SouthEastern US Lit Gathering?

*blushes*

Oh and thanks for the complements Geoff, Sprinkles and Raven!

I'm going to scoop those up and keep them close to my heart. On bad days I'll take them out and revisit them!

Sounds and looks like you all had a great time.

I'm sad that I missed it, but I was visiting home (tx) for the holidays, and wouldn't have been able to attend the club anyway.

Maybe next time!

:D

Check on the Southeastern Leather Fest in June.

I do wish we had been able to arrange a lunch or something quiet and relaxed to simply chat at.

Hey Geoff, you like Anne McCaffrey (and Harry Potter)? A couple of my favorite authors along with Tolkein
*grins*

I like her SF (Crystal Singer, Ship Who... series, etc) I'm not all wild about Pern though. I never have been a huge fantasy fan, though I admit to enjoying the occassional sword and sandals stuff, Moorcock's Elric series, Fritz Leiber, that generation....

In person, Ms. McCaffrey is a HOOT! She's great with her fans, a lively, sparkling personality, sharp as a tack but for God's sake do not get in front of her scooter or she will run your pedestrian behind over! *LOL*

I liked Pern. I wanted to role play Pern but after a while the series felt too much the same.

I liked a lot of her series actually.

But the Crystal Singer series was my favorite and I've sort of patterned my 21st level bard after that character. I made up my own non weapon profiences based on it anyway. LOL.

I've read Moorcock because some of my best buds LOVE his stuff but it didn't push my buttons that much.

I read a LOT of Sci fi in my day. After a while I went on to other genres. The whole genre didn't seem to have much different in it that I hadn't read. Doesn't that sound horrible?

No it sounds fine. I also liked the Pern series but I can see what you mean by it getting the same. The first three (Dragonquest, Dragonflight and the White Dragon) were the best, but I also loved the crystal singer series. A very original concept. I have read a lot of fantasy and Tolkein is my favorite author (can hardly wait for the new Middle Earth book coming in March). For SciFi I stick to the classics, Heinlein and Asimov.

Lord, 21st level bard, I'd like to see that campaign. LOL,
