Should I split a story if the first half falls very firmly into ONE category, while the second half falls very firmly into the ANOTHER?

I guess my fear is that all the top stories in Scifi/Fantasy have a focus on spaceships or fantasy worlds, while this is more character-driven.

The problem is that when people think "Fanrasy," they think Swords and Sorcery, Goblins and Wizards, convoluted worlds and hard to pronounce names.

Which it can be. But it can also be many other things.

I've written several supernatural stories that, despite featuring angels and demons, are set in the modern world and and festure characters that act very human despite their supernatural natures.

Still, its one of the least viewed categories because again, most readers make assumptions about the stories published there and aren't interested.

And I'll admit that I did that too. That's on me. Also, though, it feels like the most viewed stories on there are all like "book 4 ch 17" sorts of things, and I was intimidated at being lost in the wash of it. Like, "Oh, this is a new story in this category, I don't think I want to check that out" was my vibe.
