So, Tuesday I'm having brain surgery...

She sounds better today. However, nancy nurse here sent her back to bed.

I see my oncologist at the Nevada Cancer Institute. If you've never been there, and I'm guessing you haven't, it's a beautiful place and the people there are exceptional. They have a 2 story water wall in the lobby that I love and a really nice little library.

I was there to see him 2 weeks ago and had a few minutes to waste so Jane and I went into the gift shop. Yanno... we gotta shop no matter where we are.

They had a display of ribbon pins and to my delight they had one for my kinda cancer ... and about a 100 other kinds. I've always felt a little left out because I'd never seen one for me. So, of course, I had to buy it. LOL Naturally, my ribbon is grey (for the little grey cells, as Poirot would say. Unfortunately, I have no Belgian accent to go with that.)

This is the website for them:

Lots of cool stuff there.

I love you, too and miss you. I wish you would post more.

I have my next MRI on Tuesday. ;-D The reason this is a big day is because I get my sewing machine back from the repair shop!!! LOL

It sounds as if you had a great time on the other side of the pond. You will have to give us a report.:)

Good luck on Tuesday. Maybe it will be really good news.:rose:

:rose::rose::rose::rose::rose: Welcome back, if you are back ;)

I just wanted to send you my blessings.....again. It was wonderful to come back and your still here. I thought of you this past February when my sis in law was told she had three tumors. I guess that is why I had to come back, you have given me hope, and your courage and strength are amazing. I wish I could be as strong as the two of you.....lol coming from a Domme.

I hope all goes well and you are in my prayers.

So good to see you again!!! You don't post enough, pal!

Up to now, it's all been good news. I've had some "minor changes in condition" which is why he ordered all those labs and this MRI, although he also says that he wants me to continue to have them every 6 months anyway. I want to continue them every 6 months too. I don't want to wait a year to find out when it's growing again and I don't want to suffer another seizure to find out, either.

But it's all been good so far and I don't see that changing. ;-)

:rose::rose::Welcome back, if you are back ;)

Once I have things caught up here at home, I'll call you! I have so much mail (snail and email) and still catching up on the laundry. Love ya!

Are they brain tumors? You can PM me anytime, you know. If there's anything I can do to help, you know I will. This news breaks my heart. You and she are in my prayers, too. Bank on that!

Please keep me posted on how this is going.

Thank you so much for your kind words. Yes they are brain tumors. That is how she found out she has stage 4 lung cancer. No tumors in her lungs, just in her brain. She has had all the radiation she can have, and chemo as well. Now it seems they are going to try the gamma knife. ( They saved that one in the back pocket.) It was going well for a few months, but it is now spread to her lymph nodes, but she refuses to stop fighting. Her courage and yours is amazing. It makes one realize all the things we take for granted. Thanks for listening, it helps to let a bit of this out.

Again thanks for your kind words, I really wish you the best

Quite often brain tumors are secondary sites (as is the case with your sister-in-law.) I was lucky that mine is a primary site and I have only the one. Chemo and radiation... those are no walk in the park for anyone. I feel so much for her... for what she's been through already.

I'm betting she's younger than I. And fighting is so important. Fighting with faith and hope are the only things you have left once you let go of the whole grieving process.

There were days when I wished I could go back to who I was on April 26, 2006. But I've stopped wishing for that. I know I'm a better person today than I was on that day and all the days, all the years before that.

I think everyone has a higher calling and it's just a matter of finding what that is. Your sister-in-law might be finding hers... the courage and faith in the face of so much body disaster she is experiencing and suffering and inspiring all those around her in spite of it.

God bless her and you and all those whose lives are touched by this.

A friend of mine is continuing to heal after a similar experience. It's awesome to see how far she has come, and will continue to go. I wish you a similar speedy recovery, all the best :rose:

Early on, Dr. Michael told me that I'd be surprised how many people are walking around with brain tumors and aren't even aware. And more and more often, I'm meeting people who have one or know someone who has.

Reminds me of when I would learn a new word and then I would see or hear it everywhere, for days after. lol

Right now I am in a stand-off with this tumor; as long as it's not growing, we aren't in a real battle. I know that my real tests are still ahead of me. I hope on that day, I'll have inside, what it takes to fight and win.

I'm also reminded, daily, that there are so many others in more dire straits than I.

And thank you for your well wishes. They are always appreciated... more than people can ever know.

Hi ADR :rose: Glad to hear that all is still well with you :)

Just wanted to give you some good news. Sir will be back doing home dialysis next week, after nearly 7 months. I'm putting His cannulas in now, using buttonholes which are much easier than using a different place each time. I've only done it a few times, I still hold my breath until it's in properly

He's looking forward to:
1) Not having to get up at 6am.
2) Getting longer dialysis which means He should have more energy and feel better.
3) Being in our comfy bed instead of hard and uncomfortable hospital beds.

The fistula is buzzing along nicely *fingers crossed it continues to do so for a LONG LONG time* :)

Thank you! How are you feeling?

Thank you sweetie. I'm doing pretty well. Just had an MRI done myself. Don't have the results yet, but there is really nothing to worry about in my case. It is more as a "tracking" kind of test.

Remember, you are so much stronger than you give yourself credit for. I also know being that way isn't too easy. You are always in my prayers darling, always. :rose:

That is marvelous news! I am sure you will continue to do that just fine every time. :)

GREAT NEWS Bandit!!!
Sorry for the hijack, ADR!

Hope you are having fun with your sewing machine.

I really admire you. I bet you're a real expert on dialysis by now. I know almost nothing about it, aside from having my patients ready in the morning to go for their appointments. LOL

And I imagine, as you said, that Master Gil is really happy to be home for all this. Nothing better to be home for the less than pleasant stuff.

I've got my fingers crossed for you both and I'm soooo glad you shared this with us. I'm afraid to pry, so it's great that you keep us all posted on things. It's never a hijack to share information like this with all of us who care for you both! ;-D

Please give Him my best!
