Sexual Harassment

Without knowing the details of whats going on, but based on the fact that a woman doesnt normally put themselves through the hassel of dealing with HR people unless they have to specially for this reason alone.

Why would a woman go through all of this if it wasnt what she percieves it to be.

I understand your point SeaCat, one is always innocent until proven guilty.
Just having a bit of fun to put a smile on her face!
Sorry!

What Cloudy said. And while I can't go into specifics, my question didn't involve me, but does, in fact, involve a male friend being falsely accused of SH out of revenge. It definitely happens.

Having gone through being charged with SH, I canappreciate what Cloudy said. SH is a wonderful stone to throw if you have no real weapon. At worst it buys the one who makes the charge some time.

SJ, so happy to here you were not the victim or the perpatraitor. That is a relief to all of us here. I hope your friend prevails in is defense. :rose:

Can I just say "Whew!" So here's why I was asking:

ex was accused of sexual harassment at work (falsely) but the whole thing was very much a he said, she said situation with no proof for either position, so we were very worried how it would go. The good news: it's over and he did not lose his job! Hooray.
The bad news: he received a written warning (a first and final, no less) about discussing any personal matters at work. The girl who made the accusation is still there, so I suspect there will be continued conflict there. She made the accusation against him because he reprimanded her for not doing her job (and she came out and told him she was going to go after him for it), so it'll be interesting to see what happens from here. But the good news is that he's not unemployed. :) Thanks to all for the answers here and thanks even more to all who pmed or imed me with concern and support. You guys are the bestest!

That's a relief. :rose:

I hope that anyone else involved with the "discussion" ALSO received a warning. Fair's fair, after all.

Nope. Just him. Which absolutely sucks, as his discussions only happened within the management staff and never with an associate. But he really didn't want to get everyone else in trouble so he just left it alone.

I'm very glad to hear that nothing too serious resultet from it. Although getting an unfair warning still sucks for him.

Thanks. :)
What burns me the most about the whole thing is that this bitch, I mean, girl knew exactly how to manipulate things. I HATE that women do this kind of shit because it hurts all of us. I mean, sexual harassment happens ALL the time and half the time we're afraid to speak up, and then there's people like that who make a mockery of it. Ex may be an ass, but he's not a harasser. Hell, he can hardly talk about sex to me after ten years of marriage. He's not exactly telling kinky stories to strangers.

Glad to hear things turned out well, SJ. *HUGS*

I don't think things turned out all that well. The bitch who lied got away with it, and to some misguided women, she may be looked on as a heroic victim who spoke up. The innocent party now has a negative reference in his personnel record. It could have been worse but it did not turn out well.

If you're the wife and children of the primary breadwinner and the future of your family hinges on whether or not the accused stays employed, the main goal was achieved. Life's not fair. I quit expecting it to be long ago.

True that. None of us is pleased that it turned out the way it did. That said, I really expected him to be fired, despite the fact that she's a lying bitch (actually because of that), so a corrective action is a much better alternative.

Well good thing it wasnt something that directly to you. Glad the EX came through it without too many scars.

I guess if you are the type of woman that can accuse without remorse you have bigger balls than some men! Glad to see she didnt get what she wanted out of it.
Maybe a strong letter from you stating how you believe he could never do such a thing, specially since you are his EX, sent to the layer of management that over sees repremands would help him out. As well as show the company this chicks true colours!

Just a thought,
C

-Save his nuts, that way he can make someone elses life miserable! Kidding!
