exactly...who ever heard of a Red Velvet cake w/ cream cheese frosting- it certainly isn't an authentic Southern Red Velvet cake unless it's got the butter roux frosting

I make my Red Velvet Cake with a frosting made from a mixture of milk/flour...mixed with sugar, butter, and vanilla. Is that close to what you use?

Oh and cream cheese frosting is the way to do Red Velvet.
Absolutely!!! That's the authentic frosting...we just call it butter roux, b/c you create a roux w/ the milk/flour first![]()
