Dave looked over at Sam. " The whole town has gone nuts, everyone's buying guns and there are pentagrams all over town. I think we need to stick together." He said as he opened the bag. He grabbed his gun and slide it behind his lower back. " I don't know what the hell is going on. Last night someone tried to kill me and today isn't looking much better." He began walking to the door. "I need a smoke."
"Sorry about the door and yes" Jessica came inside Todd's place with her weapons."Just got sliced by one of those walking horror movie freaks" explaing her shoulder
Todd entered behind her, glancing around and closing and locking his door behind him. "You, too, eh? Had a few in here earlier, with a big-ol' freak with 'em. Bunch of Friday the Thirteenth wannabe assholes if you ask me, running around in hockey masks and shit. Shot this big ass they had with them, smelled like a rotting corpse, leave the room for a few minutes, and then it's gone."
He shook his head, and got the first aid kit kept in the kitchen drawer, handing it to her. "Some freaky shit. I think they may be using the old Peterson house as a Headquarters. You ever see the stuff they're getting delivered? I used to think they were computer freaks, you know, using the internet to sell off old surplus stuff they get cheap when companies close down? Now,...Damn, now I think we may have some underground freaky cult army uprising. Shit."
He sighed, and grabbed himself a Coke from the fridge. He opened it, and took a sip. "What I'm worried about is what to do about it. Local authorities might laugh it off, until it's too late. But then again, if we hide these weapons, call the cops and say you were assualted, because you're bleeding they might check the Peterson place out. I dunno, though. Seem preety well organized, but if they're a small enough pocket and the authorities get tipped off, they might be able to handle it. WHat do you think?"
Jessica nodded,"I used my katana to slice off a couple of heads and it stunk like nothing else.I also second your idea, hide the weapons and call the cops".Jessica had her katana and a pair of sai with her
As Dave went out on the front step Samantha headed after him.
"Pentagrams all over town...I'm glad I didn't have to go to work. The one on my door and the one on the ribbon on Cougar's neck were enough. I've never seen anything like this before, except in movies. Has this town always been this weird?"
Dave probably thought the pointless chitchat was strange but Samantha was trying to keep whatever little bit of normalcy possible.
After everything was resolved with the police, John and his wife tried to get some sleep. As they lay in bed, they realized thatt they were still too agitated to get any rest that night. John decided to find out what was going on around this neighboorhood. He went into his wife's office and worked on the computer for a while. After about 15 minutes, he walked out of his home with fliers announcing a neighborhood meeting at his home the next day. He went around, with a bat in one hand and the fliers in another, and slid them under the doors of his neighbors' homes. Maybe if they all got together, they could figure out what was going on and what to do about it.
Todd breathed heavilly, getting into character. "Dear God, one of my neighbors was just attacked by a madman! She's been cut! I think she may need stitches. Hurry, send an ambulance and some police officers!"
He gave the operator the address, along with some more fearful rambling, and hung up. He gathered up her weapons, along with his own, and took them off to the crawlspace under the stairs, easilly hiding them in among all the cleaning supplies he kept there. He came back, humming to himself.
"So, where should we say the 'madman' went? Peterson place?"
John saw Dave and Samantha in front of the house talking to one another, so he decided to speak to them. "Hello neighbors," he said to them, "I just wanted to know if you noticed anything unusual going on around the neighborhood lately."
"I just wanted to know if you noticed anything unusual going on around the neighborhood lately."
"Hell yeah I've seen some odd shit. Have you been downtown? Everyone's gone fucking nuts." Dave turned to face Sam "You want to tell him about the arrow?"
"You want to tell him about the arrow?" Dave asked Samantha after briefly telling John about what he'd seen in town.
"Well someone shot an arror into my house earlier. It had a note written in what looked like blood attached. It said we'd get to use our new weapons tonight. So what are you doing?"
John listened to what they had to say. "Yeah, some crazy shit has happened to me, too. I had my house broken into by a bunch of ninjas. If it wasn't for my bat here, my wife and I would probably be dead. I was thinking that we should join forces, form some sort of group to make sure that crap like this doesn't continue."
Glad to see players linking up...it is good you will need too.....Evil Grin
Todd and Jessica
This 911......what is your emergency??? Hello anyone there?
"Dear God, one of my neighbors was just attacked by a madman! She's been cut! I think she may need stitches. Hurry, send an ambulance and some police officers!"
Ah yes sir we are a bit stretched thin at the moment but the national guard is due to arrive in few hours....we will be there then...Oh dear god they are in the communications center too!!?!! (you hear the dispatch scream and sound like a few shots fired and through the head set [now on the dead officer that went down fighting another voice] Satan rules......(shotgun blast) Okay officers regroup upstairs lock that door and pile up those desks. Oh get all the fire exstiquishers, medical supplies and extra ammo to the main building move people!!.......buzzzzz........
The phone goes dead......The good news is the coke is still frosty cold.....the only good news. It is slowly growing darker on this fall day....
Jessica you lean against a kitchen wall and start feeling faint. Tired and you see that your shirt and bra are soaked with blood. The evil bitch crawed you bad. You need to stop the bleeding or your done.
One wounded and both alone at the moment. Next move??
Dave, John, and Samantha
John your wife soon comes up in sweat pants, sneakers and a tanktop. "You didn't take your cellphone with you and will all that is going on we need to stay intouch." She hugs you and greets the other two.
"Ah have you seen the news a bunch of black robed crazies wearing demon masks have taken control of the mall they have tons of people hostage....could be as many as 300. THey have all kinds of weapons and explosives and even shot up a news truck in the packing lot."
After a short discussion and looking at the paper you realize that many of the crimes meet up with the symbols or the symbols appearing 24hrs before the crime. Those killed include ministers, priests (a local Rabi went to the store a week ago and never came home), veterans, and Wicca good witches(a group of practicing soccer moms were all killed doing a protection spell someone was quoted.)
Those taken include pregnant women, young coeds from the college, and a few local government workers. No demands have been made and families and friends report "weird occurances."
Things are more like round of deadly attacks. Never mind the grave yards in every church have been robbed or vandalised.
All three of you notice and hear shots on the corner. You look out to see one of the police cruisers (was at the morning investigation of John's house) is taking fire from the woods near the road. One gray haired officer and a young rookiee are battling it out with their shotgun and AR-15 but are taking heavy fire and even have crossbow bolts in the tires of their vehicle.
Day ain't over and the night only makes it worse.
OOC: World fact.
National guard in my alternative US is 40%full time personel that protect their state all the time. The remaining 60% are call ups.
Even a small town in my world has a lot of police officers, but even that well can run dry if to much pressure is put on a force (hell some just stay home to protect their families in a time of crisis)
I promise more updates faster but wanted to give you all time to interact a bit and do a bit of roleplay.
Todd backtracked, pulling out the weapons again, and giving his new friend one of his loaded and clean M-1 Garand rifles. He sat her down, and took the First Aid kit, and began applying his somewhat poor skills in patching her up while keeping a lookout towards the front of the house.
"Okay, here's what we've got: Cultist uprising targeting the authorities, authorities busy watching their own asses, a few guns, some ammo, and a good idea when the fuckers were bnased. I suggest gathering forces with anyone living we can find, and trying to survive until the army or something comes around."
Your amateur bandaging isn't great but it gets the bleeding to stop on your new friend as she sits with the rifle. The situation looks bleak and your a few hours from dark.
Still have power, cable, and internet if you had then before at the house. Down side is your grandfather didn't have a lot of ammunition around. Prepared yes but not stocking an arsenal.
"Yeah, some crazy shit has happened to me, too. I had my house broken into by a bunch of ninjas. If it wasn't for my bat here, my wife and I would probably be dead. I was thinking that we should join forces, form some sort of group to make sure that crap like this doesn't continue."
Joining forces didn't seem like a bad idea, in fact Samantha was all for it at this point. She had no idea how to deal with these things and facing these...things...alone didn't seem like a good idea. As she nodded in agreement with John's suggestion she sees his wife, Elise, walk up behind him. Elise hands John his cell phone and gives him a hug before turning to Dave and Samantha. She gives a quick rundown of everything else that has been going on in town. Elise's statements are cut short though by the shots coming from further down the road. The two police officers are shooting into the woods. Samantha strains to see what they are shooting at but she can't make out anything in the shadows of the trees. She turned back to the officers just in time to see a bullet hit the older one in the face. Her mind seemed to slow down as it tried to make sense of the bloody mess that used to be a face. The rookie had turned to look at his partner in shock and didn't even seem to notice the spray of bullets that hit him in the back and side. Samantha could feel her stomach lurching as she ran into the house and towards the bathroom.
Dave turned as Sam ran for the house. He moved low and made his way to the cop car. Dave checked the cops for a heart beat but there was none. He ran as fast as he could to the house and jumped throw the door.
The bandaging is good enough and the bleeding begins to stop. Jessica doesn't seem to bad off and still able to fight.
You know the situation..What next.....??? Questions?
Samantha
You see both men drop with their weapons in hand...dying with their boots on is little confort to their loved ones your sure. You hear a radio call out to those who are no longer there to answer.
You hear in the backround the News continue on..."A National Guard helicopter was just shot down by rockets....perhaps shoulder fired ones in the fields near towen."
(the fields behind the old house.)
You watch Dave run off towards the police cruiser.
Dave
You move and the wounds to both officers tell you what you think before you even take a pulse. The older has his brains splatter on the road and the younger officer only has bullet holes where his back used to be.....their weapons are laying out on the ground. The radio blairs away asking for these officers but of coarse there is no one to answer.
As you turn to run out of the corner of your eye you notice....men in cammies, boots, and white hockey masks come out of the woods with rifles and bows.
As you run back for the house a wave of fire comes in your direction ripping up the road and the cruiser more.....as you run for the side walk towards the house and arrow flies and makes contact with your left shoulder in the back. You hit the floor and look over to see the arrow head poking out through your shoulder.
