It's always been like that; from the first day I joined. The only thing I've ever been able to figure out is that

1) my user nick has nothing to do with sex, kink, porn, erotica, etc.
2) I never ever ever put up arousing avatars/profile pictures
3) I almost never actually discuss my sex life/interest in sex/kinks, in personal detail on the boards. Discuss sex/kink/BDSM things in theory? Yes. Discuss sex/kink/BDSM citing my own experiences? Not unless there is absolutely no other way to make my point, and even them I'm more likely to not answer a thread than put my sex life "out there".

I did discuss my personal sex life a little more frequently when I first joined Lit, but grew far more private after I'd been here about a year or so, and started feeling oogy about it. I almost always think twice before posting anything, to double check with my own personal govenors and make sure I'm not adding anything unecessarily lacivious to a thread. It's partially just how I am, but the bigger picture is my not wishing to present a personna that is open to solicitation for cyber. In a way, the self-censorship is annoying, because sometimes I'd like to "let my hair down", but the practical side of me just can't go there. LOL
