Manu, you out there?

Got a couple of things I'd love to see happen on the Latest Activities dashboard that I'm very sure are easy tweaks.

1. When you get a "XXX commented on your story ZZZZ" entry in the list of activities, and the ZZZZ part is a link, could it open the comments on the story with "Newest First" Selected, instead of the way it does now, with Oldest First selected? There's no way any author wants that - they want to see the NEW comment, not the old ones. It's literally one param as a pass through to the page, and the page code needs to look at the incoming param list. It's really cheap and easy and is just a nice nod to how this is going to be used by authors.

2. Can we have a filter on the Activity list that is "Comments from readers" button? That just shows the list of comments that readers have placed? As an author, I'm going to be honest and say I could care less about whether someone has favorited a story or is following me. I think that 95% of authors just don't care that much in that this is the information they primarily want from the activities list? They want to get to the comments. Having a filter so that's all that is seen is helpful.

3. And while we are at it, can we store in cookies (or as a back end DB setting on the profile) what the last settings was for opening the activities page? So if I have selected the My Comments filter as the current view, then when I come back, that's what is selected when reopening the page?

Honestly, I do this sort of thing for a living (run a software development company), and I'd even be willing to do this work for free; it's just a little scratch in my eye that I can't stop rubbing. It would be So Nice to address these.

I'm fairly sure others will have suggestions? By all means post here if you do.

I’ve been hearing there is a long-standing bug with notifications, where the “X added your story to favorites” actually means it’s been added to one of X’s lists.

If that’s true, it seems like an easy fix to introduce a distinct notification type for those events. Ideally it should include a link to the list, i.e., “X added your story to list Y.”
