Spenser's Irish Pub

To all the sweet ladies on this board.

Thank you for your kind words, thoughts and prayers.
The wedding is on, and all have excepted the fact that my ex mother in law will only be here for a short time. She has excepted it and is ready to go. She is a Christian and believes she will be in Heaven. She wants to make the wedding and will try to do it as best as she can.
Right now, we are focusing on the wedding and making it the best one my daughter can have. Nothing else you can do but move forward.
Thanks again for all of the kind words and thoughts.

OK... now I am fresh out of ideas of a topic, so ladies the ball is in your court..... WHAT DO YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT?

Hey Mindy..
I am staying cool.
Yep I do have mixed emotions about my little girl getting married.

I think you are joking... which is why I know you will agree that hiring a woman or a woman that is really hot as a date to this wedding - with all of the emotions that are going to be there -
the ex's mom only having weeks to live because of cancer, my daughter's wedding and all the emotions she will be going thru - with me showing up with a hired hot woman... I think this would not be the smartest move I could make. This would NOT be a time to show up the ex.

But then again.. I know you were joking... right?

A new subject what do you think of all the plastic surgery craze that is going on right now on tv?

I kind of like the Extreme Makeovers, wish I could be on there. The Swan. Not as much so....they make such a drastic change that the women don't even look like themselves. I want to be me and look like me, just better! But my question is how do they afford to be gone for so long??? I would lose everything while I was out there! The Extreme Makeovers are gone for 6 wks and the Swan for 3 months!!!!!!!

I gotta say those ladies on The Swan look a little 'done'. The whole thing kind of freaks me out. Not enough to stop watching it though. :D These reality shows are very addictive.

I'm really liking Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

i LOVE THAT SHOW AS WELL

I wish I could go on the swan also tho....I think its really great that they give these women a diet and exercise program they can stick to and it does wonders for their self-esteem as well...I am partail to the Bachelor, and Big Brother, and High School Reunion tho ..Gotta love Reality Tv!!

The problem is Mindy, I would be the "talk" all right, but not the kind of talk that I want to be apart of. This is my daughter's wedding and this is HER DAY... not for me to try and show up the ex. I would be the talk alright, but I would be a dissappointment in my daughter's eyes... and that is more important to me then showing up with a "hire hottie". Sorry... but that is not me and I would never do it.

My thoughts on the Make over shows

There is on extreme makeover show that I loved. It was where they gave this woman who was going blind and deaf, both her eyesight and hearing back. When she is listening to the orchestra and tears are streaming down her face because she is hearing something she has not heard in a very long time... well... I got misty eyed.

I see nothing wrong in wanting to change things about you. However I do disagree with doing it to make yourself more worthy of vaule. That is the wrong reason to do it.
There was a woman that was on the swan that I swear if she smiled her face would have cracked and fallen off. She was REALLY UGLY AFTER the work.

Extreme seems to me more about improving and not about total remake.

But I do think the message is sad... we have gotten to where we have to have a perfect body, perfect face, perfect breasts, and perfect abs or tummy.

I perfer more real women and real bodies. Because if she is perfect, I will feel out of place. Give me a more NATURAL WOMAN.
(I have felt fake breasts and they were hard and not attactive at all)

Good Morning Angels

(hehehehe... feel like Charlie with all these beautiful women on this thread!)

How if everyone? Things are well here.
I finally saw "Van Hulsing" Or however you spell it.
It was very good. There was some hints of James Bond in a couple of places (there is a rumor that Hugh could be the next Bond after Pierce) This one scene where Van is meeting with the Father (M) of the Roman Church, who he works for, is being told of his next mission. Then he goes and talks to this friar who is like Q. And they show off all this new gagets for him to use. I got a big laugh out of that.
I know what you mean about the ending, but he will be back as he has already signed for a 2nd one.

This summer looks like some great movies coming out... so it is looking to be a good summer.

Well, yes.. some of it was corny... but I belive the cow was computer graphics and only real before it was grabbed and after it was on the porch.

But the thing about computer effects that was in this movie and like Lord of the Rings... it goes so fast... it is hard to follow at times. Maybe they move the speed up so fast because it would look too fake at slower speeds...
But who knows...

Ahhh You know? I think I messed up calling it a Pub. For one I am not much of a drinker and two, I don't know what they serve over in Ireland! LOL... I am Irish and I make a bad one for not knowing drinks. I guess I called it a Pub because from what I hear from most, a pub is not just a bar like it is here in the states. It is more of a hangout where people visit and hang out and sing songs and just visit. That is what I was hoping to capture with this thread.
I am trying to remember if we had talked or not, and if we have I am sorry I don't remember but I am so glad you are my friend visitor to my pub.
So let's just say it is a self service place and you get what you like. And drinks are on me! LOL

Hiya Spenser! Thought I'd drop in and say hello. I think you've caught the "essence" of what a pub is all about. I've visited Irish, English, and Welsh pubs on both sides of the Atlantic; and agree that they are indeed a place for friends to gather and enjoy one another's company. (OK, I admit that I also enjoy the beer) ;)
M'name's kym and its a pleasure to make your acquaintance! :rose:

~kym~ Tipping me pint to Spenser :D

Hey thanks for telling me. I have always wanted to go to the Pubs in England and Ireland. They always seemed like a cool place to hang out. I am glad we have caught the spirit.
Thanks for joining us....

I liked Sam, because of his devoted friendship. He gave his word and stuck to it even if it may cost him his life. Hard to find friendships like that now adays.
And Aarogorn, because he had honor and commitment to the mission. There really is not anyone I did not like.

I do not have any of the DVDs but I want them.
You know you are a sci-fi lover's wet dream ... right?
LOL... most women could care less about this stuff.
How old are you again??????
