But, Loranne and Marty never actually made out. She put her hand on his thigh and she may have kissed him, but then Marty freaked out, moved away, and then Loranne's mother called up to them about dinner being done or something.

When I first read this idea I instantly remembered BttF. Time travel can fuck up the present and, therefore, the future. Remember when Marty's brother and sister began vanishing from the photo he had? Loranne had to fall in love with George McFly in order for the world as Marty knew it to remain the same.

Time travel provides a hypothetical realm at best. The most interesting paradox is can you go back in time and change something? Or does your going back merely help get you to the point where you left?

I think it was Heinlin who's intrepid time traveler destroyed all of evolution and the world where the traveler left from was now populated with reptilian humanoids. My favorite time travel story was about a fellow who went back in time to keep his folks from being killed by a drunken driver. In his effort to stop the drunken driver from killing his folks he actually drove the person off the road, but they recovered and got their car back on the wrong side of the road just intime to have a head on collision with his paren't car. It begged the question would the drunken driver actually have killed his folks if he hadn't tried to intervene? Did his preence as a time traveler actually cause the history he had gone back to try and change? Fascinating stuff.

For this one I think the question of paternity might make the best twist. Perhaps he and a younger version of his father are competing for his mom's attentions and they both succeed within a very short span of time. She ends up pregnant and gives her son a lot of questions when he comes back to his own time
