I'm currently embroidering Christian names on very cheap, tacky, but effective, red felt santa sacks (with white fluffy tops) for the kidlets - these will contain 24 very silly, small, amusing, edible or entertaining gifts for each of them for Advent. Something I started while Mat Jr. was at university. I sent him a gift bag with 24 wrapped,numbered presents (in those days, nothing more than 50p ($1 in today's value). It was a huuggge hit with him and all his fellow students on his floor of halls, so I've tried to carry it on, and now do it for both sons and daughter in law.

We were going to do it for Min's nieces and nephew, but it would cost a fortune to send those 3 small sacks to states, so we're simply sending them a UK generic advent calendar, with 24 windows of some kind of chocolate goody.

Just about anything goes, dependent upon your recipient's profile of likes and dislikes.

Just sign up, send the answers to the questions in post#7 on page one to English Lady, and she'll match you with a recipient, sending you their details, and also with a Secret Santa, sending them your details.

EL's new post will give you all the details.

Gifts have included, notebooks and pen, drawings (we have a lot of artists in the AH), clothing, personal hand-made items, books, candy, chocolate.....anything that you deem appropriate.
