Secret Santa

Crim, I can relate to that, but I know that I can trust the AH regulars. As Nymphy pointed out, the irregulars won't be participating.

If it's a regular that's been around awhile, of course, but we've got some new ones around. I'm just overly cautious. I guess that can be a good or bad habit depending on how you look at it, lol.

Yeppers. Also people can tell me if particular shipping methods need to be used for discretion with nosy spouses.

good point SJ!

I'll accept anybody, overseas or not. I'm easy like that *giggling*

Oooh I'm all excited about this now :nana:

You can always wait to say yes or no till the poll is almost closed. It's a public poll, so you can see who says yes to participating so you can make sure you trust those who are participating.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. :)

I like the idea of a price cap on the gift.
And a low one, too.

I'm poor, as most of us are and I could probably swing like 10 bucks, but that's it.
Handmade gifts are nice, too.

So I suggest a 10 dollar cap on either the gift or the materials to make the gift.
What say all of you?

damn logo , now I can't get that caddilac I wanted from the uncommonly rich person who draws my name:D
but if it's what yall want I'll go along

Also, if Sophie organizes, it will be hard for her to participate. So if someone is interested in being Soph's secret Santa, PM me!

That still won't work because I'll need everyone on the list to make sure they give and receive.

It's okay, L. Really.

I've coordinated several of these types of things online w/ mixed success.
We were actually mailing real stuff to each other thru the mail tho.

In any case, count me in, sounds like a great way to get to know someone better.

ooops, never mind, just glanced back and saw that this might only be for folks who are AH regulars.

I hope y'all have fun!

Maybe I'll go see if anyone on the GB wants to do this.
I'm a regular there.

Did I ask for your opinion?
Keep your nose out of this, woman.

Easiest way to do that would be whoever gets Sophia's name could contact one of the other participants and switch. Sophia wouldn't know until the gift arrived.

Tricky, tricky.

I don't plan to participate myself, but for the aid of those who do ...

If you set up a wish list with Amazon, you can keep your address hidden. Your gift-giver can look up the name you enter for your wish list and send gifts to that address without seeing it so long as you've checked the option to hide your wish list address. The giver doesn't have to give something from your list to use it; just start an order the includes both what you want to send and something from the wish list, click to send it to that address, then delete the wish list item and continue.
