Sphere of the Planes: A D&Der's fantasy swap.

Joe

IC: I roll a d20 and receive a 19, a total of 22 for the bluff. "The man in the white armor took your gold, we tried to stop him but he was to strong for a bunch of girls and a wimp. We never would of done anything if he didn't threaten to hurt you if we didn't. I swear we only did it because we like you and the man in the white armor was so big and mean."

Melika thought to herself, 'It's possible I stole his gold. I steal a lot of people's gold and he looks like an easy mark. I wonder if he has any more on him. Probably not if he is so upset about what he's lost already.' Melika took a sip of her now quite cold tea and grimaced. She didn't want to get kicked out of town before she got a look at the inside of the castle, so she decided to see if the Torgo would attack first. She knew enough from her run-ins with the law that you could kill a man in a fair fight, but not one in which you threw the first punch, or dagger as the case may be.

Penny sat back in thought, "Melika will wait to see what the others do and see if Torgo attacks. Can I hold my action and trigger it if he attacks? Hopefully Allysia and Rydia can convince him he is better off not attacking us." She nodded to Sarinah and Joe in approval of their approach.

"What man in white armor?! I saw no man in white armor, just tiny elf-girl there!" Torgo pointed his mallet at Melika accusingly. "Torgo thinks you trying to trick him! No one likes Torgo! Least of all girls and wimps!" Clayton said as he rolled a few more dice. "Yes, you can ready an attack action, Penny. You also remember that the night before you conned good ol Torgo here into buying the two of you drinks, giving him the false impression that he might, ahem, score, only do get HIM so drunk that he passed out at the bar. Three guards had to drag him out to the stables, where he must have slept it off. All he seems to remember is 'wasting' all his gold on you."

Joe

IC: "I trust conversation is independent of initiative." I said to Clayton

Rydia quickly undoes the top button of her shirt. "Thats not true how can I prove to you that I like you. Would it be helping you find the man in the white armor or would it be something else?" She fallowed this up with a seductive smile.

I rolled a 14 for a total of 17 on this second bluff. I hopped the good acting would by a bonus.

"Yes, conversation is considered a free action, Joe." Clayton answered out of character, then went right back into the character of Torgo.

"Wuh... Hrmmm...' Torgo mutters as he lowers his spiked mallet an stares at Rydia's cleavage dumbly, not sure what he should think."

Allyria: Rolling her eyes Allyria leant back against the table and crossed her arms over her chest. Trying to hide the disgust at even acting like she wanted to bed that creature she reached behind her and snagged a chunk of bread and her steak. Folding them together she took a bite and settled back to watch the show. Her sword was resting beside her, with her right hand stroking the hilt absent-mindedly incase Rydia's ruse blew up in her face.

Wes: "'Well, i've had about enough of this...' I say to Allyria. 'Time for Torgo to take a nap.' I cast sleep on him C.B."

Clayton: "Okay, while the big guy is distracted by Rydia's pleading, you get the spell off, and he leans back, his eyes drifting closed, soon, he slumps against the bar and slips down into a crouch, deep asleep."

Wes: "'Much more of that, and I was about to lose my breakfast... Listen, Rydia, good intentions aside, how far were you really going to let things go? I mean, were you going to get up into his lap next?'"

Joe

IC: "I do get experience for that victory right?" I asked Clay.

I then switched back to in character. "Until he was close enough to kick in the nuts. Why do you ask?"

Melika turned to Rydia, "If you were close enough to kick his nuts, you would have been close enough to smell his breath, which could make a necromancer shriek like a little girl and run away." Melika continued, "I remember this guy now." She stood and circled the now sleeping Torgo. "It took me two doses of my best tranquilizers to put him out. I thought I was going to have to get him upstairs and hit him over the head. I got some good wine out of him though, as well as about 10 gold." She frowned in thought as she leaned down and swiftly took the large iron dagger from the peacefully slumbering form and slipped it into her belt. "He shouldn't have remembered me though. I must be losing my touch with alchemy. Or that crazy old wizard in the last village I was in sold me some bad herbs." Immediately, she began riffling though her herb pouch and mumbling curses, wondering what else she had bought that was of poor quality.

Penny laughed. "Leave it to you Joe to make your female character get undressed in the first 10 minutes of the game."

Joe

IC: "Yes well Penny my logic has always been her STDs not mine."

Penny swallowed the swig of Mountain Dew she'd just taken and said, "Fair enough" in a way that meant, 'You have a valid point, but that was way more information than I was looking for.' Turning to the other players Penny suggested, "We should probably leave the tavern before the big fella wakes up." Then turning back to Joe, "Unless you want to take him up to your bedchamber and ravage him."

Melika looked towards Rando, "How long until that spell wears off? I for one don't want to be around when he wakes up." She jerked a thumb towards the snoring mass behind her." Torgo stirred his sleep the way a dog stirs when he chases dream rabbits. "I suggest we make a clean get away. Our audience with the King should be soon." Standing next to the table, Melika downed her mouthful of cold tea and headed towards the stairs to collect her things.

Clayton:

Clayton glanced from Joe to Wes. "Yeah, Joe, you do, but its split between you and Wes, cause he assisted."

Wes:

"'Eh? Oh, th' spell aught hold fer bout three hours. Th' King, eh? *Sigh* If we must...' Rando has a real problem with authority figures."

*An hour of play later*

Clayton:

"Okay guys, your audience with the king is neigh. A royal guardsman escorts you into the grand audience chamber, where King Korg Arseyus awaits you. Seated in the throne next to him is a radiant young lady, much too young looking to be his queen. If any of you have any ranks in knowledge, royalty, you know her to be Princess Shiori Leigh Arseyus, the kings only offspring. She stares at the lot of you impassively as you approach her father's throne.

'Greatings young adventurers, I thank you for answering my call for help. As you no doubt have heard by now, there have been monsterous raids upon our fair city of Browning. It would seem that these raids are coming from a complex of caverns not far from here. I gladly open my armoury to those who wish to delve into these caverns, in the hopes that they might route the evil that dwells within?"

With thoughts of gold filling her mind Melika asked, "Would there be a reward for this service, your majesty?"

Rydia

IC: "Yes that would be best for me as well. My body is my weapon so I have little use for your armory."

Allyria: Executing a swift bow to the King and Princess, Allyria straightened. "Your Majesty and Your Highness, I am more than happy to go and resolve this issue for you. I am sure we all are. As my companion said however, is there a reward involved?" Looking down at her sword Allyria added,"Also, I shant be requiring a sword from you Your Majesty, however I will investigate your armory regardless as I may find something else to aid me on this journey."

Sarinah had been drawing consistently all this time and slid the picture of Melika across to Penny with a smile. This was fun! Casting a quick look at Clayton she tried not to laugh. He was adorable he was all excited and flushed now that they were playing and she could virtually see his mind ticking over with his plans. She was glad he hadnt had any more caffiene

Joe

IC: I watched clayton carefully wondering what he would do after I slept those trolls. But in any case they were defeated, and thats the only reason why we are now before the king and princess.

Clayton: "The Princess, Shiori speaks up, to answer your querries. 'There is coin enough for your pockets to be found in the caverns, a full third of Brownings treasury has been slowly stolen away by these monsters raids upon us.' She says to Melika, maintaining her passive demeanor until she turns her eyes upon Rydia, to which she arches an eyebrow, giving you an emperious stare. 'Young monk, do you not know whom my mother was? Before she came to this land, she was known as Empress Keiko, and was the greatest monk in the Burning Sands. Half of our armoury belonged to her... So now, are you so certain that you have no wish to explore it?'"

Rydia

IC: "This is why I should of taken knowledge local."

Rydia looked at the empress. "I had no idea. Although I wish to travel to the burning sands one day. Perhaps I should learn more of this land before continuing my journey."

Penny nodded, wondering what Clayton had in store for them in these caves. "I think Melika will check out the armoury too. It would be nice to have a good crossbow and maybe some better armour."

Melika's eyes widened at the thought of a full third of the kingdom's treasury up for grabs. "I would also like to look at the armoury." Smiling at the princess, she continued, "You'll have to excuse my mercenary ways, but you did ask for mercenaries."

Allyria: Rolling her eyes at her companions behaviour but with a small smile playing around her lips at the same time she stepped forward again. "Your Majesties, If you would be so gracious as to direct us to the armoury or provide a guide to show us the way we would be most thankful. Perhaps while we are in the armoury some provisions such as food and what not could be packaged up for us. That way when we are finished we have only to collect our provisions and continue on the journey to the caves to roust these raiders of yours."

Sarinah wasn't sure how she was doing but she was having alot of fun doing it...She wished sometimes she could be a bit more like Allyria, brave and forthwright about what she wants....casting a longing glance at Clayton who was paying absolutely no attention he was so intent on the game she sighed and then went back to concentrating on the conversation flowing around her so she wouldnt get lost when it was her turn.

Clayton: "King Korg smiles warmly at Rydia and Melika, saying: 'I understand, more than you know, having been an adventurer once myself. To be honest, I could simply have the royal guard route these raiders, but I have always felt that its ones such as yourselves in who's hands the reins of destiny belong...' He trailed off, noticing Shiori's disaproving look. 'Ahem, but I digress. Ah, Allyria, yes, we will have travel packages ready for you.'"

Allyria: Bowing to the King and Princess she turns and marches towards the alcove of to the side of the room and follows the guide into the armory. Deciding first in was best armed Allyria closed her eyes and drifted over to a row of daggers on the wall. Reaching out she touched a fairly simple dagger that had a black blade with a silver sheen to it and a simple leather bound hilt...the blade was warm to her touch. Deciding this meant it was for her she slipped it into her belt and cotinued to look around the room for armor and any other odds and ends she might lay her hands on.

Walking out of the armory sometime later she was laden the dagger she had found, new gauntlets for her arms that were the same black metal with silver sheen, much like an onyx stone, with highly shined silver detail scroll work whirling over the surface and inlead were ruby gems that winked and caught your eye.

She had managed to find the matching shield as well which was now strapped to her back and even though she said she wouldnt need it she had found the sword that went with this set of armor as well. It was very strange..almost like it was made for her...waiting for her.

Walking over to the packs that were made ready for them she picked up the one that had been marked as hers and crouched down with her back against the wall to wait for the others.

*Some time later*

Clayton's eyes would have burned a hole through Wes's chest, if looks could kill. Wes had just declared that he would use a wand of revealing on a wishing well in the center of town. The wand he had picked from the armory as a 'gift' for accepting the kings quest, and the very same well that concealed the dragon's secret passage, claiming that since he had not heard the 'kerplunk' of the coin he had tossed into the well, for good luck, he was 'curious' about the well.

After fidgiting with his dice for almost a minute and boaring a hole in Wes's chest (who was beginging to smile, knowing he had stumbled upon something...) Clayton reread the description of the wand for the third time. "...Reveals anything concealed, weather by natural, or magickal means, with NO chance of error." He quietly closed the manual and sat it aside, calmly saying. "As you activate the wand, *A DRAGON EATS YOU!* you reveal a secret passage, a shear hole that extends down into pitch blackness. From well beyond your vision, you hear a low, rhythmic rumbling below."
