So Taxes passed, now what is next??

Trump having a Christian pray-in in the Cabinet Meeting is not remotely the same thing as Obama visiting a mosque and making an outreach to the Muslim community.

In all the important ways it is.

As I said, the true equivalent comparison is Obama having a Muslim pray-in, which he never did.

Even if he did SO WHAT?

What's wrong with POTUS having a prayer meeting?

It's a non-issue....but it's doing it's job, look how fucking irate you are about it.

About NOTHING, talk about triggered.

One thing Tromp is: he's a showman. These events are showpieces to wow his followers. Their reactions matter; ours don't.

Such shows are not staged for normal human viewing. His followers want to see their alpha male worshiped by his submissive minions, and that's what they get. What we see as farce, they see as sacred. These are religious rites, the flowering of a personality cult. Hail the Great Leader, sent from above to fix our woes and smash our foes! Hail Caesar!

Politics and religion are two aspects of the same human drives, here personified by the God-Emperor and his circle of apostles and acolytes.

Don't mention crucifixion.

As long as the numbers of his followers keep steadily decreasing . . .

For someone who claims to be above it all, you seem to care a lot about the President. I thought he wasn't accomplishing anything.

There's a difference between accomplishing obstruction of justice and tearing down of government and of serving the needs of the electorate. He's doing swimmingly on the obstructing justice and tearing down government fronts. The other? Not so much.

It's not remotely the same, not in any way, shape or form.

Trump has had many outreaches to the Fundie community, on their turf. Nothing wrong with that.

It's not the same thing as having a CHRISTIAN pray-in before a Cabinet Meeting that "blesses" the President and describes the Tax Plan passing as the work of God!

Government is government. It is NOT a church. It has NOTHING to do with GAWD.

In all the important ways it is.

You're an idiot if you don't understand.

Even if he did SO WHAT?

What's wrong with POTUS having a prayer meeting?

Yes I am very irate, but that was not it's intention. It's intention was to stroke Trump's ego by comparing him to GAWD and flame up his fundie base and tell those idiots this Tax Plan is God's will for you--the same people who sit like sheep in church every Sunday. It's pure manipulation and propaganda. That it makes me angry is a mere side effect.

I am irate. I was irate when I had to say the Pledge of Allegiance, or when they had "prayers" during commencement. Absolutely not. I despise religion and it had no place whatsoever in that meeting.

It's not "nothing." It's the Evangelicals infiltrating government in a big way. It is unacceptable.

I'm sure it would be just FINE with America if it had been a Muslim prayer. Oh wait, if Obama had done that he would have been impeached. It's only "ok" because it was Christianity.

It's a non-issue....but it's doing it's job, look how fucking irate you are about it.

AT&T Credits Trump for Bonus Its Union Already Negotiated

AT&T promised $1,000 in bonuses because of the GOP tax plan on Wednesday. But the union representing AT&T workers bargained for that bonus earlier this month.

On Wednesday, AT&T’s CEO announced $1,000 bonuses for all AT&T employees. AT&T said the bonuses were the result of corporate tax cuts passed in Congress this week.

But the big payout was to President Donald Trump’s ego. AT&T was already in talks with its union to give holiday bonuses, that union told The Daily Beast. The telecom’s GOP-friendly press release makes it the latest company to praise Trump’s legislative agenda when they need a big favor from the White House.

AT&T’s announcement comes one week after the company reached a new contract agreement with its workers. The contract came after a year of pressure from the workers’ union, Communication Workers of America. But in the past month, CWA also pushed AT&T to add bonuses based on the GOP’s promises of middle class prosperity under the tax bill.
Where's the truthiness? How does this compare with Tromp's early triumph, saving Carrier Corp jobs... that later migrated to Mexico?

Where's the "truthiness in YOUR post and article source???

From your own article:

"But in the past month, CWA also pushed AT&T to add bonuses based on the GOP’s promises of middle class prosperity under the tax bill".

I'm speechless.

So it is already based on the tax plan, and when it passed, ATT&T decided to approve it the bonuses.

You people are morons. I think the left has gone crazy.

You're making me move from centrist to ring winger. Left's become gross.

Here is another definition of moron: A moron is someone who takes a token amount of bonus giveaway by a major corporation in the short run as proof that 1.5 trillion dollar giveaway is a great idea for the nation as a whole in the long run.

It's not remotely the same, not in any way, shape or form.

Exactly the same.

LOL yea it was...I 100% guarantee he knew it would trigger the shit out of the left wing fundies like you. I'd bet EVERYTHING I OWN he had at least one good chuckle about it.

And you're right about the rest of it too...it was a 100% win move by Trump.

I am irate. I was irate when I had to say the Pledge of Allegiance, or when they had "prayers" during commencement. Absolutely not. I despise religion and it had no place whatsoever in that meeting.

I know you hate the USA and religious freedom....tough shit.

Maybe you should move to a place more to your liking, like China, or north Korea perhaps??

It's not "nothing." It's the Evangelicals infiltrating government in a big way. It is unacceptable.

They "infiltrated" a LONG time ago....why is it unacceptable?

The GOP just voted their way out of Washington by selling out the Country for the all mighty dollar.

I don't know about what Carnal Flower has to say about this, but I know I don't want the government shoving religion down my throat.

If you love theocracy, maybe you should get ready to move somewhere with Sharia law, because the majority of Americans are not going to put up with a christian evangelical version of Sharia law in this country, nor will we tolerate any religion dominating discourse in our governmental institutions.

You can go line up with Pence and Carson to herald the second cumming of christ.

How is POTUS having a prayer meeting the government shoving religion down your throat?

I don't love theocracy, I just don't think POTUS having a prayer meeting is theocratic in nature, at all, in any way shape or form.

Doesn't even come close to fitting the dictionary definition of the word.

theocracy

noun, plural theocracies.
1.
a form of government in which God or a deity is recognized as the supreme civil ruler, the God's or deity's laws being interpreted by the ecclesiastical authorities.
2.
a system of government by priests claiming a divine commission.
3.
a commonwealth or state under such a form or system of government.

If you want to live in a place that forbids any and all practicing of religion you should join Carnal Flower and expatriate to a place that bans it.

They just took a big step forward with that.

There's been reporting for a while that the Fundies in the WH have a prayer group. I'm sure they say things just as fucking creepy as we just heard. They passed a Bill, so I guess now they feel emboldened to come out of the closet. And I bet it will now become more and more common.

That IS shoving THEIR religion down our throats. Right in front of us.

Botany Boy, if you don't see a link between what was stated at that prayer meeting and the use of power to advance the superstitions and political agenda of a particular religion, you will probably be too dense or too stubborn to ever understand the need for separation between church and state.

People are free to practice whatever form of religious superstition they want to practice, but our government should not be adopting any particular branch of these superstitions in conducting the people's business.

This has nothing to do with forbidding "any and all practicing of religion", as you so sanctimoniously contend. Go out worship anything you want on your own time, but not when conducting business in the people's government. Keep your fucking religions out of official government meetings.

How?

Botany Boy, if you don't see a link between what was stated at that prayer meeting and the use of power to advance the superstitions and political agenda of a particular religion, you will probably be too dense or too stubborn to ever understand the need for separation between church and state.

So you can't point out how people in government having a prayer meeting is them shoving their religion down your throat or a theocracy. Noted.

I understand and fully agree with the separation of church and state, based off your comments though I have a hard time believing you know what that even means.

Because it doesn't mean POTUS isn't allowed to have prayer meetings.

People are free to practice whatever form of religious superstition they want to practice,

You seem to have a problem with people in government doing that, or is it just Trump?

but our government should not be adopting any particular branch of these superstitions in conducting the people's business.

It's not.

Well then I'm glad to see that you have no problem with POTUS having a prayer meeting.

Go out worship anything you want on your own time, but not when conducting business in the people's government. Keep your fucking religions out of official government meetings.

Public officials don't have their own time, they are public officials.

Why can't they prey? They aren't forcing anyone into anything.

I wonder if they were Muslims who whipped out their prayer rugs for their rituals if you'd be so hateful towards them, or would you call it diversity and bless the strength it gives our society!

The shit they were saying about him made me want to puke!

I cannot believe that those dopes in congress lined up to polish his knob like that. None of them have any pride.

^^ spent 8 years licking Dear Leader Obama's colon clean.

Who cares about your personal opinion of that meeting. Think what you want. I'm positive you didn't actually watch it or listen to what was said: you get all your "news" from us. WE are your insight into what's going on with politics, and you react accordingly. Which means we control you. But I digress.

You still have not addressed the hypothetical of Islam, or some other religion.

Would you like to go on the record saying if that whole scene (including WHAT was said) was done in the name of Allah, and it was Muslim prayer, there wouldn't have been an outcry in the US?

How?

Not many more than people who care about yours.

Then you're positively wrong.

LOL!!! Christ in a bucket you've got some SERIOUS delusions of grandeur.

You still have not addressed the hypothetical of Islam, or some other religion.

Oh yea the Christian fundies would be wound up and you would be defending it calling it "diversity" like good partisan hacks.

Most of us however wouldn't give 2 pumps of rat shit.

Religious folks get into government and pray, conduct ceremony, worship all sorts of crazy bullshit.

As long as they don't make any law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, then what the fuck ever, it doesn't matter.

It's interesting you mistakenly used the predator-meaning homonym of that word.

I don't want any religious nuts preying on me, fundamentalist christian, fundamentalist muslim, or any other form of religious superstition.

Now go back to whining about Obama and sucking up to your new leader, like Pence and Carson did at their Prey Meeting.

Not really, it was a simple mistake.

I don't want that either.

How is praying anything of the sort?

Now go back to whining about Obama and sucking up to your new leader, like Pence and Carson did at their Prey Meeting.

Control freak much?

He's as much your new leader as mine.

LOL Not making up hysterical bullshit isn't sucking up to Trump, who I don't support beyond how absolutely un-glued he makes the lefties.

No, try again.

But then, you cannot understand any difference between giving a speech or doing outreach and conducting a prayer with gov't officials in the WH doing official business. To you it's "exactly the same."

Translation: I'm an idiot. Since I can't understand, I will resort to "partisan hacks."

So of course, it would be beyond your mental capabilities to understand the symbolic side of religion getting into government. There are plenty more ways to break down the separation of Church and State besides the two you mention.

Tell me then, with regard to government function, what is the difference?

How does having a prayer meeting break down separation of church and state in ways that speeches and outreach do not.

They are not getting into government.
