I wore a one-piece swimsuit that was low cut in the front with a v-neck and cut high on the sides. It was this wild purple print.. sort of hard to describe... deep purple with a paisley type metalic-gold print that also had raspberry and orange in it. Loved that suit!

Well zetacon, I actually used to go to a nudist colony occasionally
when I lived in Louisiana. It was quite the experience. Of course
a lot of people don't know this, but the male erection is banned
at these places. Yes it is true. If a male gets an erection he must
either cover or leave until he gets himself, ahem, shall we say
composed. I enjoyed it, though it was different. And as is par for
the course sometimes, there wasn't a lot worth getting all excited
for anyway. Well the girlfriend I had at the time was quite an
open minded young lady, wow. We did get it on good there
once, but we chose to use the members kitchen area to, say,
take care of matters. Smiles and nothing more or less.

So lets just say that we do have a nudist beach because also
something that is also unknown by many is that ANY private
beach in Hawaii has legalized nudity. As long as no one "off" the
property can see you, and be offended or complain, then it is
quite okay to be naked naked naked all the time. Consider

It was late spring 1978. My best friend Donald T. (he was my main buddy at Kelly AFB), came into the comm center one day. He was all GRINS. Just floating. And he came up to me and said "Rick, I wanted you to be the first to know. My wife and I are moving to Hawaii! I just got my orders for PCS there!". Well needless to say my jaw dropped open and my eyes got bigger than Texas. I was instantly envious but him being my best friend, happy for him, and just curious. I said "How the hell did you manage that?" And he said, "Well Rick that's why I wanted to tell you first. There are some requirements left open there! If you go apply at such n such on base right away, you just might be able to go there too!"

(The Roadrunner had NOTHING on me that day. LMAO)

I was there lickedy split. I mean THERE in minutes. I told my supervisor, R. Banks at the time, I gotta go! I gotta go! and he thought I needed to go to the bathroom (roflmao). He was a nice man, though a naive one. more next post (you gotta hear this)

Well he let me leave, and I got in my car which was now a 1972 AMC Gremlin ( the name says it all, it was possessed, there is no doubt in my mind! That is a GREAT story for the story thread I have!), and headed to the base office where I could apply.

I'll never forget thinking "Rick, don't get your hopes up. Really. I knew I was going to lose a good friend. That was actually my greatest concern. I don't mean lose him, lose him. I was going to miss Donald more than he could have ever, ever known. He was such a source of inspiration to me. (You all would be surprised just how much a source of inspiration you are for me here! And that IS FACT!).

So I drove there and went in and applied. Returned back to work and I daydreamed all day, and looked at Donald and just shook my head. I am a well liked person in most any arena. I have the way of just making people feel GOOD about being with me. I don't know what it is. I make friends so easily, well at least I used too anyway. Well, anyway, I forgot all about it. Wow! You pick colors just as I would. I can almost see it in my mind as you describe it. I so love purple and other warm colors with it. I would love to see a picture of that if you can find one.
You can just put it on and pretend you are on a warm sunny beach with all of us. I am sure that picture would warm us up nicely here in this deep freeze!

So weeks passed, oh I guess about a month or so. I forgot all about it. Donald was only a week away from leaving. It was July 1978. A intra-office envelope arrived at the office with my name on it. It was my orders to go to Hawaii (happy tears). I couldn't believe my eyes! I just couldn't. I looked at the papers over and over and over and didn't say a WORD to anyone.

Then all of a sudden. "YAAAAHOOOOOO!!!!. YAAAAHOOOOO!!!
Everybody in the place just looked at me with this "Rick are you okay look". I wasn't known to be really out spoken at all. They all came over and said "What is going on, what IS IT?"

I said "I'M GOING TO HAWAII!!! I'M ACTUALLY GOING TO GET TO SEE HAWAII. I just don't know what to say, or anything!!"

So Donald wasn't at work that day. He had already been released from office duty to take care of the moving details, etc, etc. Gordon, my first son, wasn't even a year old. So I went home to tell my wife. Now understand something about my wife. She was 16, when we got married, and I was 19. Her birthday was November 19th, 1959 and mine January 7th, 1957. We were younguns. So here she is not even but 18 and me 21 when I got the orders. She wasn't as happy as I was. That surprised me. I thought what woman would NOT want the chance to visit Hawaii, let alone LIVE there. (Well I didn't know a few things about her.. [unfaithful habits]). So anyway, as soon as I had a chance I called Donald and told him, and he was just Ecstatic for me! I'll never forget him saying "Damn, I leave the continental United States, trying to get away from your ass, and you STILL are going to be around me!" and of Course he was playing with me.
