Socialism brings people down - lowers quality of life

so, you are lazy and unwilling to do what is necessary to pay for your own insurance. why stop at insurance, why not demand a free car? why not demand free housing? after all, you are a lazy retard so demand more!

I'm not lazy, unwilling, or retarded... But if I could get a chance, I'd ask the Wizard for a brain (or a ball-gag) for you.

We correct you, & yet you still keep repeating the same old incorrect shit.

The fact is it's NOT fair, boy (or girl, or herm, whatever's correct), as asleep, my thoughts still defeat yours simply by existing.

You make the mistake of believing this person is capable of reasoned discussion. His pseudonym should tell you that he isn't. Don't waste your time. Just let him keep believing that keeping 90% of the country's wealth in the hands of less than 5% of the population is going to do some good. You won't convince him otherwise until he realises that he will never be one of the 5%

While the wealth issue may be true, does that valid the path so many have taken by giving up and collection welfare and other government entitlements? Why are you giving them another excuse to give up and do nothing? That type of thinking is why it will become 91% and this is what obama and hillary want.

lets face it, the democrats have made their followers lazy and stupid. these people are one or two issue voters. they care more about gay rights then they do about national security or debt. obama has really mentally fucked up millions of Americans

First, do you have any support for those figures, 90% and 5%? Second, most people, depending their abilities and ambition, have a chance of becoming part of the small group.

I really don't want to get involved in your party politics. From where I'm standing it looks like your primaries have left you having to choose which is the least worse candidate.

The point I would make is that a little more equality would fuel ambition because the people would see that they had a much better chance of achieving a better life. In the 50s, and 60s you used to have that. Back in those days, you spent more on schools than you did on prisons.

Britain is in a similar position. Since the 1980s our politicians and media have pedalled the belief that rich people only respond to the carrot and poor people only respond to the stick. So they punish the poor for being poor and reward the rich for being rich. Those of us in the middle get neither.

On both sides of the pond we have seen our levels of innovation falling and our economies declining. Other countries, where the income gap is much smaller have moved ahead and now cause us problems because they are taking over areas that were once ours. I don't think anyone would consider Japan to be short of innovators or the ability to exploit the market, yet they have the lowest disparity of income in the developed world. Inequality breeds despair and makes those at the bottom give up.

Hurling abuse at one another and sticking to entrenched positions gets nobody anywhere. We need to talk rationally and try to understand other points of view. What you have to remember is that the people at the top are the people who own the media. The media has a vested interest in maintaining the status quo.

First, no I extrapolated from Britain where it is supposed to be 80% and 10% Since we are supposed to be a little more equal than you I tweaked the figures.

Second. Don't you think that if the upper group was much larger it would provide more incentive not less.
If a goal is attainable people work harder to achieve it. If it is seen as being almost impossible, most don't try. Most people want to better themselves but they need to believe that it's possible. When the gulf is so big it destroys most of that incentive.

Sir, you are 100% our choice is which is the lessor of the two evil's ... hillary the welfare party or Trump the welfare party.

hillary will murder the middle class though as the welfare class will grow as will the 1%

with Trump, the middle class will feel like they have a fighting chance.

sadly, bill clinton mastered the spin and put such a venom on politics that we can no longer have civil conversations. its much like your soccer matches when the thugs take over and there are riots. however, this is what hillary and obama want

:(

Back in those days though we didn't "regulate" everyone out of opportunity in the name of equality. We also used to celebrate achievement, now it's a trigger for failure so we degrade achievement and give everyone a trophy/gold star/diploma etc.

Back in those days, you spent more on schools than you did on prisons.

Spending on one program vs the other means fuck all under our current system.

The system is corrupt, the parasites suck up all the money and the classrooms never see it. Even if they did what would that help? EVERYONE is a winner no matter how fucking bad they are because that's equality!

That's not the problem the US has. The problem here is the government has regulated opportunity away. You're not allowed to go out and achieve in the USA anymore. The feds will come shut you down for no other reason than you were making money and improving your economic status without their approval.

Inequality breeds despair and makes those at the bottom give up.

Well maybe if the inequality wasn't government imposed those on the bottom would have a reason to get up in the morning and go do something productive.

Hurling abuse at one another and sticking to entrenched positions gets nobody anywhere.

Emotions are more important than facts and ideology is more important than reality.

If the first sentence is true, we are now all alike, so why have two parties?

The last sentence is certainly not true, as that is the one thing you have proven able to do without any help (not including yourself).

because the left aka your kind want and need big government. you need someone to tell you what to do. you need big government to take care of you.

then there are those like me, that say fuck you stupid retards in government as you only get in the way. we need the free market and competition.

example, why does it take ten government retards to change a light bulb?

It doesn't. Nor are you right about what kind is mine or what I want or need.

You say F you to the government b/c they say the same to you when you beg for help (aloud or figuratively)

You do realise that you want the opposite of Trump. He wants an end to the free market and competition, or at least he says he does. Putting up trade barriers and import tariffs, to bring the jobs back home, is anti-competition and kills a free market. So if you vote republican you would be voting against what you say you believe in.

No the spending is an indication of the way things are. The spending on prisons is because the prison population has soared. All hardline sentences and policies like "three strike you're out" has achieved is an increase in the prison population and an increase in crime.

One of the reasons that people commit crimes is because they have more to gain than they have to lose. In the words of the song "When you ain't got nuthin you got nuthin to lose"

The system is corrupt, the parasites suck up all the money and the classrooms never see it. Even if they did what would that help? EVERYONE is a winner no matter how fucking bad they are because that's equality!

The first part may be true but the second part isn't.

Equality isn't about Everyone being a winner, it's about everyone having the same opportunity to become a winner. I take it that you don't believe that people are automatically less intelligent if their parents are poor. However, a bright intelligent kid with poor parents has to be super bright to get a good education whereas the rich kid can just be mediocre and still get it. Both our governments are saying that having debt, as a country is a bad thing. On the other hand, they tell kids that they should take out huge loans in order to get an education. If your parents have enough money to set up a trust fund for you, it's not something to worry about. If you've grown up never knowing where the next dollar is coming from the idea of taking on $100,000 of debt is a hell of a disincentive to get that education and better yourself.

The feds will come shut you down for no other reason than you were making money and improving your economic status without their approval.

I don't know enough about the US to comment on that. It sounds like the sort of thing that people complain about with the EU, where we even have regulations about how long a banana must be. In general, the regulations seem to put too large a burden on small and emerging companies. The large ones have sufficient manpower to do all the monitoring and compliance. We do have 'get outs' in some of our regulation which allows small companies a level of exemption on certain regs.

Well maybe if the inequality wasn't government imposed those on the bottom would have a reason to get up in the morning and go do something productive.

Trump is the lessor of two evils and the best hope that the middle class has. Hopefully Trump will end the American's obsession and dependence on welfare. obama fucked up America by removing the stigma of welfare and making it socially acceptable. fuck that, when someone goes on on welfare, well they went on welfare cuz they are a fucking idiot. obama is weak and Putin bitched slapped the cunt obama on Syria and saved obama's tender ass.

hillary is corrupt, like Enron

Collecting welfare became a valid career choice before Obama, especially in CA. I don't know just when it started to be so.

Equality isn't about Everyone being a winner,

In the US education system it is.

Achievement is BAD because feelings must be protected at all costs!! Everyone can be a doctor or astronaut!!

We absolutely refuse to tell Johnny/Suzy Derp that they need to learn how to weld, frame a wall or drive a loader so that they can feed themselves and move the fuck out of moms house one day. It would shatter their dreams of being a rock star so we lie to them instead of preparing them for the real world.

M'uricuh!

We don't exempt shit, we LOVE using arbitrary BULLSHIT regulations that have NOTHING to do with public/environmental safety to crush small bidnizz. In fact the bigger/richer you are the more exemptions/subsidies/breaks you get.

Step on Jamba Juices turf with a lemonade stand and you'll see the LA sheriffs department SWAT team a couple of 9 y/o girls like they were fuckin' Jihadi John himself.

Yeah back in those days when rivers would catch on fire, you couldn't breath the air in LA, and there was asbestos in your walls. Man, I miss those days.

And what about the other 90% of arbitrary regulations that ubercorps write up all the time with the express intent to kill/prevent competition at every possible turn and have NOTHING to do with public or environmental health/safety??

You can go on and on and on with shit both federal and state governments have been doing for some time now that doesn't have SHIT to do with public or environmental safety and EVERYTHING to do with some rich asshole paying the right pols/bureaucrats to put more of the market in their pocket through force of government.

And it's fucking our economy/workforce. That's why the upper crust (top 5%) are so over the top fucking rich. They use the government to crush competition and extort money from the public via taxation and ridiculous subsidies/contracts. It happens in everything, every market you can think of, from merchandising and agriculture to defense and HC.

It's about the money.

Show me one. For once prove your point and don't just spout bullshit.

War on drugz.

Arbitrarily restricted and or excessively priced licencing/permits.

Such as liquor licences or permits to run a cab service etc.

That's market protection/control....point blank and it goes on all over the country.

I can go on. Would you like to hear about how ACA was all about a HC/insurance industry special interest group getting paid?

Or do you really think ACA was all about getting the US citizens the best HC possible for at reasonable price?:D

Maybe you can explain why Monsanto gets paid to waste water on empty fields while CA shuts down independent farmers for water reasons during a terrible drought?

It's all money grabbing and control. None of that shit has a fucking thing to do with general welfare or public/environmental safety.

It's not socialism, it's a corporate oligarchy/feudalism, but from the bottom looking up they are effectively the same fucking thing. Government control over the markets.

So how many people do you have on Welfare? How much do they get? and can you actually live on it?

Our rightwing press will often print stories about people living a high life on benefits. It usually turns out to be untrue or exaggerated. A couple of years ago we had a story running about a guy with 17 kids. The newspaper described The life they had and implied that it was all paid for by the state. It transpired that the father owned his own business (a bakery). The only benefit they claimed was something called child allowance which every family gets regardless of how much money they have.
