Star Wars: Episode VIII: The New Threat

Dev Daymon

Dev watched the newcomer warily. Was this the Sith he had heard about? The one who wished peace with the Jedi?

He couldn't be sure.

His caution was taken from him by distant footfalls, and the high pitched whine of hovercraft.

"Blast. Stormtroopers. Keila! Keila, come to me . . ."

Darth Moridin

He emraced the pain from his wound, and channeled his rage into the Force. He was on his way to the Executor II, when he felt it.

Moridin . . .

It was a whisper . . . it tugged at what remained of his soul. He turned toward it.

* * *

He opened his eyes, and found himself flying his shuttle. There was dead Stormtroopers all around him. They looked like they'd been dissected. He was covered in blood.

He checked the ships chronometer. 20 minutes had passed. He had no memory of them.

His mind was cloudy and his head ached.

Suddenly the burn for revenge rose in him, and he found himself turning back to the planet.

He frowned, and forced himself, again, to return to the flag ship.

H spun his head behind him, his blade igniting in his good hand, but the ship was quiet. He could have sworn he had heard a snarl . . .

Revenge . . . I can give you what you want . . . submit to me . . .

He opened his mouth and screamed.

Keiran

he heard the voice over the comm. "Sentinel, follow the homing beacon to landing platform B. Wait in your ship until told to depart. You wil be met there shortly."

He set the course and followed it in. Still feeling nervous. After he landed, he went to put on his brown robes over his guantlets and checked all his blades' power moniters. He didn't know what was in store for him, but worried, still wearing the traditional off white robes under a brown cloak. He looked a lot like the old jedi, only with his hair cut short with a 2 foot long learners tail. He landed his modified freighter (looks similar to the Ebon hawk, but larger, and has a cargo hold large enough for 1 X-wing somewhat similar to the Jade Shadow). He wondered, at least he could be rewarded. He sighed, and walked over to where the landing ramp was and lowered it, and sat down in wait, letting the force of this lively world flow through him. It had been so long since he'd set down on a planet. He felt the animals and everything around him, it sung a joy through his body as he waited.

Jedi Master D'Rack Fran'tok

One hour before Jedi Fleet Depart

In D'Rack's chambors they stood. "The fleet is preparing to leave, master."

"Good," D'Rack turned and walked towards a wall, reaching out, he pushed a switch as he said. "come, Tra." As a panel on the wall opened, Tra's eyes grew in amazement.

"It's huge, I've never seen a lig..."

"This is the only one ever crafted...." D'Rack grabed the lightsaber and put it under his robes. "With good reason. The Ancient Order crafted this one lightsaber, it's aim to be the powerfullest 'saber in the galaxy." Flicking the switch agin he turned to Tra. "It relays heavly on the force, thus only the strongest in the force can weild it."

Jedi Fleet Depart

"Meet you at Yavin IV Master, may the force be with you."

"And with you, my Padwan." The commchannel closed as the Jedi Fleet jumped to hyperspace leaving D'Rack and the Shadow. "Time to go, computer set in a curse to Kom... What the?"

Warning lights came on and warning tones sounded. "In comming ships?"

With a burst of light hundrandes of ships burst into normal space. "Dracuurians! Here? This does not bide well at all!"

A small fighter craft broke of from the main Dracuurian fleet and chased after the Shadow. "I could realy use a gunner right about now!"

A vioce came over the coms. "Sssstand down and power down your enginesss, or you will be dessstroyed." The Shadow picked up more speed as it was attempting to exscape.

Laser blasts were hiting the rear of the ship, "NOW!" As the ship jumped to hyperspace, a blast hit the navigation system nocking of the course....

Keila

She'd barely made it to the speeder, certain it was hers when the Sith came from no where, lept onto the vehicle and took off.

"Blast. Stormtroopers. Keila! Keila, come to me . . ." Dev commanded rather loudly inside her head and through the forest surrounding them.

"Come.. run, sit stay!" She growled under her breath, growing aggitated slightly with the confusing commands.

Coming out from her cover, she eyed the other Sith warily as she made her way to Dev's side.

"What is it now?" She held her hands still but her saber was within easy grasp. Not that a healer should take a life, but sometimes these things were called for. And her lack of respect towards Dev was not intentional, but she was beyond normal thresholds. She didn't spare Dev a single glance, instead used her senses to see if he was injured anywhere while her eyes were glued to the Sith Lord.

Marius Lane

After moving for an hour longer, inching our way through a flat, lifeless plain, each inch of which seemed uniform to that before it and that after, I still felt the pull, that Jennive was close. It had grown no stronger and no weaker, but it was constant.
I turned to Raven then, deciding to ask then. She was more in touch with the Force than I was, had been for some time.
"That way," she said, plainly, patiently, reading my request before I could voice it.
I nodded, thinking for a moment of having her lead the way then deciding against it. She would find her way faster no doubt, but I sensed that danger was near, and having her out front, in plain view of whatever attackers might be near, was something I had no intention of allowing.
"Tell me as you feel we should go, Raven," I instructed, "But please, don't read my thoughts. It's a horrible invasion of privacy..."
"Yes, Master."
"Do you sense anything else?"
"Yes, Master," she replied. "Danger..."
We moved through the wind and falling water until, up ahead, I could see the ruins of what must have once been a city. Now, it was fallen rubble, both stone and steel, as well as a few types of plastic, all piled up like artificial dunes. No life, but in places, I could see darkness as gaps that promised hidden secrets became apparent near the bases of some fo these dunes.
I kept my eyes on those places, feeling around in them for danger or life, anything besides the emptiness most of them returned.
"To the left, Master," raven instructed, and I turned t glance there.
"Master...?"
I ignited my saber, turning to my right and deflecting the blaster bolts that came from there back at thier source. My aim was off, and the two bolts that had come struck the ground in front of the short, stocky man, who immediately dropped the weapon, raising his hands.
"Jedi?!" It was half-question, half-exclamation. "I'm sorry, I didn't know..."
"Who are you?" I asked. As I spoke, more people came from beneath the rubble. I realized then how concentrated I'd been on Jennive and the darkened spaces beneath the rubble; so much so that these people, who'd hidden above it, behind the dunes but in the open still, dripping with rain, had gone unfelt.
"They meant no harm, Master," Raven insisted. I noticed I still held the saber, as though i might leap at the man who'd recently fired on us.
Reluctantly, I switched the weapon off. Men, women and children came into the open, the light of the sun, what little light actually reached the ground here, maing them look like ghosts of long ago, which they may very well have been.
"I'll ask again," I insisted. "Who are you?"

Luke

Sentinel, permission to disembark, granted. Your escort is waiting.

Master Tynan stood at ease, but Luke wasn't. He flet strange. Like there was something he was supposed to be doing. Something important . . .

He couldn't put his finger on it. But he was beginning to feel like it could not be done here.

"Focus, Padawan."

Luke snapped to attention at his master's rebuke. "Do we know what we're facing, Master?"

Tynan shrugged. "We'll find out soon enough."

"They're Force-sensitive." Luke stated flatly.

"Yes," Tynan answered.

"Sith?"

"What do you feel, Luke?"

Luke stretched out his senses. He felt no malevolence coming from the person on the ship . . . no impending violence.

"I feel . . . happiness."

Tynan nodded. "Not something you'd expect from a Sith, i would expect. No, I think this is a traveler. Perhaps one seeking answers."

Luke nodded, and waited.

Hearing the transmission through his wristcomm. he told the ship to lock up and take care, make sure noone touched it.

He knew it was useless, but he didn't know what he was facing, hoping it was the council.

He stretched his senses and felt two of them coming he went off to greet them. His lightstaff hanging off his equipment belt, the other weapons were hidden.

Staring through his green eyes, Keiran greeted them with a slight bow. "I am Keiran Selkan, Padawan Learner, I am seeking the council," He eyed the young boy then the older man, "I assume that I have found it?"

Tynan

I am from the council. I am Tynan." He bowed. "and this is my apprentice, Luke."

Luke stepped forward and bowed.

"Welcome to the Jedi Temple."

Tynan eyed the man before him. "You seem to know something of our ways. Who, if I may inquire, was your teacher?"

Keiran closed his eyes and took in slow deep breathes, after a few moments he opened his eyes.

"I doubt you would know my master, he was a gotal, and called himself Master Driel'infir." Keiran bowed to Tynan and said "thank you, Master Tynan, I have left for far too long."

He broke down and cried in joy, and opened to the force letting everyone know his joy.

Raine

I opened my eyes, my concentration broken. I stood, feeling the swell inside, and amazed to find it was joy. Someone was happy?
Amid what was going on then, what had transpired lately, how could someone really be happy?
I shook my head, trying to close the Force off for a moment; feelings had been swarming around inside me far too freely lately. Like my other attempts, the Force would not be denied. The joy flowed through me uncontrollably, though admittedly, it was not so disturbing as those other feelings I'd been exposed to, been forced to suffer through both awake and asleep.
I needed to know what was amiss, though it didn't seem anything threatening was going on. I exited the room and felt my way toward the feeling.

After composing himself, he still let the joy he felt pour through the force, and then he noticed slight changes and he turned to the newcomer and bowed, "I am Keiran Selkan, padawan learner"

Jedi Padwan Tra Shin

The Jedi fleet, jumping back to normal-space was in orbit of Yavin IV.

Tra had never been to Yavin, but had only heard of the vast forests and the peaceful nature of the planet. It was no wonder why the Jedi made their home here.

On the bridge of the Super Star Destroyer Avenger, Tra stood along side Sara looking out towards the planet. “Tra, relax, this is our new home. You should be in awe of it’s beauty, and not so uneasy.”

“I have a feeling that not all as well as we think.” Tra said without breaking his view. “I just hope it has nothing to do with this Yavin Order, if the threat is as large as Master Fran’tok said, we need all the Jedi we can.” Tra looked over at Sara at long last. “Let us hope that Master brings more reinforcements with him. Our Fleet is too small to be of much use in an attack.”

Turning and walking back into the bridge area, Tra couldn’t help but wonder how the Order would accept the fleet. “Captian, you have the bridge. Keep me informed of any activaty.” Tra said as he walked towards the turbo-lift. “It’s about time for me to introduce myself.”

***

Tra sat down and the controls of the shuttle and set it for launch. “Here goes.” Tra thought as the shuttle launched, S-Foils opening. Tra opened a commchannel: “This is Tra Shin, Padwan of Master Fran’tok, I request clearance to land.”

A few moments went by, then “Clearance greented, and welcome to Yavin Iv. Please land at Hander D-14, and may the force be with you.”

And so, Tra piloted the shuttle to the surfice.

Looking at Master Tynan, Keiran had a look of surprise as he felt the sudden burst of presence in the force, "what is that?" He looked at the two and the newcomer. "There are so many ships, so large, I've never felt such a large ship before. There must be lots of people too."

Tynan

"It appears we're going to have more visitors."

Tynan closed his eyes and sent his senses outward. Another Force sensitive, and another whom Tynan could not recognise at first. He knew, based on landing space, that the newcomer would be sent here. Sure enough, he heard the response to the newcomer send the ship to a nearby landing.

"We'll wait for the newcomer, and then show you both your quarters."

Dev Daymon

"We must go . . ."

The Sith had offerred them his assitance. Indeed, had rescued them from the larger man. But how much could Dev trust him? Truth be told, he had little choice.

"And it seems we may have some assistance from a surprising source."

He called out to the Sith, who stood calmly, although he no doubt knew of the troopers closing on them. "You're plan?"

Keila

ooc: ok it's been awhile, forgive me if I dont remember all that is going on

IC:

She did not trust the Sith, even if he had saved their hides. She'd seen too many deaths at the hands of such creatures to be trustful of this one. She had kept her distance, but worry for Dev kept her waiting instead of finding a new place to hide.

She was very tired of hiding, "We need to get off this planet before more of them arrive here and make us dead." She attempted a little smile at Dev, but seemed to be a serious moment and was not returned.

"If we go a little further we could 'borrow' one of their ships.." It was the only idea she had, other than going with "death".. which she wasn't sure she really wanted to do. She still remembered quite clearly how her Master had died at the hands of one of these guys.

Darth Azraiel

My plan.

"Stand still & don't make a sound."
I closed my eyes & concentrated, calling upon the Dark Side to cloud the eyes of those approaching. Slowly my shape changed before the two Jedi's eys into that of the Massassi half-breed that I had fought earlier. I looked over at the wide-eyed Jedi and reached my hand to them. Slowly they were enveloped in the illusion of a very wickedly thorned plant I had seen earlier. Hopefully the Jedi would heed my warning & remain still and silent.

Jedi Padawan Tra Shin

S-foils folding into landing position as Tra guided he ship down to land. "I feel the force is strong here, no wonder the Order is here."

The ramp lowered as Tra started to disembark, seeing people near; he bowed to them as he approached.

"I am Jedi Padawan Tra Shin. I bring greetings from Jedi Master D'Rack Fran'tok and the Jedi Fleet, to which you have sensed its presence.

Dev Daymon

He worried him to be trusting of a Sith, but he had no choice. Choosing death for himself was one thing, but sentencing the young one to death as well was too much. "Besides, there was no warning in the Force. All had become calm to him. Serene.

He pulled Keila close, wrapping him arm around her.

"Steady and quiet. Center yourself," he whispered.

Tynan

"Welcome Jedi Shin. I am Master Jedi Tynan, and this is Master Jedi Raine DuVall. This is my apprentice, Luke, and another newcomer to Yavin IV, Keiran Selken, Padawan Learner."

Tynan gestured to each in turn.

"Master Fran'Tok informed us of your arrival. The Council will be pleased, to hear of the fleets arrival. Master Duu'Raan is in the Council chamber. If you would all follow me?"

Tynan turned and strode off.

He was pleased with the new arrivals. But at the same time it seemed a bit too fortuitous that they arrive just after the quest to find the lost Jedi had begun. It seemed too easy.

He felt no duplicity from them, so it wasn't that. It was just his old hunter's instincts. When you get what your'e asking for, look for the hook. What kind of Galactic sized hook was attached to this?

Before long they came to the Council chambers.

As the door opened, Tynan saw Duu'Raan waiting. "Ahhhh, the newcomerssss. I've been expecting you."

TYnan stepped aside to alow the newcomers to enter, then gently grabbe Raine's arm as she went by, holding her back.

The door shut quietly.

"I'm troubled, but I cannot understand why. The Force feels . . . pensive to me. Like something has changed. Like something is imminent."

He looked at her searchingly.

"Do you feel it?"

Kiela

Stand still and don't make a sound? This Sith was obviously a little crazy to want to stay here. Perhaps her connection with the force wasn't as strong as it used to be, or it wasn't 'speaking' to her clearly enough to warn her of danger. Whatever the case she did as Dev instructed her to do.

She moved to stand against him and put all her concentration on centering herself, remaining still and unseen.

Jedi Master Duu'Raan

He watched the door slide closed with mild surprise that Tynan hadn't followed the new arrivals. He noticed him grab hold of Raine to stop her from entering as well. Odd.

"Jedi Shin." Duu'Raan bowed to the Jedi. "And you must be Padawan Selken." He bowed to the young apprentice. The Padawan showed mild surprise. Duu'Raan hissed laughter, his serpentine head bobbing gently. "Massster Tynan'sss comm wass open. I wasssss lisstening."

"I welcome you both to Yavin Academy."

Raine

Pensive?
That's how it felt?
Plagued by dreams of destruction so strong I hardly slept more than an hour at a time, bothered by feelings that seemed to stretch halfway across the Galaxy, iamed primarily at me, it seemed, as no one else seemed bothered?
Pensive?
Yes, I supposed that was a good enough word, though it hardly seemed appropriate in my case.
But as I contemplated his words, it seemed there was truth in there somewhere, either a wave I was picking up from his own thoughts, or something residing underneath everything else, something I hadn't noticed.
I nodded.
"I suppose," I returned. "But perhaps our newcomers have merely... carried some stresses with them?"
Tynan had never been one to be strongly united with the Force, though he was far from the least Force-sensitive Jedi I had ever met; there was always the chance that he was sensing things that weren't what they seemed, possibly something I was sending off myself. I had enough ominous feelings to spread. I didn't want to carry this conversation further unless it was fully necessary, unless he'd tapped into something similar to what had been thrust upon me.
If the latter were the case, I felt explanation and warnings were most certainly in order.

Keiran Selkan

He bowed to Mater Du'raan, and turned to Master Tynan and Raine, opening himself to the force and feeling it's presence. "I would have no idea, I have not been on a world with so much life in quite a long time, I may have brought stresses, I'm sorry, if my thoughts press upon you."
