I would suggest either of the two days to best allow for getting any family committments on time out of the way and for the vagaries of mailing things this time of year.

Either Jan 6...ie, Twelth Night. A personal favorite from when I was at college and couldn't come home for a few Christmases in a row. Got Epiphany gifts instead. hehehe

Or Boxing Day...I mean, what else ya gonna do then, right?
