Well Ladies now I need some help in an area I am not to sure how to respond.
My middle one is getting married..(both 22 yrs old) later this month. He is alright and nice guy, but they are both dreamers and not very well planted in the realities of life. She has had a better record of holding down a job and being the together one. Since she has meet this guy and fallen in love, her common sense has kind of gone out the window. He can not seem to keep a job. (what is it with most of the kids today? They do not feel a job is that big a deal or tend to not be very responsible.) Spenser, I have been there, done that. I met a guy who knew all the right things to say. I was very responsible and we married right away, after my parents threw a fit. I eloped. Went through alot. She is going to have to learn on her own, make her own mistakes and I know it will kill you to see it happen. My parents (mostly my mom)told me that they were just trying to save me from making the mistakes that they made and wanted to protect me. I told them you made your mistakes, I want to make my own. I asked an aunt to co sign for me to get a car, so I wouldn't lose my job and she said no. From that day on I never asked my family for anything. My mom provided and forced it on at times when I really needed.

But as far as if you were my dad. On that day, I would want to know that you love me and that you will always be there for me. But that you were setting me free and letting me go to find out who I was. And to know, and for you to let the guy know that if you hurt my daughter in any way you will answer to me and I will stomp your butt in the ground! And also like this couple I once knew told their future son-in-law "You can take her or leave her, but don't take her and then leave her!"

I have carpal tunnel and permanently damaged shoulder. She can still work. There are arm braces you can buy. It will take some getting used to, but she can do it, IF she wants to. Good luck dad.
