Serpent's Tooth

Tendromus had seen Verialyns strength before, but it was still very frightening. he was very nervous as the went into the hall, but reached the room without any trouble. There wasn't anybody in the hall that moment, and maybe a drunk wasn't that strange here...
"I still feel very ashamed." said tendromus. "Why did you make me do that? I feel like a traitor and barbarian now."

"Make you do what?" Verialyn was not entirely sure what Tendromus was referring to? His approach of Phyliss?

After they entered the rom she kicked the door shut with one foot before carrying Krolsheek over to his bed.

"Well, I mean..." he looked around, feeling unpleasant. "I wouldn't have touched your loveley, strange friend if you wouldn't had... ummmm... persuaded me."

"Oh, she felt so wonderful...." Tendromus sighted in memory. "But it was so wrong what I did.... I mean.. you are her friend, aren't you? How could you incite me to do this?"

At that Verialyn had to smile enigmatically. "Maybe because I know her better than you do?"

Tendromus looked puzzled.
"But I saw and heard her. She wasn't acting... or I shall not be a lifelong merchant if I got fooled that much."

"It's deeper with her..." Verialyn tried to explain, not sure she should divulge too much. "Plus she actively chased you off, which is a good sign. Trust me, you did her a favor."

"Nevertheless, I feel used somehow. And I am not sure if I should feel sorry for her or punish her. If I try to understand what you tell me..." he looked to the ground, thinking. He wasn't a fool.
"So if I get it that way, you tell me she needs the abuse to find herself back, to give her a reason to fight. But I am not the right man for this. I can't force her, even if it would help her. Besides, if she really comes back to her mind by defending herself, it could well be a suicide mission." He scratched his chin. "You would need a ruthless thug or two to do this. Some of the kind no one would miss, if they end up poisoned or turned to stone."

"Tht would also work ..." Verialyn had to grin ""but don't worry, she usually cn distinguish who is assaulting her, and take measures accordingly." That 'usually' probably did not sound too comforting in hindsight. The plan with the thugs, though, sounded like a good idea. Something to keep in mind ...

"But that is nothing to fret over right now. Time to get to bed." She quickly glanced over to Krolsheeks snoring form. "If it makes you more comfortable you can sleep here tonight. We can toss that hunk onto the floor, I doubt he'll even wake up." Then, with a bit of a predatory grin, she added "Or you can share a single bed with me."

"You are quite persistent, aren't you?" He hd to admit that she was really very nice to look at, but his latest failed adventure had killed his self esteem and lustful fantasies fo this day, and he was quite exhausted. And he was even a bit annoyed, but also frightened and frustrated the same time. What should he do?

"And you are stuck up and indecisive... But whatever, I am going to bed now." At the end of the sentence Verialyn's voice trailed off.

Without a further word she stepped over to the empty bed, took off her robe, her sole garment, placed it on the nearby chair and started to slip under the sheet. Which left Tendromus with the option to join her, join the snoring Krolsheek, toss Krolsheek out of his bed or sleep on the floor himself.

Tendromus felt even worse now for being somehow harsh to Verialyn, what hasn't been his intention. He wanted to apology, but how? On the other hand, didn't she ask for it? The day started so good and ended so bad. He laid down on the floor, as he saw no other option. He wondered if he would find any sleep, even if he was tired and exhausted. He had slept on the floor in the cage, so he should manage. He sighted an closed his eyes.

And so the eventful night came to a close, with everyone involved finding sleep more or less comfortably until the rays of the morning sun greted them through the windows.

Verialyn was the first to stir, rising from the bed and walking over to said window, having a look outside.

There was some movement in the large yard, but not that much. Some guests were probably leaving, some people bought food and goods. Nothing looked really to worry about. Tendromus rolled around the floor, stiff and looking tired, no doubt he has had a bad night - even if he had just won his freedom recently.

As Verialyn watched out over the awakening city she reminisced about the events of the last night. Two clearly sexually aroused men had been involved, yet none of them had ended up between her legs, one even preferring to sleep on the floor instead despite an unambiguous offer of her. Was she loosing her edge?

The other two still seemed soundly asleep, so she once again picked up that robe, slipped inside and made her way over to the other room, to see how her friend was faring.

Tendromus had waited until Veialyn left, and opened his eyes and quickly get up. Should he try his luck and run away, so that he did not have to face the poor gorgon and her demonic friend again? Maybe the best idea - although he would feel very coward to just go away without telling why and expressing his guilt and apology.

Phyliss meanwhile had managed to fall asleep after she lay weeping for some time, and she was still asleep as her friend entered. She was still in the nude, curled up on her side, a thumb touching her lips.

Verialyn had silently entered the gorgon's room, and with a sigh she watched her friend. She had hoped the last night would have given her strength, but the opposite seemed the case. With a sigh and slumped shoulders she watched the sleeping Phyliss.

Tendromus' stirring finally had woken Krolsheek. The big man's eyes opened, and he started to look around. The events of the last night were one big blur in his memory, and his confused expression made this all too apparent. Seeing the standing former accountant he asked as he sat up "Oh, good morning ... uhhh ... what's up?"

Tendromus looked at his former slaver.
"Ohh, you don't recall anything, do you? Lucky guy!!!"

Phyliss turned in her sleep and mumbled "Daddy....".
Some time late she awoke and looked round, and rolled over onto her belly. She saw her friend now and looked on her with her big eyes, her chin resting on he folded arms.

Verialyn looked back at her friend quizzically, before she inquired with curiosity. "Hadn't you told me once that you don't have a father?"

Krolsheek meanwhile was shaking his head rapidly in an attempt to clear his thoughts.

"I do remember fragments ... The Mistress, myself, a blissful union ... it seems the urge has gone down, for the moment ..."

"I've been dreaming..." whispered Phyliss weakly...
She needed a moment to go on. She spoke more calm now, and more detemined.
"And I renembered something I had forgotten, and pushed far away... there are only fragments left. Some long, long time ago I had been sold or even rented as a kind of... pleisureslave, I guess. I don't renember much before, but I ended up with a sadistic couple. One night they abused me so much that I killed both of them with my snakes... and petrified their brutish servant who rushed in. I fleed, but I have forgotten what hapened then for some time... But after that, I had learned to take things in my own hand. I went into the rich houses as guest, not as slave anymore."

"Taking things in your own hand is a good thing..." Verialyn sat down on the bed next to her friend, looking down at her.

"Now that you've slept over it, what do you think of last night?"

Phyliss snakes curled, and she looked down onto the bed.
"It was horrid. I don't know anymore what to do... not long ago I have been close to accept to become a slave... Sometimes I even wished for it. Antides, Ma'ant, I even wanted and wished they would make me their personal slave. I even almost accepted my fate with the wolfmen. Then I thought, I go back to my old days, but then I lost my weakly regaining powers again. And last night, I was so weak and helpless again..."

"You were strong enough to hiss at me ..." Verialyn reminded her. "But why did you ask me for help? Why not direct your energy, your authority, towards the one who was molesting you?"

"I just couldn't.... he is so helpless himself." Phyliss looked up to Verialyn again, half of her face hidden behind her squirming snakes.
"He isn't really vicious or brutal - He is more like a child, since..." she gagged and stopped for a woman.
"...after I tried to kill him and destroyed his sanity. It is strange, but I feel somehow sorry or even responsible for him now. I even think now, maybe I deserved that for all what I did."
