Agreed.Love how passionately you talk about language
Yes, and everything that is involved. The talking, reading, listening. Communicating with locals in a language you're not really familiar with.Agreed.

I know her from that Jimmy Carr show. She seems funI love etymology.
There's a lady over here called Susie Dent and she is just amazing. I want to hang out with her
I am so glad I listened to that again because the first pass through I heard "all day I dream about stacks", which yeah- can be construed as dirty.
But then I listened a second time.
You dirty bird.

Wait…how do you pronounce buoy? (Spelled out phonetically, please!)*shakes head sadly*
It's asking too much of the nation that pronounces 'buoy' as 'booey'.
I use “queue” over “watchlist” and to describe the FFXIV duty matchmaking system’s waiting period all the timeI think we spell it "line"
If you are spelling 'queue' 'line' things are worse than I feared.
I mean, you can call the thing a different word. To be contrary. Like you like to be.....
'Muricans.
We do what we want
Nick Helm serenading Susie is probably the greatest 8 out of 10 cats moment ever!I love etymology.

And aeroplanes....
Now this Red Hot Chili Peppers song is playing in my head:I've never seen a problem with spelling it "aeroplanes" because to me, that just sounds like someone from the southeast...
"You got yourself one of those fancy air o planes I see..." I have that Han Solo/Chewbacca skill thing... I can easily understand southern speak, I just don't speak it back.
This had me laughing so hard, I was having trouble breathing.
