reply to Jon

As Jon's blade sank into the beast, he would see it visibly deflate. Some sort of black mist poured off the shrining body. it's teeth shrank, along with the body and laying at his feet was a normal, but thoroughly dead wolf. THe mist swirled and eddied around Jon's feet, then floated over the river and down towards the mountain.

Clancy cracked up at her impression. “I will tell you I have gained a fine ear standing outside those doors when they are faking, when they are looking for a tip, and when it’s a legitimately good fuck.” Clancy drank some of the wine, it was a little bitter, but smooth enough to drink too much.

“I have an apartment a few blocks away, smaller than this. It isn't cheap, and costs more than I make without a bonus in the month, but it’s close to work. And I have a cat, her name is Bossyboots. Found her--Rather, she found me a couple of months ago. She makes for good company, and I haven't seen a spider web since she moved in.”

He was a lot more talkative with her than he ever used to be. Although he was a lot more comfortable around her than he remembered, maybe because they were always out with the group before.

Responding to Clancy

Kasia stretches "Don't judge them too harshly for faking it. Every girl does at some point. Sometimes for coin but sometimes for love" She grins, that too wide gremlin grin that splits her face "Or so i'm told. I've never had the affliction myself." she turns towards him "Mr. Bossyboots? that's a hell of a name" she sips at her wine and looks down at it "i think I'm spoiled by the house wine" she gulps down another mouthful though "So is it your... whatever. you know like. your spirit animal or whatever you wizards call it. can you see through its eyes and all that?" she leans back, not fining the word "familiar" though being aware of the concept "or is it just a bit of stray pussy that managed to move in?"

"I think she would expect me to be her familiar." he laughed as he drank more wine. "A stray, I like all my women a bit untamed. Why should it be any different with a cat?"

He studied her, thinking about something she said. "Kasia. Has no one ever had sex with you for something other than their own pleasure?" Clancy's eyes were a little glassy from the wine, but he was far from drunk. How did she put it before? That's right, to lubricate the conversation.

Kasia smiles "I did date a few women. pretty mutual" she scoots her chair over and puts her hand on Clancy's knee "its's nice of you to be concerned though. I mean, I'm cynical about men but i'm a girl who lives in a bad neighborhood. I think i get to be" she leaves her hand in place "Let me ask you, along the same lines. Havent you ever been with a woman who didnt chew you up and spit you out after?" she leans back, crossing her legs "we aren't all vampires you know"

Clancy enjoyed the touch, his eyes hung on her for a while. "Let's just say that the two that didn't, their husbands weren't too fond of me hanging around." He sat there quietly sipping his wine, enjoying the hand on his knee. "Maybe--If the right redheaded half-elf came around, I might change my mind--" His eyes locked hard on hers. "--Know anyone like that?" He followed the comment by taking a big sip of liquid courage. Never once breaking eye contact with her.

Kasia sighs and leans forward a little bit. Her curls fall across her green eyes for a moment and she brushes them aside "One but she's no good. She lies and she steals and she owes some Heights living ass 4000 sovereigns..." she shifts a little "well assuming his kid makes it out of the catacombs. 5000 if not" she leans back a little, keeping her eyes on Clancy "she's not a great risk but ... you know. She might be fun anyway"

Clancy Dunne | Age: 33 | Profession: Gun Mage | City: Gradzlata

"Do you think she would like me? Or just use me once and be done?" He smirked, "Not that that wouldn't be fun. Once just seems too boring. Especially when I have more to offer."

Clancy knew he was playing with fire, Kasia was not known for committing to anything, or anyone. However, Clancy felt that sometimes you had to do what seemed dangerous and take a risk, to get the best rewards.

"I suppose I'm not getting into the city unnoticed NOW." Thought the Gale as she tried to nod at some fisherman she passed as casually as possible. "At least no one seems to have noticed Aumanda yet!" The barbarian woman could feel the reassuring weight of her battleax across her back. The Gale would have to rethink how stealthy a woman could possibly be while strapped to nearly six foot long, double-edged greatax. "And I was always told that city dwellers were notoriously stupid and unobservant." Paddling her arms, the Gale swam out further from the city proper. Perhaps some night swimming would help her formulate a new plan.

As the river grew broader and deeper, so to did the vegetation within it. It was not long before Aumanda had gotten snarled in river grass. At that moment the barbarian spotted what looked like a man on the shore. "Another fisherman perhaps?" She was about to call out to him when a large bestial form all but materialized next to him. The Gale butterflied forward to join the fray, but Aumanda refused to abandon her dalliance with the weeds. By the time she made it to shore, the wolf, gfor by now she could tell that the creature was in fact a wolf, had been dispatched. It's form seemed to deflate as it was washed away by the current.

"While I would have like that kill for myself, I am glad your battle was a successful one." Said the barbarian to the stranger, offering her forearm in her people's traditional greeting. As water ran from her sodden leathers and with a knot of river weeds tangled in her hair, The Gale spoke in a soft, yet guarded tone. "What is your name, warrior?"

Reply to Clancy

Kasia opens her mouth a moment then shuts it. She looks over at the window, then back to Clancy. She climbs into his lap, running her long delicate fingers through his hair "Oh Clancy" she sighs and keeps her face close to his "THat's a really good fucking question and I just don't know the answer" She leans in, but then lifts her chin and kisses his forehead "You can stay, the streets aren't safe even for a big bad wizard like you" she runs her fingers along his scalp, then slips out of his lap "Though if you're Mistress Bossyboots would be mad you don't have to" She snags the wine, pouring herself another cup and downing it before leaning against the windowsill. "up to you."

Kasia's finger's across his scalp sent goosebumps down his neck and arms. There was something there. Sure there was risk and uncertainty. She was a thief after all, but he didn't want to change that. It added to the adventure.

"The Mistress has food and can hunt, I may get chastised when I get home, but I think I can take it." He handed Kasia his cup for a refill. "As for this redheaded beauty, maybe she would be interested in seeing how much fun we have together and take it from there. Not taking the risk would be a definite loss for us both." He took the refilled cup from her and held her green eyes with his blue.

Kasia considers a moment, then wanders back over. She kneels down in front of Clancy, running her fingers along his breeches. She pauses at the apex of his thigh, then runs her fingers back down along to his knee "If you want, I'll suck your cock" she smiles and looks up at him. She worries a full red lip with her new even teeth, then darts her agile pink tongue out to run along the upper "I mean, if you wouldn't rather just sit around and talk about imaginary redheads" she runs her fingers back up, seeking the bulge of his manhood, gently brushing along it through the material of his clothing. She tosses her mane of red curls back over her shoulder, eyes watching his face "I mean we could always talk about the theater or something. Seen any good plays lately?"

"We can let the imaginary girl go. I was only using her to make you jealous," he teased. He leaned closer to her face, brushing her curls to the side before they sprang back. "I think that your first suggestion seems the most promising, however, on the condition that you let me take care of your needs at the same time. Then it will be an experience to remember for both of us." His eyes were giving her a longing look, "Besides, I can't tell you how long I have wanted to get my mouth between your legs." His hand caressed the side of her soft face, followed by his eyes and head motioning to the mattress in the corner.

"I thought the cat was named bossyboots" she keeps her fingers running along his cock, then sits back a little "It hasn't been my experience that a man puts strings on getting a girl's mouth on his dick. By the gods im half afraid youll make me marry you to get it up my arse" she rolls her eyes at him and leans back in, biting at the inside of his thigh "you want your cock sucked or not, silly man?" she runs her fingers along his hips "I mean if you just wanna cuddle that's fine" the last sentence said without her omnipresent grin or smartassery "for real it'd be fine, but... also your loss."

Clancy stared at her a moment. She definitely liked things on her terms. "I think--for now I will settle with fine. I like things to be on even footing." He smiled at her showing there were no hard feelings, still stroking her face a moment longer.

He wasn't going to tell her that he didn't trust her enough yet to be the only one of them prone, half-naked, and unguarded. Not that there weren't risks rolling around with the sexy thief before him, but her refusal caused him more reason to be suspicious.

Kasia peels out of her tunic as the summer weather, even here by the sea, is far too warm to be curled up clothed. she leaves her leggings on, but heads over to a small cabinet and pulls out a stone, popping it in her mouth. Clancy might recognize it as a bit of hedge wizardry. The stone itself was common and held enchantment well, but was pumice-like in its makeup and therefor would physically degrade, making it worthless for any enchantment of substance. Some enterprising men had taken to putting cleaning spells on them, and it was the new fashion to use them to clean the mouth and freshen the breath. she pops it out and runs a little bar of it overherself, then sits on the mattress, patting it. "Clancy its not that I dont want to fuck you. It's that i do. That's the problem" she shrugs and her perky little tits move with the motion. She's freckled all over, extensively on her shoulders and upper arms "come curl up with me ok?" she bats her big green eyes at him and pats the mattress again.

Clancy kicked off his boots, laid his jacket on the chair, and followed suit to remove his shirt but keeping his pants on. He smiled at her wording, and despite not knowing the reasons, he had been in that place before.

His body was thin, but muscles well defined. Unlike others of his profession, he often referred to as a 'book mage' tended to focus purely on the magical arts. They needed to use them for both attack and defense. Whereas when you were in a firefight, you needed to move, move fast, and have the reflexes to still fire and hit your target.

Laying down next to her, seeing her expose herself comfortably to him, made him feel reassured he made the right choice. He looked into her eyes as she spoke, his hand running up and down her freckled arms.

Kasia settles in "you know how usually, when you say to a guy... well i don't know if you've ever said this to a guy... but when you say to someone 'its not you its me' there's that unspoken bit "and me doesnt like you.' well for me its the opposite" she laughs and turns onto her side, facing away from him so he can comfortably spoon her "I always liked you. its why i've never fucked you. I'm a gods be damned mess, Clancy" She nestles back against him, wriggling her narrow hips to press her ass into his crotch "by the way, this" she wriggles side to side "is why i offered to suck your cock first. YOu better not be hitting me in the back with that thing all night" She pulls his hand to her small chest and sighs "thanks for being you know... relaxed about all this"

Clancy pulled her against him tightly and softly kissed the back of her neck. He laughed as she wiggled against him and preemptively chastised him for making sleep uncomfortable. "Thank you for telling me how you feel Kasia. I'm not exactly altogether myself, only figuring out how not to completely fuck up now. So let's do this job together, and things will happen--or they won't." He embraced her firmly but without crushing her. Feeling her soft skin against his chest, he felt relaxed and secure. As good as her mouth would have felt, he knew he needed this more.

Kasia is, like a veteran campaigner, out immediately. Her soft snoring fills the small apartment as the candles burn down to nothing. In the morning when Clancy wakes she's already extricated herself from his embrace and is in the process of shrugging into what looks like new, custom fit leather armor from a nearby chest. She looks over her shoulder "i thought we could have a look at what's between here and the crypts, make sure the little prince doesn't have any real suprises before we get to the tomb of his honored ancestors" she ties her hair up and works a cap over it, then gestures to a small bag with a loaf of pogacha bread and a little hard cheese. "Eat, and then we can be off." she herself sits, eating a peach and watching Clancy do whatever his particular morning routine is "do we have to stop by and deal with your cat?"

Valen wasn't fond of cities.

That wasn't entirely fair to them, perhaps, but then the reason he wasn't overly fond of them was a matter that was entirely personal. Part of that had to do with growing up in the Whisperwood, whose eerie boughs and fog covered trails made journeying among its hamlets ill advised at the best of times. But most, Valen would admit, came from the general disinterest city-folk held for the Twins. Oh, they called them something else here, no doubt, different places always did. But the Twins were always the Twins, no matter the form they took. He thought it was likely that men and women living among a place that had such a lust for gold and trade and finer things didn't want to consider what came after, when all that wealth meant nothing.

But the Twins would find them eventually, as they always would. As they had guided him here.

He glanced up as he passed through the gateway, having handled his entry with little fan fair, and spotted the raven sitting in the recesses of the wall. Mother Raven was guiding him well. He'd seen other paladins before in glittering breastplates upon white steeds. They drew attention to themselves, inspired onlookers with their mere presence. He looked nothing like them. His clothing was the worn wear of a traveler, chainmail hidden beneath his traveler's jerkin. He'd seen better days, but weeks of travel without any real time to rest was wearing on him.

Stepping into the main street, he was left with little idea of where to go. But his eyes remained trained on the Raven, waiting patiently for a sign and, failing that, considering the need to visit the local temple of to the Twins, or however they were known among the locals.

Replying to Valen

As Valen entered, like Jon and the Gale before him he'd see that the area was poor but clean, just inside the gate. The city was bisected by the river which ran down to the harbor, the main point of entry since the city was sheltered by land by the mountains. He would have been told that there were minor shrines to the twins with lay priests who performed burials sprinkled throughout the city, which many of the gods temples being small and neighborhood based. This kept the wealthy from having to mingle with their lessers, and the poor from having to deal with the attitude of the rich. The true temple though, the one that would give succor to those of his order and perform true miracles with the blessing of the divine, was in the catacombs beneath the city in the ruins of the Homines Citta De Mare.

There were entrances to those catacombs, with a coin for the Duke or with a letter. With either, Valen could make his way into the undercity. There he would find, in an ancient temple to the twins from the time of the ruined Bright Empire, the temple he sought. Here the twins were a single maiden, with her body bisected. The right half gestured in peaceful repose, and the left held aloft a sword. The expression of the right half was one of calm, and the expression of the left half of the face grim determination.

"Good plan," He rolled off of the mattress and made his way to the washbasin. Splashing his face and washing his hands, he got himself cleaned up before getting the rest of his clothes on.

Answering her question from earlier as he pulled on his boots, "I would like to drop by my apartment. I'll ask my neighbor if her daughter can watch Bossyboots over the next few days. That way, I won't have to worry if we are gone longer."

He put his hands on Kasia's shoulders and massaged them for a few moments before grabbing a peach and some bread. "Ready when you are, I can eat while we walk."
