number on her back, enough that she pushed herself against the bulge in his jeans.

Again he took her lips, stifling all protest from her.. she wasn't really fighting him, when she should have been!

"Please.." She groaned, her body moving with his suggestive movements. Was she asking for more and wanting to be released? She couldn't really think.. Didn't really want to either.

Their lips locked, tongues thrusting wildly back and forth as she rose up on her toes to deepen the kiss. She needed to leave, had to leave! She just couldn't make her wanton body agree with her!

Feeling light headed and surreal, she broke away from his lips to gasp for air.. But it didn't stop him nor deter.. His lips moved lower and back. As his lips nibbled along the curve of her neck she let out a startled cry of pleasure, her nails sinking into his back.
