Never ever let anyone in your group study medicine. The guys won't make it before the end of the semester. And I will live on the first day of semester break. It'll be April until we next game :(

And, guys, you're old :p I wasn't even born when you already played D&D...

Old???? I guess someone needs a spanking *pulls walnut paddle from bag and looks around*

Sorry :rose: I was so down that my character is not even tenth level yet...

LOL!

Actually it's the 1st-10th level characters I tend to enjoy the most. You know when you have nothing and really have to be creative? God I love that. When you get higher up in level, ability, rules and magic it becomes so complicated. I worry that I can't properly use all of my resources well at that point. I hate the sorts that pull out every stop every time or brag, which drives the DM NUTS too IMO. At that point I often lose my motivation and simply want to eat pizza, read, and socialize.

:D

I'm a pizza snob too, we are so NOT talking Little Sneezers here, double the cheap carboard crap, double the pissed off-ness!

I'm a nerd as well. Just not so experienced at it. I admire all the very experienced nerdness around these parts though. :D :rose:

I'm not a doctor but I played one in a 1920's-1930's era Call of Cthulu game! *grins* My first CoC character was a "fresh-out-of-residency" doctor, who was from a family with serious money. His skill level in "Play Golf" was higher than his "Surgery" or "Treat Disease" skills, and almost as good as his "Diagnose Disease" was. *lol*

Gawd I miss that game. After playing that character continuously for almost 4 years he was a holy terror when it came to patching up the other characters when they got shot, cut, bitten, poisoned, hacked, or otherwise damaged. If they weren't killed outright, there was a very good chance they would live to fight another day. If they weren't driven permanently insane! :D

I found out some years later that our GM used him as a long-term, re-occurring NPC in a World War II era spy-game. To me, THAT is like the ultimate gaming compliment, when your favorite GM of all time is using one of your characters as an NPC even years after the ame ended... Wow!

I'd have to agree with that being a compliment! I've had characters of mine turned into NPC by my DM's too.

What is also a compliment is when they say, nope, we won't make your character an NPC. Even though she would fit in well and help advance the storylines we won't do it. Because without YOU playing her, something essentual to the character would be missing. We want YOU!

Awww!

So is mine. Lots of Tolkien and others. The last time I was running I had them in Beleriand.

The Gaea Trilogy by John Varley, starts with Titan and influenced me a great deal when I created my world.
