Siobhan's fantasy epic of eipc fantasy (open, PM me first)

Dieter sighs and nods, "Yeah, but they aren't incredibly reliable. Well, maybe they are reliable but she hasn't been seen recently. And the last time someone saw her she was heading into the catacombs. So that's still the plan for now. Get down there and try to find her, try to help her, then get out of there. With any luck I'll be able to pull it off and get her out safely." He pauses and stops walking for a moment. "Or the person feeding me this information is full of it and is leading me on for his own gain. But only time will tell, I can only go off of what I hear for now. Then do what I can to make sure she's okay and hope we can make it back in one piece." He chuckles half heartedly. "At least you all have each other. Staying in the sand area is a good idea in a crazy place like this. Being unique and alone around here definitely isn't ideal."

The tailor grins "well, it sounds like SOMEONE has learned the first lesson of Gradzlata. EVERYONE wants to fuck you. Maybe like me they just want to tie you up and stick their actual dick in you, but everyone wants to fuck you some way or another" He laughs and sets to working as he talks, measuring the silk twice, pinning it and marking it then starting to cut it. "Everyone wants something, my boy. Whether its just 15 minutes in your mouth or the gold in your pouch. Everyone's working an angle."

Dieter chuckles and smiles as he shakes his head. "Amd yet here you are, wanting both from me. At least you're actually working for the gold, not just giving me information that may or may not be of any use." Dieter smirks as he walks around the shop, watching the elf work. "Though if you want more than just my gold you're running out of time. I'll be heading down to the catacombs soon, who knows if I'll make it back." He laughs as he leans against the counter. "Unfortunately you have your hands full for a while making my order. Can't have you rush that, wouldn't want it to look sloppy, I expect only the best! Though to be tied up.. That's a shame, it does sound like a fun time." After a few moments he takes a few steps away from the counter and stretches. "Maybe I should head off to the temple. Wouldn't want to keep you distracted all day now would i?"

"You're a gods be damned tease you little tart." The tailor laughs "better watch out or Ill have Tiberious enchant your coat to tie you up and teleport you here any time I want" he winks, and Dieter knows such enchantments are probably not possible. "Go on with you then, run off to temple. Get down on your knees for a different kind of prayer."

Dieter looks at the elf with a shocked face. "A tease? Me? No, no that doesn't sound like me at all!" He laughs and shakes his head. "Now wouldn't that be a marvelous new coat? Tell him he should start working on that, it'd be quite the breakthrough. Everyone would want one of those costs! Oh well, I'm off to get down on my knees and beg someone to join me down in the catacombs. Hopefully my sweet mouth can convince them huh?" He laughs as he exits the shop and heads to the temple. When he arrives he stares at the temple again, loving how it looks and the size of the building itself. He waits outside until sundown for Sister Anja to show up and tries to wave her over when she shows.

Dieter steps over to meet her. "Thank you for sending Demetrios with me for the meeting last night. I met with a messenger this morning who gave me a little more information. I'm going to travel down into the catacombs. Demetrios has agreed to help, I'll have someone along who is good with traps and what not, me of course, and I'll need someone who is tough and can hold their own. I figured I would ask you first. You keep demetrios in check, and you seem like an interesting person. Of course you may feel free to say no, but if you have another recommendation in your stead, I would appreciate it." He quiets down for a moment to let her speak, wondering if she will actually agree.

In the early evening light of the moon, Anja's hair shines like burnished silver. Her smile, while cold, is slightly warmer than her demeanor the night before "Demetrios is in need of a wrangler. He's a sucker for a pretty face of either gender and I knew he'd run down to the earth with you if you asked. So yes, he will have me as a keeper and the party will have me as a shield. I have already made arrangements with the others to take my position on guard duty. Honestly, there's little that seeks to trouble us up here. The location is remote, the air is thin and cold...and we have no lay priests. Each of us is mighty enough to handle a few brigands. We will help you find what there is to find" Careful not to promise to find his sister, as she might not be there to be found.

Dieter laughs and nods as she talks. "Nothing wrong with that, a pretty face is a pretty face. Though I think he volunteered himself before I even asked. I am glad you'll be there to keep him in check when he needs it though." He looks at her hair shining in the moonlight before looking up at the moon. "I appreciate you doing this, the both of you. I know there's no guarantee that she's down there, it could be nothing but danger.. I'm glad I have some company with me at least. My coat will take a few more days to make, until then do what you must to get ready. If there's anything you think we will need down there, let me know. I can buy the supplies we need or anything that might come in handy. I need to get ahold of Kemal to let him know what the plan is now." Dieter turns his attention back to Anja, "Any preference on when we head down? Whether it be day or night? Either is fine with me, but I'm sure others have a preference."

Anja hmmms "tell me now and tell me true, Genasi. Is your sister a witch or a warlock? Demetrios is overly trusting but he can sense things. Presences. There was something there and yet not there. Not possessed but leading her by the nose." The priests of Luna were fighters of evils that came in the night, and while some warlocks were good they were wary "Do we walk into something if we find her?"

Dieter thinks for a moment. "Well, she's magical, but I always assumed she was like me and just born with it. I don't think she's a warlock, but from what I've heard about her when she was here at the temple, who knows? I'll try and think back over the next few days if I can recall anything that stuck out in out past that might give me a clue. But people change, becoming a warlock is easier than most think sometimes. It's been a while since I've seen her. If we get down there and something is wrong, you all can go, and I'll take care of her if that's what it comes down to. I won't put you all at risk if I don't have to. Not that going isn't already a risk. But risking yourselves for her isn't part of the deal." He shrugs but hopes it doesn't come to that. But he had no idea what they'd find when they went down into the catacombs.

Anja nods "it could have been a wizard or something. Someone communicating magically without controlling her. it's hard to say" She turns "we will come pick you up in a few days... unless you need more time? When were you hoping to get down there?"

Dieter bods, "Well I'm having a cloak made, which will take another four days at least. I don't want to leave before that, it will add some protection for me down there. But after that we can set out. I will send an update if it will be done before that. Have a nice night, I will see you in a few days Anja." Dieter turns to leave and puts his hood up. He heads back to the Whorish Mermaid for a late night drink and sleep. He smiles wondering how rowdy it'll be tonight and if any good music will be playing when he gets there.

As the young Genasi Volk approached the door, a small urchin pops into the street in front of him, speaking in the local tongue and holding out its hand. The distraction is just a moment, but suddenly there's a knife at his back, and in poorly accented Homines "Where's your purse?" the stink of rotten teeth and unwashed denizen of the basin filling his nostrils.

Dieter sighs, finally getting his first taste of the rotten side of the city. He mutters a spell and teleports away from the two. "Look, I really don't want to kill you two. I'm not one to be messed with, leave now and leave with your lives. I won't ask a second time." Bright blue flames appear in his hands as he gets ready to attack if they choose not to do as he says. Not usually being one to kill unless need be he didn't want to kill them. But he would if it that's what it came down to.

Harrison, Archaeologist

The two weeks after arrival were not spent idly by Harrison. After spending the day after Miray's visit unpacking and spelunking with Grimgur, the team lead spent his time learning the city. He also spent time at the taverns where other delvers spent their time and money. He listened to stories and traded for maps. He wanted every advantage he could muster before going down into the deep.

Every time that Miray would visit, he'd have a lovely dinner waiting and would spend the evening entertaining. However, he learned in time that she was really coming by for some time upstairs. He didn't mind; given their working relationship, it was probably for the better. It didn't serve either of them to get overly attached given the dangers before them.

Harrison understood, even if he was a bit crest-fallen every time he woke up alone. He had other things on his plate that demanded his time. He spent the last few days before the cleric's arrival updating his map as best he could. He used drafting and geometry to do his best to estimate an area under the city that would give them the best chance of finding a relic from the old palace. Whether or not this new opening took them there would be a matter of the delve.

Even if they never found the vault, this new opening needed mapping and if it was as untouched as he hoped, they might bring back a new piece of history to the surface. When the cleric arrived, he went to the sunken temple to meet them. Given that they would be delving together, Harrison wanted the chance to meet them before bringing them in to meet the others.

The place felt darker and more claustrophobic this visit somehow. He proceeded to see if Jadzia was on hand to meet with him and make introductions. Otherwise, he wasn't sure which of the faithgul around him was the cleric answering his summons.

reply to Dieter

Magic, real magic, was not all that common on the streets, and in this part of town it was mostly low powered recently apprenticed wizards that a man with a knife could get the jump on and carve up like a Yuletide goose. Dieter disappearing and reappearing down the lane was enough to send the footpad running in terror. The urchin had the presence of mind to say "thanks now i'll catch a beating" running off while flipping Dieter the bird over his shoulder. Dieter could see a body or two slinking away in the corner of the shadows, other men perhaps who had the same notion. At least he should go unmolested the rest of the way home.

Reply to Harrison

Jadzia led Harrison into the back. In the gloom of the sacristy was a grim faced, tall blond man. he was solidly built, perhaps not as much so as the paladins keeping guard at the door, but definitely more than Harrison. As he unfolded from the chair he was tall, even for a Ludowy who tended to be tall. he gave a nod, then waited for Jadzia to make the introductions.

"This is Jan. He's an experienced priest and he's been clearing the Zielone Wyżyny of its wraiths along with some paladins. As they've been succesful in eliminating some of the barrows that generate the wraiths and setting the unquiet dead to rest, he has some time to devote to this project."

"Perhaps a month." The man pipes up in crisply accented Homines. "I understand that this is a favor to the Duke" he didn't sound overjoyed to be called away from his other tasks "And so I will endeavor to give it my all. I understand how much we rely on the Duke's good graces to be permitted to carry on our work underground here. His predecessor deemed it best that the adventurers that come here have 'something to occupy themselves' and was somewhat hostile to our work. Kazimir is a good man" He shifted a bit "but Duke Jakub at home is also a good man and he deserves to have his wraiths set to rest permanently. Fortunately the barrows are not easy to find and it will take some divination and time to ferret out the last of them. So I can give you some of mine, though sooner for this expedition is obviously better."

Dieter shrugs and the flames disappear from his hands. "Should've picked someone else then." He shrugs as he walks into the Whorish Mermaid. As he heads in he avoids any of the fighting going on and orders a drink. He looks around the crowd seeing if anyone catches his eye. Before turning his attention to the music. He takes a few sips of his drink as he listens. After finishing his first drink he gets the waiter to grab him another and he starts working on it. After some time he heads upstairs to bed wondering what the next day will bring.

As he woke up the next day he went downstairs for breakfast. He headed off to the elf's shop again since he was asked to stop by after a couple days. As he heads up to the shop he walks inside and greets the elf with a wave and a smile. "Good morning, how is the coat coming along? Is it time to try it on for a fitting yet?" He walks over to the elf and leans against the counter as he talks.

The tailor nods "always time for you." he goes into the back and fishes out what looks like the start of a coat. The tailor helps him into it, and then starts fastening it "so how's this fit? it has to be loose enough for you to move but tight enough that you can't be stabbed by sort of going down the neck" he fusses about, trying to mark where the buttons would go if there were buttons, based on the draw of the coat and pinning it.

Dieter moves around the store for a minute before moving his arms like he was casting a spell. He stretches and jumps making sure it will be okay no matter what he's doing. "Maybe a little tighter? Other than that it feels great. I don't think I'll need it for more than moving around and casting some spells but you never know. As long as I don't have to go swimming in it I think it'll be just fine." He walks back over to the elf to take off the coat. "I have my party ready to go, so when this is done we will be heading down to the catacombs. Makes sure my ass is safe, I'd hate not to make it back up here." Dietee shoots the elf a wink and takes the coat off.

The elf marks the coat here and there, so that it can be altered "please don't go swimming in it. even enchanted against rain the silk would spot. It would ruin my reputation and you would look quite shabby" he sniffs and sets to work as he talks to Dieter "best of luck in the catacombs. I mean that. I can hardly take credit for making you look AMAZING if nobody sees your undead body acting as some elder god's butler in the deepest reaches of the city catacombs"

Dieter laughs and nods. "Don't swim, and don't die. I will do my best to avoid both. Unfortunately you never know what's going to happen, so no promises." Dieter stretches and leans against the counter after the elf finishes his work. "I appreciate everything you're doing. I'm going to do my best not to die. And then I'll flaunt this coat all around the city once I'm back. Make sure everyone knows who kept me alive down there and the great work he did making this incredible coat. You have my word on that, if I make it back at least." He laughs and looks back at the elf.

Harrison looked up into the face of the rather disappointed looking cleric. Hearing his story, he knew it wasn't without reason. Nothing bothered Harrison more during his years of study than being called away to fix someone else's problem. Offering his hand to the taller, blonder man, he led with an apology. "I am sorry to call you away from such an important task. No one wants to wander in fear of the restless dead. I hope we can return you to your work as soon as possible. On behalf of myself, I appreciate you answering my call. While you came out of respect for the Duke, I want you to know I do not take that lightly. When our business is concluded, I hope we can part as friends."

Whether the cleric took his hand or not, he introduced himself. "My name is Harrison Colt and I am the lead on this expedition. I have two more in our company ready to meet you on the morrow when you have had time to recover from your journey. Since our entrance is very near to this temple, we can meet you here. Do you have any questions or desire to meet them before we set off on our delve tomorrow?" Harrison lingered, knowing he'd prepared as best he could for this descent. While not an expert on undead, he hoped he could answer whatever else might give Jan pause about him or the mission.

"to be fair, not swimming and not dying are the same thing" The elf makes a face "The river is full of shit and the harbor is full of sharks."He keeps working "so yes, stay out of water for your health and your coat" he winks and looks down, making careful measurements as he talks "come back tomorrow for another fitting then its off to Tiberius for enchanting. Should be ready at the end of the week. Found anything to do while you were in town?"

The man nods "Father Jan Wojcik." He looks around "if you know anything at all about the region or what we are facing, I'll want to know. IF you've already done some sort of briefing, then just give me the same run down you gave your group. If not, I'll come sit in on the briefing. I find that hearing the questions of others sparks my own. If there's not much to know then just tell me that' He laughs for the first time. "It would not be even close to my first foray into the largely unknown on some ridiculous boondoggle." He rolls his shoulders a bit and then relaxes "I'm sure if the Duke wants the area cleared then it is either something powerful or something close to the surface or both. One does not receive a summons with a royal connection for a pack of skeletons in some deep dark forgotten crevasse. At least" he looks over at Jadzia "I hope my skills warrant more than that"

She rolls her eyes at them, and the banter suggests a prior relationship. He returns his attention to Harrison "So Mr. Colt, anything you know would be helpful. I won't have any questions till I've heard the basics."

Dieter chuckles and makes a face. "Well, shockingly I don't like water to begin with. So I'll make sure I avoid it at all costs. As for finding anything to do in the city.. No, not yet. Though finding a better place to sleep is now on my list. Couple of idiots tried to mug me last night. Not that they succeeded or even got close mind you. But I figured avoiding that area at night again might be a good idea. I heard of a couple other places so who knows. I have options it just figuring out which is best." He let's the elf do his work as he talks. "Tomorrow for another fitting huh? Okay, I can make sure I swing by in the morning at least. Pretty good way to kill some time at least."
