I didn't even know it was possible to get suspended from college. I thought you just got expelled? Not that I've ever had that happen to me.

Oh, I know the answer to this! And you're right. Suspension from college isn't really a thing. There's academic probation and there's expulsion. I've done both! (I've also graduated summa cum laude, so my experiences run the gamut). But yeah... generally, if you're struggling academically, they might suggest taking a semester off, before you wind up on probation. But if you're struggling with disciplinary issues, they'll give you the boot pretty quick (unless your folks are big-time donors, in which case all bets are off).

When I do interviews at work, one of the ways I explain to applicants the difference between the owner and I is pointing out that he is a college graduate and uses $30 words and I don't.

Never peed in a pool. Wasn't technically suspended from college, but was thrown out by UCSC for not showing up for class (got in the way of surfing), which is probably worse.
