Speaking of herbs and growing things.
Today’s project:
About 12 gallons of spaghetti sauce, complete with a pound of garlic, a roux made from the olive oil I sautéed said garlic in, some bay, at least 5 pounds of a mixture of pork, beef, bear, and Johnsonville Italian sausage, a shit-ton of garden tomatoes and shredded zucchini, and an almost unholy amount of oregano and dried anise.
Oh, and a good 3 or so pounds of sautéed wild shaggy mane mushrooms I and my family picked off the trails on a trip up to Ontario

I have, but I cut it in half horizontally first, put the frosting top on the bottom half, then put it in my mouth. Less messy.

I've never heard of putting anise in spaghetti sauce before. Is this because of the bear meat or do you always put that in your sauce regardless of the type of meat? I want to try it.Speaking of herbs and growing things.

Ever tried Chinese Five Spices on ribs? It has anise in it, and tastes outstanding.
