sex in the shower question

Recently, BF and I were having a shower together. The shower is pretty small, so usually, it's not much more than kissing and pressing against each other. Well, the other day, he was trying to get a little more involved and I think was hoping to bring me to orgasm. But, although it felt good and all, I had to ask him to stop because I just wasn't able to stay lubed up (although inside was wet and good, being touched externally was just uncomfortable because the lube (my own) just kept washing away.

Is there a decent lube to use in the shower that won't just wash away that isn't hard to wash away when you do want it gone?

Silicone lube, for sure. We usually keep some in the shower for impromptu play purposes.

And it's silky and moisturizing, so it doesn't really need to be washed off - at least it doesn't leave me feeling kind of gross like oil-based lubes. But it will wash off easily with warm water and a bit of soap, if that's your preference.

I'd actually recommend silicone lube for anything besides toys you can't use it with. It's not cheap, but it doesn't get goopy and and need constant reapplication like water based lubes.

Yeah, I second that. Silicone lube is fantastic stuff. Works great in the shower, and Reba67, that problem is not unusual. My lass and I often play in the shower, but I usually pick her up for the duration and we turn side on to the water, so not much ends up flowing between us to wash away her lubricant. Try a position change as well, see if that does it for you. If it doesn't, invest in some silicone lube: that'll do the trick.

Silicone lube can make the floor very slippery, so be careful. Been there, done that. I'm glad the doctor didn't want me to explain exactly how I managed to hit my head in the faucet.

Would exiting the water flow and applying to the body be able to solve this? Or is the lube on the floor problem not related to water washing it out of your hand?

I don't know if my shower floor is extra slippery, but even some shampoos/conditioners with high silicone content make the floor slippery. I slipped after the deal, when the shower was no longer running. Don't know what happened there, but I just thought I'd add a little word of precaution. :)

Make a thorough risk assessment, don knee ,elbow and crash helmet, then go for it!!!!

remember, slippery when wet.

So, silicone lube + grippy bath/shower mat should = lubricated, and fewer ER trips. :D

Don't really have this problem, but I'm a water junkie, so as long as there's water, I'm happily distracted enough to not care. Yeah, it can get somewhat uncomfy, but nothing rearranging doesn't solve. Maybe try turning down your water pressure or somewhat redirecting your shower head, if that's an option.

We've never had a problem slipping in the shower when we use silicone lube. Yes, it's slick if it gets on the floor, but it's not like just using it normally creates a hazard, and it's easy enough to clean up if some accidentally makes it to the floor.

With some caution and common sense, you should be fine. :)

While that will work, you shouldn't be putting Vaseline into the vagina. That's a really good way to get a bacterial/yeast infection because the oily product protects and creates a hospitible environment for it to develop.

or If you have one of theose shower heads that is commected to a hose and can be moved around he can give your clit a good massage with it. You can alter the pressure by turning on and off the tap more.

Gets me over the line every time!

did not know that- thanks

A good rule of thumb mate, is if it doesn't say it's a personal lubricant, don't use it as one. ;)

Reba67: Small shower as in a shower stall or a bathtub + shower arrangement with a glass partition? Those can be a real pain the ass since you have to get legs up or get bent forward a bit, and there's not a lot of room to do that. If that's the case, then even the better lubricants (silicone) may be negated by the constant water stream.

I never had a problem with lubrication in the shower or anywhere with my ex.

I'm thinking she was naturally well lubed.

Well, Vaseline is fine for guys as long as they wash under the foreskin well afterward. It's probably fine for women, as well, as long as it's just external rubbing. Of course, most women come with enough natural lubrication that they wouldn't need it.

i was going to suggest the shower floor mat but then the pulse of the shower head was mentioned and ... well....
suddenly i feel the need for a shower...

but yea so long as you have a shower mat you'll be great!
Have fun :cattail:

Sorry, been busy and not back to the site.

Small shower as in shower stall, so basically a closet.

Yes, I was well lubed....inside, but anything external was really really uncomfortable. Even when not in the shower, I need a bit of lube (be it natural or not) on the outside to be comfortable.

We only ever have anal sex in the shower. Vaginas just get too dry and uncomfortable in the water. Must check out some of this silicone lube...

Bar soap and anal sex are perfect for the shower. Just sayin'.

It's generally a bad idea to use soap as a lube for any internal activity, the very chemicals that help it clean your skin and irritate the sensitive tissues in a vagina or rectum.
