Oooo, now you're saying I'm interesting and creative and brilliant? I like that!

I know I read a little into your post but I had to because you forgot to say it ;):giggle:

(You still get extra double bonus points!)

I really love this piece. Cosmopolitan and a bit Retro all at the same time!

Plus, I've gotten into redheads lately too and there's two people on here I blame for that lol

Looks like one of those old book covers some of you were talking about earlier. I grew up reading trashy novels and I 100% admit I bought more than a few just because of the cover. Shallow, I know, but it was true. I either wanted to be the girl. Or be with the guy. Or, starting around the 11th grade, be with the girl :cattail::heart:

Thank you Pablo ;):giggle:

I love all YOUR contributions and discussion points. I wish I was half as knowledgeable about art as you are so I really really do appreciate you sharing your knowledge and expertise with the rest of us on here. It makes my silly little thread a little more classy which was my goal from the beginning.

I am not Pablo, but if I may say so...

You really do not have to be knowledgeable about art to appreciate it. If you see art that you like, that kind of speaks to you; buy it and appreciate it. If it's a priceless work, or too expensive, buy a print, or scaled down version of the original sculpture. You need not explain it to anyone, as that is not how art works. You like it, and that is all that matters. For others, they have their works of art that they like.

If you find yourself gravitating to a certain era, them research the players in that era. Learn about that era you seem to really like. For instance, I love the Pre-Raphaelite period of artists, so I know a bit about it. But an "expert"? Hardly, and I do not need to be. No one does.

But we all should appreciate and support the arts, because creativity is so, so, so incredibly rare. To make something from nothing takes talent, and while talent is spread equally throughout the world, discovery of those creative people is not so uniform.

Book covers are deceivingly difficult to create. There are so many things that go into getting one right because it takes the perfect picture to really show 90,000 words in one image. And yet when that perfect picture is found (or made by combining multiple pictures into one), it is a huge moment because as an artist you just know, that picture is IT!

Sadly, the opposite is true too. Sometimes it is just wrong... not the right one, and it is frustrating when the right picture for a book cover cannot be found or effectively created.

As I said, they seem so simple, but book covers are really difficult to pull off perfectly.

I want you in nothing but glasses. You're killing me

Thank you. I've actually gotten into wearing glasses lately. I think they give me a little air of authority that my sometimes skimpy clothing choices don't.

For instance, glasses + a blouse with a plunging neckline + a micro-miniskirt + open-toed fuck me shoes = trying too hard (at least imho lol)

But, glasses + a cute, but not too revealing top + a pencil skirt + basic black pumps = perfect!

Or, glasses + a thumb ring and nothing = really perfect (for the right occasion)

(and for the record, I was calling Picasso Pleasure "Pablo" because of ... well, I'm sure you of all people can figure out why lol)

😘

Okay, it's official ...

... I suck.

I started this thread because I couldn't find Sally Sparrow's awesome Mind Bending Sensuality thread. I thought it must have gotten taken down for some reason BUT I was wrong. It's still up and going strong.

No doubt she probably hates me now and deservedly so but we're hoping to co-exist.

I only ask that you please do NOT copy anything from her thread to this one.

Thank you.
😘

I would say you both have different tastes and perspectives in art, I can't see her bing offended. She's probably glad to see a new thread too.

Oh and this official statement about sucking will have a lot of us guy interested too 😁
