And while we are known for our large hooped dresses, sitting on the veranda drinking mint juleps and having the vapors, I am glad not everyone thinks of us like that
And to all the Gentleman who love us - thanks y'all

Adding my "hey ya'll" to the Southern Belle list. Born and raised in Sweet Home Alabama![]()

Living in this state, it's fairly easy to get the vapors.

then you'll be needing to join us by the pool - with or without the mint julep.....![]()
What have you got against mojitos? Ever since I (legally) went to Cuba, I love them.

While I agree bourbon is typical of the south, I know better than to assume what the lady wants. As you so aptly stated, southern women will tell me what they want. If they want a gin and tonic, then they shall have it. Should they prefer a bourbon, I'll gladly oblige. So long as she is satisfied, who am I to tell her what to drink?

Actually on occasions, I do prefer a good bourbon - straight no ice or if I am in a sipping mood - a glass of red wine -
And of course by the pool - anything tastes good - dang it was hot today!!!!
'Assume'? 'Who am I'?
I'm the guy that tries to listen. She told me what she wanted. Generally, they will tell you what they want if you're listening. Let's not fight over the nice lady.
Mint Julep
4 fresh mint sprigs
2 1/2 oz bourbon whiskey
1 tsp powdered sugar
2 tsp water
Muddle mint leaves, powdered sugar, and water in a collins glass. Fill the glass with shaved or crushed ice and add bourbon. Top with more ice and garnish with a mint sprig. Serve with a straw.
Simply ask; I'll get it for you. Is it common for men to compete for your attentions?![]()

Isn't a mint julep supposed to be served in a chilled silver goblet ?
No need for a goblet for me. I am a simple girl. I'll take mine in a plastic cup - out by the pool - and I'm not a Kentucky Derby fan either - but I will watch a good football game with you every now and then - and yes I am a Dolphins fan - quit laughing...
Good morning to the SB crowd
Good morning sweet thang .. youve been missed
