Yeah we do...unless you want to NPC her until we get someone to play her.

Perhaps have her not feeling well after the long carriage ride and heading straight to bed or something that would leave the rest of us free to interact and her free to join whenever someone is found to play her???

We might have to. Lets give it a bit longer before we NPC her, I need to go to bed anyhow!

lol...Have a good night! Hopefully you'll have a Lady Martyn when you wake up tomorrow.

I would like to play the Lady Martyn, if permissed! I will go read the IC thread, and then come post character info.

Committed I will be, though I won't promise every single day. I'm not online on my husband's nights off, and this week that is Sunday and Monday night. Unless one is on to approve me tonight, the soonest I'll be posting will be Tuesday.

Looks like this thread will be full of great writers! That's exciting! I've not been around in a while due to computer issues, the busy holidays, and a move, but if you'll search my past posts I think you'll find that you may enjoy having me in this thread. (Pun most certainly not intended, but left for effect anyhow.) I don't believe I've had the pleasure of writing with anyone listed, and can't wait to do so!

Thanks for considering; I'm off to catch up in the IC! :rose:

(Remembering that not all of my threads are wonderful, following the flow, I've a few favorites that I'll be happy to share. I was on the Desiree's Party thread, and the one-on-one thread titled Vanilla Latte are a couple of my favorites!)

The Lady Martyn- A widow (you choose her name), who has recently married the Baron, to escape a life of poverty. She does not love him. Formerly Lady Aston.

Delilah Aston-Martyn
A young middle age, quite a bit younger than her new husband, and old enough - even if barely so - to be her son's mother.
Appearance: With long, dark hair - wavy and full down to the hips, Delilah is in her seventh heaven to have servants to wash, comb, and place it for her as now-wife to the Baron. Piercing green eyes, full bust, trim waist, The Lady Martyn quickly becomes vain and obsessed with her own appearance.
Bio: Delilah grew up in a life of poverty, and since her own husband had died began turning her own tricks to get by. The Baron knew nothing of that life; their meeting had been purely by chance. She felt him smitten with her, and - knowing exactly who the man was - let him feel so. She took up with him, and married him. He wasn't horrible looking, and did well in the bedroom; that and the money was all that mattered. Her children - and herself - would have a much better and easier life on his ticket. She'd do her duty with him, the bedroom was her place to shine and she knew it, but no love lost were she to find pleasure elsewhere. And she planned to find it everywhere - as soon as she found the servants which were to give her bath, and take care of her hair.

After reading showdolly's posts and the pm she sent me, I've decided to accept her as Lady Martyn. We will be treating Lady Martyn as an NPC until tuesday when she takes over.

We'll get her mostly out of the way while we start by having her weary and wanting to wash off the grime of travel. She'll retire to the new chambers quickly after the house tour and stay there until showdolly can take over. Until then, anyone is free to play her in their posts.

Here's the bio for my character who will be the Aston-Martyn's(and, just for the record, I think that's hilarious) Chef.

Name: Phillipe Bascoigne
Age: 33
Height: 5'11
Weight: 165 lbs

Appearance: Phillipe is a thin, precise man. He has short, jet black hair, a thin moustache and piercing blue eyes. He has spent his life in the kitchens of the upper classes and, accordingly, never has a hair out of place or a spot on his uniform.

History: Born in Nice to a Chef, Phillipe has been around the kitchen his entire life. He trained first at his Father's side and then was apprenticed to some of the finer culinary masters in Paris. He has become an acclaimed practitioner of the Haute Cuisine style that is being popularized on the continent by Careme and other masters of the style that stresses presentation as well as taste. Working in the house of the Baron provides him with ample room, budget and staff to indulge his experimental designs and he takes great pride in being able to introduce the finest in French culinary artistry to the savages of England.

*giggle* I was wondering if anyone would pick up on that. I couldn't resist. :p

I was half tempted to make my character a Coachman just so I could occasionally joke about driving the Aston-Martyn's but I guess I'll settle for filling them up.

Mmm, but what will you be filling us up with DJ???

Wood Barkley

Here's the original bio of Wood I wrote for the first Stormswept heights:

Wood Barkely( yes it's a pun, his father was a mean drunk) is modeled after the title character in Lady Chatterley's Lover. At 37, he's tall, dark, not handsome, but his swarthy physical presence can affect women. His muscles hide a sharp, but uneducated mind. He carries a resentment toward the social betters he towers over, but is wise enough to know his place, even if he resents it. He prefers the solitude of the grounds as it relieves him of what he considers the fawning attitude of the other servants. When not at his work, he can be found in his crude room behind the gardener's shack or the local working man's pub.

First post on the way.

oops, 37, thaqt leaves room for past indescretions, lol

*adds it to the front page*

I'm so happy to have this started up again, I really missed it!

Just an observation but I got the impression from Beethoven's bio that her character was a bit of a flirt but hadn't actually had any experience with them? Perhaps I misunderstood.

You read right. Marie know well that she can use her femanine wiles to inspire men to do things for her, but thusfar has been only a flirt and a tease.

Ahhhhh, o.k. I see what I read wrong. I was confused by Subo97's post because I thought he had Wood sleeping with your character the night before. When I stopped being blonde and re-read I see I was wrong....some days I think my hair is trying to sink into my brain.

Give the man time. ;) lol

Wood is an observer and a bit earthy, fairly natural way for a gardener to be.

Speaking of gardens, I see Stormswept heights with a formal garden around the manor house, lots of symmetry and ornamentals, neo-classical sculptures, and a hedge maze (useful for outdoor trysts :p ) I also see woodlands seperating the manor house from the baron's local tenant farmers inland. Presumably Wood is also responsible to cook for fresh vegetables and herbs.

He's also very good at ploughing :D

We do have a chef and a team of kitchen staff at the manor, so he wont be required to cook. Feel free to describe the grounds as much as you see fit. I've only given a small layout of the house but everyone is free to describe the surroundings as much as they want... its too big a job for only me!

lol...But is it only the servant girl's he's ploughing or will he perhaps look to take some of his annoyance at his better's arrogance out on their lovely daughters?
