Silly thing heard during the Republican debates

You know what's funny about this? You're citing a charge made by Al Sharpton.

You know what else is funny? You're citing it wrong.

Sharpton meant his cabinet, not the whole administration. (Dean had senior staff that was black.)

Other than that, a fine, fine post.

Hell, for Semen that's about as good as it gets.

Moderator: "How do you know tax cuts on businesses will create jobs when the Bush tax cuts on businesses didn't create jobs" [all candidates refuse to answer]

and teh Bush tax cuts DID create jobs, unemployment was 5%

deal with it

President Clinton raised the top tax rate to 39.6 percent. During his administration an average of 2,900,000 jobs were created every year.

President Bush reduced the top tax rate to 35 percent. During his administration an average of 375,000 jobs were created every year.

I thought it was Communism... or is it Marxism? What is it suppose to be this week? I've lost track. Damn that Weiner for diverting attention away from the important issues!

I agree with Sean: don't bring facts into this; it'll make their little heads explode.

Left-wing circle jerks are no more interesting than right-wing circle jerks.

Can we get back to balling that sweet little adoptive-Milf, please?

You are correct.. because there never would have been a shuttle. Too expensive! Aren't Airplanes built by "Private Industry". Are you saying we never lost a plane? Your logic makes no sense!

Look we're trying to pretend that thread doesn't exist. It makes some people look really really bad.

You may want to review his entries in this thread before heaping any accolades on the dimster.

Perhaps you'd also like Trouvere's statements in this thread. Especially where he implies blacks are inferior to whites and hispanics have a lower crime rate because they're "half white."

I have that Eyer asshole on iggy with all the other usual clutter fuckers, so unless I'm looking at Lit on my Touch chilling out at the spot, I don't see his shit at home. Thanx.

I keep forgetting that Trouvere's that Bell Curve juicing motherfucker. He hasn't trumped that bit for so long, I thought he got over it, but...nnngggh

I didn't watch the so-called debate, I never do because they are never debates.
I did seen a follow-up interview with Bachman on the news this morning.

This is the gist, though not verbatim

Reporter: Do you think the president's health care plan is similar to Governor Romney's?
Bachman: I'll repeal obmacare if elected.
Reporter: Ok, but how strong are the similarities?
Bachman: I'll repeal obmacare if elected.
Reporter: But do you see anything in Romney's that is a good idea?
Bachman: I'll repeal obmacare if elected.
Reporter: Ok, a different question. You said that on same sex marriage that you would support....
Bachman: What I said was that I'll never go in a state where it's legal and work to overturn the law.
Reporter:But you said you would support a constitutional amendment to define it as between a man and a woman. Wouldn't that in effect overturn the state laws allowing it?
Bachman: What I said was that I'll never go in a state where it's legal and work to overturn the law.

Some things never change.

I wish someday they'd have a real debate where if a politician doesn't actually debate they are escorted off the stage and forfeit the debate.

There was a study I read in a journal article the other day, I'll try to find it... It found that when anti-gay marriage people get to know a married gay/lesbian couple they change their views on the issue like 55% of the time. But the effect was most pronounced on women. When anti-gay women get to know a married gay couple they change their position something like 70% of the time.

No wonder conservatives are rushing to ban gay teachers and ban schools from ever mentioning that homosexuality exists. Yeah they're afraid their kids are going to "catch the gay", but they're more afraid that their kids might stop being bigots like themselves.

Beat me to it.

Okay, I just read that whole fucking thread.

Fucking baby Buddha. I need a drink and a punching bag. Maybe not in that order.

Amend for effect?
No. I posted this about 8 hours after I saw it and I knew I didn't remember it verbatim..

But I found the transcript for you so you can post about how I substantively changed the meaning of her responses.

http://blogs.abcnews.com/george/201...ate-michele-bachmann-takes-the-high-road.html

The real thing makes her sound much more sane. Your post made it sound like she completely ignored the interviewer but the transcripts shows that she didn't and that he simply didn't like her answer.
Seems to me she answered ok to both. She could have elaborated on the Romney thing but didn't really need to and she said as much. She was right about the gay marriage thing, too. He just wanted her answer to be something else.

True, she replied to his questions, that's not the same as answering them. There can be a huge difference, and there was in her case.

Very true. These people are the dregs of the barrel and human sacrifices come 2012. The GOP really has no one who's world class stuff.

Part of the problem is the sense that a house is about to drop on Washington in terms of the economy. I suspect the GOP wise men prefer for the house to drop on Obama.

Actually, I should think the situation is a lot more like 1984, when Mondale ran just because some Dem had to.

She's a politician. A rather successful one at that. Of course she doesn't "answer" a question.
Still, you initially made the interview out to be much much worse than it really was. In that case the fault was more with the interviewer than anyone else.
Let her fail on her own batshit crazy merits.
