The meal was satisfying; at least as far as calming her stomach’s hunger was concerned. It was the rest of her that was starting to get spun up. She had to be careful here. The sensations from the kiss spread, leaving her to crave more, and she found herself responding until he decided to pull away. It was such a simple gesture, but where Joesph was concerned, a powerful one.
Suri caught a breath in her throat when his finger made contact. She could feel her pulse pounding as a result. Suri glanced down and wet her lips nervously.
"If you aren't in a hurry to get back to the office, perhaps we can work on making my gift into something more permanent, hmmm?”
She wondered what he meant by permanent. It was true, at some time, the code would eventually disappear. It was the nature of the energy, dispersing across the universe. She didn’t know the nature of the spell he had wound around her, so she had no way of knowing what that meant. Magic was something to respect. Playing with it was like playing with fire.
She really wasn’t in a hurry to get back to the office. All they’d do was return to researching, which was what they were now tasked to do in an official capacity. Sometimes the best Knight was the one who understood the depth of the weapon build. The question was, would others truly understand how to use them effectively? Suri was glad to be away from all that, even if it was only for a short time. Whether or not Joesph banked on the fact she would agree, he had piqued her curiosity. She glanced back up at him, “What do you have in mind?”
