Pink Orchid 2026: Story Event for Women-Centric Erotica - Official Support Thread

My submission didn't get included in the list, I've messaged Laurel so we'll see if it can get added! This is the second challenge in a row that a story of mine got left off of 😔 Not sure why, I've been direct copy and pasting the suggested Note to Admin text 🤷‍♀️

Anyway, read Dandelion Green and the Sarsen Stones if you want a supernatural crossdressing sports story about why we now have Title IX protections in the United States!

To recap the last five years:

2022
The first year the event was hosted.
- 37 authors
- 45 stories
- 3 stories of 750 words, one poem
- 532 058 words

2023
The smallest year
- 28 authors
- 38 stories
- 6 stories of 750 words
- 373 528 words

2024
- 40 authors
- 55 stories
- 8 stories of 750 words
- 546 409 words

2025
- 38 authors
- 43 stories
- 1 story of 750 words
- 741 351 words

2026
- 56 authors
- 69 stories
- 6 stories of 750 words
- 767 005 words

All in all, over the years, 135 individual authors have contributed 250 stories for Pink Orchid, amounting to almost three million words (2 960 351 to be exact). This is definitely a lot more than I could've done on my own, so thank you for all! Especially to the four others who have participated every year: @AwkwardMD, @Kumquatqueen, @Trionyx and @yowser. I appreciate it.

I have a public list under my profile of all the stories (and the one poem!) throughout the years: Pink Orchid Garden

This was the last time I am hosting this event, so thank you all and hope you'll keep on writing good stories going forward, too, sexy stories where women make sense and have agency. I still think we don't have enough of that sort. Kind of a pity to quit now that the event is well established and is maybe even on sort of an upward trend (?), but it's time for me to do other things. I'll make a separate post on the time slot opening up for other events, since International Women's Day seems like a good time to do something women-centric, and I hope someone else will be motivated to host an event around this time next year. I'll make a separate post because not everyone is reading this thread, maybe it catches their eyes. God knows I've had remarks on how I'm doing this wrong over the years, maybe some of these people are eager to step in and show how it's done right 😁

But now, as they say, so long and thanks for all the fish.

My apologies for only submitting a 750-word story this time - the other story I was getting going hasn't got the first draft done yet.

I look forward to reading a bunch of the stories, as they tend to be more to my taste than a lot of Lit and help me find new authors. Thank you @Omenainen for organising and all the participants!

Token effort is still effort, and I appreciate the consistency. I haven’t kept score if people have or haven’t participated, and don’t hold it against anyone if they haven’t, life is a bitch and Things Happen, but now I nonetheless wanted to single out the most persistent supporters. I do appreciate it.

That you, Omie, for all you've done. This event has been such a high point of the year. I fail a bit ashamed that I missed one.

Thank you for doing this. This was my first Pink Orchid, so I'm one of the jump in writers this year.

Interesting to me that there were so many more contributions, but not many more words this year. @lovecraft68 and I tried to pump the word count up.

As I said in your other thread, I'm not sure I'm appropriate to run the event, but I hope someone does. It's important.

It’s been one of my selling points that 750 is at the same time, like if anyone doubts if they can do it they can start small 😁

I haven’t checked how many entries each year were 750s, but I could of course, I have spreadsheets you know.

Added the 750s to the post above. I had forgotten there was even a poem in the first year!

But but but... I only ever submitted one! And what will happen to my Space Hippies?

What, you’re still incubating your space hippies? Sounds like you have motivation to keep the event going, maybe you should consider taking it up 😁

It's not necessary to do it like I've done it, or even to have this same event. I had a fairly hands on approach but there are those who have events in much more distant fashion. For me, this was partly my answer to the "how can anyone write women!" questions, so I offered to beta read and out of curiosity I read all the entries for years. In later years I've had to be more lenient, if for nothing else than for the fact that I can't read the German ones :D

1) First and foremost, we will miss you.
2) Thank you for your hosting.
3) On a more personal note, I was surprised to see my name mentioned as having contributed four years running. And to think I almost did not contribute this year. Maybe I'll have to come up with some more next year to keep the streak going.

T.

Yes, massive thanks for organising it - it's a great event! Hope something similar fills the gap. x
