Smallville: Redux

Steve looked at the pair of young ladies. First at Lois who he offered a grin and then to Karen who he just looked and also offered a smile of sorts too. “Excuse me Miss but my names Steve. Steve Rogers. I only live up the road at the next farm about five miles or so.

“I sort of looked around a while ago and was wondering if there were any chores I could help you folks with. You see mine take up no time at all. Since its not a working farm. I’m not looking for money but if you could spare a meal maybe once a week. I don’t mind working matter of fact I find it good exercise actually.”

Steve had a bad feeling like he was going to get shot down pretty quickly. He had always gotten these feelings from time to time and he really had no idea where they came from.

Karen's face almost crumbled. The farm in disrepair? She hadn't taken the time to look around when she got back to notice it.

First there was no sign of dad, and now this guy was telling her Jonathan's pride and joy wasn't it's usual neat as a pin self? Oh god, no. Did Jor-El kill dad? Had he lied to Clark and her?

"Umm, I'll talk to mom about the chores thing Steve," Karen's voice cracked, "If you two will please excuse me, Clark's sick form something he ate and I am exhausted after our trip. I need to talk to my mother and get settled back in here." Keep it together girl, dad might just be away for one reason or the other.

She turned and half stumbled, catching herself and walked towards the barn. She turned back over her shoulder "I'll have Clark get in touch with you Miss Lane, and I promise you Steve, I will talk to mom about the chores. And there's almost always enough to feed another mouth here."

Turning back towards the barn she felt the tears start. What was wrong here? Where was dad? She went to the barn and slipped through the large double doors and went up the stairs to Clark's loft.

Martha heard the door open, and her heart jumped into her throat as she saw her daughters face. "Karen?" she started, but the younger girl cut her off.

"Mom, where's dad?" Martha went to her daughter and wrapped her arms around her and began crying herself.

The two women cried for a bit and then Martha brought Karen up to speed on the state of the Kent family and Smallville as well.

The Next Morning

He slowly opened his eyes. The instant he did however made him wish he hadn’t. His head was already hurting and the bright sun light that wasn’t helping it much. He groaned out loud and slowly began to stir When he sat up he looked around, he didn’t recognize anything. He wondered where he was, for that matter, who he was. As he looked around what looked to be some sort of refurbished loft. There was a telescope in front of an open door that served as a window. He slowly turned his head and took in the rest of the area and then as he looked at the other side of the room he saw her. An older woman, she looked familiar to him but he didn’t know why. She was asleep in a chair next to his bed.

Martha Kent had stayed up watching over her son for as long as she was able. However being human, her body eventually gave away to exhaustion. She probably would have still slept if it wasn’t for hearing some movement. She opened her eyes and saw Clark sitting up in his bed looking at her.
She practically jumped out of the chair and into his arms and began to kiss him all over his face as the tears followed down her face.”Oh Clark… my boy. I was so afraid you wouldn’t wake up.”

Did she just call him…Clark. He didn’t say anything.

Finally she pulled away with a smile on her face and wiped away some of the tears. “Well say something.” She told him.

“Who are you?” he asked her.

That wasn’t something she had expected.

It had been a long night with a lot to assimilate. Karen had an idea now why the Lane woman had been by last night. Chloe dead. Grieving family would surely seek out the girl's best friend. She might have to try to shelter her twin until he was ready.

Mom had dropped off into sleep just before the sun had begun to peek over the horizon. Karen had gone out, scared stupid about the farm and found to her relief that maybe just maybe the Rogers boy had been exaggerating about how bad the farm was in hopes of a job or, as she remembered to her own shame, a meal or two. That boy would be here more than he probably expected too if Karen had anything to say about it. Martha had raised her like that.

The workers arrived to a view that made one or two leer and the rest give small sounds of amused appreciation. Karen stood before them in her usual work clothes. Her "Daisy Duke" short shorts, the flannel shirt tied up between her breasts, and the brown hiking boots. Her long blond hair up in a high pony tail.

"Okay guys," she said, "Thank you for keeping this place alive, but, it's time to bring the farm up to my father's standards. Those of you from here in Smallville know what that means."

Yep one or two very quiet groans came from the farm hands. They knew what that had meant. Perfection.

"Also, there's going to be another hand in here as of tomorrow. His name is Steve Rogers. Make him fit in, okay? I'd really appreciate it."

She gave the men their marching orders for the morning and went into what she found to be, an outdoor kitchen to make sure the workers' breakfast would be ready when they came in for their next set of chores. This hadn't been cheap but Mom had had help from some very well to do people. Mom was good at that.

She managed a large urn of coffee that seemed more forgiving with Karen's heavy hand with the coffee scoop, A huge iron fry pan of home fries were started next, followed by sausage and bacon. The guys would have to live without biscuits this morning. The girl knew better than to even try it. Mom had very nicely asked her to never burn biscuits again and Karen had eagerly obeyed that request.

Once the late morning chores would be assigned and Karen could go check on her twin before heading to the hospital to sit with Dad. As that thought settled in up in the loft Martha pulled away with a smile on her face and wiped away some of the tears. “Well say something.” She told him.

“Who are you?” he asked her.

That wasn’t something she had expected. Her face went from joyous to concerned. "You don't remember me Clark? Do you remember your sister? Jonathan?"

Martha rose from the bedside and went to the "window" and called out "Karen? I need you up here right now, please. Clarks awake."

Without a thought Karen turned off the propane stove and went up to Clark's room. "What's up mom?" she turned to Clark "How you doing?"

Steve's early morning activities

Steve rolled out of bed at the crack of dawn like most mornings and had breakfast along with his shower and shave. Breakfast was usually bacon and runny eggs since he really was not the best at frying eggs.

He then went out and patted down the only animal on the farm and well that was Tom an old Morgan horse who he rode each sunset out in the fields. He gave him his usual diet of hay and a three quarter bag of oats.

He then took a look around and saw nothing that needed doing. So he went to the barns loft that he turned into a gym of sorts and started to work out lightly. Practicing what he was told was a form of aikido strikes and kicks About twenty minutes later he walked down the ladder and checked on things and removing the horses feed bag and decided to go back inside and grab another cup of coffee as he got cleaned up a bit and came out and watched the two deer run in the hay field.

Clark took in the woman's questions. And although he had a feeling he knew her somehow, he didn't know who she was. Then the other woman, much younger and a blonde came in he had a stronger sense of familiarity with her, shewas like something out of a distant dream to him. He then looked at the older woman and simply shook his head. "No I don't." he told her.

He then turned to the girl, after all he didn't want to feel rude. "Fine I guess. Who are you?" he asked her.

Part of Steve's morning.........

Steve had to go into town to pick up some tools and grain for the horse he kept. When he got to the store across the street he saw something that truly bothered him. When he saw an old veteran who was down on his luck being pushed around by a couple of people who were in his class shoving the man around. The man in question wore military garb and on the shirt he wore as a jacket.

He noticed that the man at one time had been a Sergeant in the 82nd airborne division. According to the patches he wore. Something inside Steve told him what was happening was wrong as he crossed the street to help out what looked like a Vietnam veteran.

Steve looked at the three. “Why don’t you three pick on someone your own size.” The three just looked at Steve. As the one who was the leader. Stepped forward and stared at Steve who kept his eyes on all three. “Tell you what why don’t you just walk away before we give you one hell of a beating.”

Steve thought about it. Before answering his opponent who looked to be around 6;4 and around 235 pounds. “As opposed to letting you beat on an old man well past his prime. So bring it on then.” The first two attacked Steve at once who took care off the first two using a series of strikes and kicks till they were unconscious.

The leader of the group attacked and Steve followed what he had been taught and slipped around the bigger man using a rear naked choke. Steve knew with his strength he could easily kill the man but decided against it. Instead he whispered in his ear. “If your country asks you to fight you do so willingly. Also there is no greater purpose than to die for it. That man has seen horrors only you and I can only dream about.” Steve released the choke. “Get out of here while I’m in a forgiving mood. Now get out of here.”

Steve looked at the old man. “Got a proposition for you sir.. Help me out at the feed and grain store and I’ll buy you some breakfast afterwards.”

The old Veteran thought about it and wondered if this was for real or some sort of cruel joke on the young mans part. “Sure I got nothing else to do.

The owner of the feed and Grain store watched the fight holding an axe handle. “You okay kid.”

Steve looked at him. “Never been better. I’d like to pick up my order though. “

Once inside the owner looked at him from his counter. “Name of the order was sold too ?”

Steve laughed. “Well it should be under Steve Rogers. There should be four 20 pound bags of oats for a horse. A wedge and a new axe handle as well as a fine file for sharpening woods tools.”

Right over here and that will be 84.80. Steve paid in cash and carrying sixty pounds on his shoulders with ease. As he dumped the stuff in the back of the truck and watched the older man come out with the rest.” Steve was true to his word and bought the man breakfast which consisted of fried eggs home fries and four pieces of bacon. Steve got a coffee to go and headed back home where he unloaded things and stacked everything neatly in the barn as he went about his day looking for things to do.

School and Places to stay

Slipping from bed, Lana grabbed a robe as she made her way out of the hotel room and to the roof of the mostly bug infested building. Once there the robe slipped from her shoulders and billowed to her feet. As the light crested the other building and touched her skin, she lifted up, floating on the light of heaven. Her eyes closed as she basked in the warmth, her skin glowing with an inner light.

Tiana woke, alone in the hotel room. She smiled faintly. It wasn’t abnormal for Lana to go out before she woke, So Tia sat up and climbed from the bed. She looked around and began to tidy up the room. She remade the bed, cleaned the toys, and folded clothing while she waited for Lana to return.

AS the sun rose fully into the sky, Lana minor cuts and bruises healed, and she felt fully refreshed. Her entire being was suffused with an inner light of strength and courage. But all to soon the glow faded and she returned to the cold tar of the roof. Slipping her robe back on she made her way back to her room, the one she was now sharing with Tiana. Opening the door she paused for a brief moment, taking in the neatly organized room. The folded and properly placed clothing. "You've been busy, I see." She commented as she headed for the shower, draping the robe over the open door

"Yes" Replied Tia softly. She moved to the bathroom door and stood in silence. "Is-- there anything I can do?"

"Well, you can talk to me. Tell me your plans for the day, scrub my back. But no sex mind you, can't be late. Not today, and if we do the other, we will be late. Or not going at all."

"I.." Tia stepped into the shower. "I was going to open up my old family home. its the old Victorian on Heath Ave. Its been closed up for years. Then I was going to go by the school and enrol." She reached for the soap to wash Lana's back.

Resting her head against the shower stall wall, Lana closed her eyes, thoroughly enjoying the back washing. "Sounds like a right proper plan, it does." She whispered. She hadn't gotten her back washed by anyone, not since England. "I enrolled over the phone. Haven't been there for the official meet and greet, or to pick up my schedule yet."

"Ah well" Tia slowly took her time washing Lana's back. "I am sure it won't have changed since last year Lana." She said softly.

"We can only hope, unless there was another meteor shower and it took out the school. Anything is possible in this town. Anything. I learned that a long time ago."

With a soft laugh, Tia knelt and began to wash down Lana's legs and hips. "I am sure it will be fine Mistress." she whispered.

"I'm sure it will be, except when I see Clark. That may not be a good event." Lana said, sighing softly.

"Well.. if you like I can ... open the house after school.. and come with you." Tia whispered running the sponge over Lana's ass.

"No, you go to the house, besides I have a feeling it's either gonna be a detonation of sorts, or a rather intimate meeting. Not sure. Depends on him, and me, and I don't know about me yet. Either way, having more people present when we do, encounter each other, would not be pleasant. You understand, yes?"

"yes Mistress I understand" She whispered as she finished and stood.

Cupping Tiana's chin with her hand Lana looked her lover in the eyes, "Do you?" she asked softly. "I don't want you hurt. And no matter which way it goes, you might get hurt if you're there."

Tia smiled faintly. "I understand Mistress. I will be fine. If.. you wish to come to the house... it would nice."

"Perhaps after school. I'll try and eat lunch with you, but no promises. I still need to tell some others I'm back, but not today i think. Maybe I'll tell them tomorrow. Unless they hear the rumours and come looking for me."

"Will.. you stay here? In the hotel?" Tia asked softly stepping from the shower to get towels.

"I don't know. I can't forever, I’m not a Luthor or a Queen. So I’ll need a job after school if I plan to go that route, or any route that is. Aunt Nell is in Metropolis now, but I think she still owns the flower shop." Lana said, stepping from the shower and collecting a towel, drying off she watched Tia, "Maybe you should be a cheerleader this year."

Tia laughed. "Me? A cheerleader? I am not that graceful Mistress. And you can stay with me.. if you like."

"As roommate? Or something else?" Lana asked, moving to dry off Tiana. "And grace comes with practice..."

"As whatever you want." Tia whispered as she allowed Lana to wrap the towel around her form. "Its a fairly large house. And I own it outright so... and the taxes and bills are paid for by my trust fund so.. you can stay with me as long as you like."

Kissing the back of Tiana's neck, Lana stepped back. Her answer given. Moving into the main room, where the bed and everything else was, she began selecting clothes. "I do hope you're getting dressed today for school." she said with a giggle.

"Maybe." Tia smiled and headed to her duffle bag. "I have to Enrol so.. I won’t start until tomorrow I guess,”

"Well, if you enrol early enough today, then you can be in class before noon. But if anything happens you can text, or call, me." Lana said sitting on the bed and pulling on a pair of rather snug jeans.

Tia found a red ruffled skirt and white blouse. "If I go wearing these do you think that it will be ok?" she held them up. "I have red heals as well."

"Hmm, yes. I think that will be suitable, but mostly it's what you feel comfortable in. I never wear anything I’m not happy in. Unless I’m going for the angry look."

Tia smiled. "I like wearing them. And they are among the clothes I brought before I came here." She started to get dressed, adding a white silky bra and panties.

"Not these.." Lana said taking the panties and stuffing them in her pocket. "MAybe you can get them back at lunch, if you eat with me."

Tia smiled. "Yes Mistress" She bowed her head at Lana. "Anything else?" she added impishly.

"Not for now, open your house, then get enrolled, and eat lunch with me." Even though she'd much rather do something else at lunchtime. "But we have our things to do, and we must get about doing them," Lana said softly, pulling Tiana into a kiss, whether she wanted it or not.

Tia eagerly accepted the kiss and slid her arms around Lana's shoulders. She flicked her tongue across Lana's sweet lips.

Squeezing Tia's ass, Lana giggled as she broke the kiss. "Lunch," she said, smacking Tia's butt and grabbing her purse.

"Yes Mistress. I will meet you there" Tia whispered

Closing the door behind her, Lana headed for school. Wishing she didn't have to see these people again, but she'd chosen Smallville, so now it was her curse.

Tia watched her go and then set about getting ready for her day.

Doctor Jason Walker was one of the scientists responsible for bringing Steve Rogers to life in the first place. Was also an Army Ranger who took part in many black Ops back in the late 70’s and early 80’s. These days he was just an observer and he liked what he saw coming from Steve Rodgers.

That afternoon he sent this email to Cadmus labs in Metropolis.

Subject Operation Cadmus
So far Steve has performed well in his studies’ and is currently carrying a High B+ to almost A- terroertory. Steve has not performed violently at all. Just the opposite.

Is already falling back on his training in martial arts and the lessons he received growing up and is showing very good social skills as well.

******************

Steve had cut wood and stacked it in the barn for most of the day. Right now he was on the front stoop sharpening the Wedge that morning the factory edge had been good but after a few hours work. It had gotten dull so he spent 45 minutes sharpening it on each side to put an edge on it.

He put it back on the bench in the barn and well since he had not heard from the Kent’s he pretty much thought that he wouldn’t. Iota was a shame because his cooking skills needed serious improvement. But he saddled up old Tom and went for a ride along the eight acres or so that were here.

It was a long Morning

The rest of the morning had been spent with the Kent women trying to jog Clark’s memory. They told him about the first time he met his best friend Pete Ross, who was being picked on by a group of older boys and Clark charged in for the rescue. How they first met Lana Lang, and how she punched Clark for and it seemed as if from that day on their destinies were linked. How they had met Chloe Sullivan and how Clark and Karen took her on a tour of the town, and how they, Pete, and Lana became inseparable after that. Unfortunately it was proving to be as stubborn as Clark himself was at times.

Clark decided that he needed to walk around the farm, get some much needed air. He had been warned about his abilities, how it was a secret that only a few people (family, and Pete) knew about that he should restrain himself from doing anything that could draw attention to himself until his memory returned or he had time for Karen too help him learn control again.

Steve's day at School starting........

Steve went too school later on that morning. He pretty much always had his mornings planned out so he could do some work around the farm if there was any and get cleaned up and head on in.

Steve went to his locker and grabbed his stuff and headed off to his first class of the day.

TBC…………..

It had been a long several hours and Lex was more than exhausted by the time he had arrived at the mansion. ANd for the first time in days he wasn't arguing with Dr. Vaughn's orders about his needing rest. He went to directly to his room, with the metal briefcase which contained his prise in hand.

Even as he fell asleep in his own bed for the first time in weeks, all he could think about were the secrets that the statue held. It claimed it was just the first stone, if he read it correctly. Of course he had yet to figure out how the statue and stone were one in the same. It could be that the ancient Egyptians had carved it out of the stone. Or it could simply be that using their pottery skills they placed the stone inside of the artifact. Either way Lex needed to figure out how to access it, and how to find the other pieces so he could first heal himself. Then he would deal with his father's betrayal.

tbc...

Steve had three of his four classes had tests scheduled the first was an advanced Algebra test which he really couldn’t find a reason for it in the real world other than scientific applications and he really had no plans on being a scientist one day. He just couldn’t see it. But he was good at it.

Steve laid down his pencil and handed the paper in and returned to his desk and waited for the bell to ring to dismiss the class. It rang for minutes later. The other pair of classes went just as well one was a history class and the other was English. While his last class of the day was a study hall which he just decided to go home instead and do what ever home work he had that evening instead of doing it at school.

It took Steve about twenty minutes to get home after running a couple of errands on the old Harley - Davidson he had bought and went home and still no word from the Kent farm where he had stopped by the evening before unable to get the blonde girl he spoke too out of his mind when he had nothing actually do.

Walking around Steve found himself walking towards the Kent Farm just on impulse. By his standards it really was not a long walk for him because he could do a five mile hike in about 50 to 60 minutes. When he got there he saw people working and knew he had pushed the envelope just a little bit too far. When he noticed the people working.
