I hope this should be reasonably fun.

Well, this might be a long post, so settle in. First, the idea came to me last year that this school needed a sex club of some sort, and a friend of mine and I had a great time talking about it. More of a fantasy thing, you know, having sex on a stage in front of people in the interest of education, and such and so all. But the other day, I was surfing the web and found this:

Student Bondage Club

Holy shit, it actually exists. Soooo, I've talked it over with a few of my friends that are into this sort of thing, and I want to start one. Now what I would like to hear from you guys are some things that might fall into this. I don't want it to be just a BDSM club, I want it to be a club where you can come and learn about any sort of kink. My personal ones are Voyeurism and Exhibitionism, with mild interest in BDSM and Swinging, but I want someone who's really interested in S/M to come in and have something for them too.

So, looking at the websites for a few of these clubs
Cuffs
Conversio Virium
I've gotten some ideas for meeting topics, and some movie nights and demonstrations, but what did you want to know, or were you interested in when you were a student that you wish you had someone to ask, or someone to show you? How can I make this an environment that people would be interested in? My biggest fear is that people will be interested, but will be afraid of coming. Is there anyone in this board that's in one of the aforementioned clubs? I know NYU has one, and there's one more that I've heard of but can't find (though I haven't looked that hard) and just any advice in general on advertising for it, looking for members, etc, etc.

Thanks,
Melesse

Well, as to people being too nervous to 'show their face' at a meeting?

It would probably be in everyone's best interest to have to sign a statement at the beginning of each meeting stating simply that they will not talk about the meeting or the attendants outside that meeting.

Or something like that.

And the second rule of fight club is?

We don't necessiarly have a sex club but we have a GLBT. It started with that club, and now they welcome all kinds of things and talks and educational topics. They hold it like a "porn and chicken" kind of type deal... just a group of like minded people talking about history and today and saftey and how to and of course why... they have cookies and juice and whips and condoms. A different person every week keeps the minutes, another one is chosen to pick a topic of discussion for the next meeting, its really wonderful... it is mainly GLBT issues, but its expanding slowly.

There are people that don't just talk about AIDS and the dangers of sex and abortions... there are people out there that give blowjob lessons, and answer all those questions we come up with on these boards ... I know of a few that come to colleges and give speaches and they're awesome funny AND informative, do a little research on that... maybe you can have some kind of informal gathering to perk people's interests.

Don't have a club like that at UMass, to my knowledge at least. Too bad there isn't one. I'd probably go!
Back at high school, our GSA club was pretty interesting, at least while I was there during the second half of my senior year. We basically went around the room and had a turn to rant about what was going on in our lives, whether it had to do with school, relationships, driving tests, wisdom teeth, whatever. It was fun, but we always went on tangents. It was basically just a fun time for gay/lesbian/bi students and their friends (most of us were straight...or were we...?) to get together and chat after classes once a week.
