Suit Porn

Ms. Breezy--you posted 5 of my all time favorites. YUM. And that neck. . . goodness gracious, I just want to bite that while I. . um ahem. Never mind.

If this is all it take, a thin tie and hair combed back....I am a SuperStar;)

...but only my Mother knows that:cool:

Welcome to the big leagues? ;)

Miles,

I've always admired how you dress to the right.

You are the man of my memes.

Inseamly yours,

Miles' Pants

Um as I said, film people? Let's see it! And Em, if Miles dresses right, do you dress left? You know, for symmetry.

Dammit, man! You had that up for all of, what? Two minutes? *pouts*

ETA: I've been remiss in contributing, but I've been busier than a one legged man in an ass kicking contest! Soon, lovelies. Hopefully, soon!

It should be working now.

You look good in a suit, Miles. Not sure about that combination of pocket square and tie though.

I like the combo. Bold.

Would be a tad much though, if he were to be wearing salmon pants. That is, pants with wee salmon on them. That'd be too much.

But then you'd be assuming he was wearing pants. :nana:

Miles gets credit for a confident move, and obviously looks très chic. I'm not criticizing ;) Mixing bold patterns is always a challenge, but they can complement each other. In this case, in my opinion, the tie and pocket square seem to be competing for attention and are a distraction from other details such as his impeccable grooming.

Don't mind me. I'm just chock full of opinions.

I'm usually not one for mixing patterns, but this one, I like. Suave, as always, Miles.

Wow, you put up a suit pic for Well-Dressed Wednesday and things really take off!

It's funny you mention the tie/pocket square combo, ppl, because I did a little debate myself when deciding what to wear. In looking at the posted picture again, I don't think the photo captures very well what the colors and patterns look like together. In person the red and navy in both the tie and pocket square coordinate pretty well.

As for the patterns, they are both pretty bold patterns and quite different from each other. Generally that's not a style choice I would make, but I did so on this occasion for a couple of reasons. With the shirt being plain white and the jacket being plain navy, I felt safe livening things up a little with both the tie and pocket square. Additionally, with spring in the air and rising temps, I wanted to project a bit of insouciance and joie-de-vivre (and any other number of words and phrases I probably mispronounce) that is a little more appropriate as the weather gets nicer. Incidentally that's also why I decided to go with the puff fold instead of one of the more rigidly geometric folds.

At the office I got lots of compliments on the tie, the pocket square, and the complete outfit so in the end I think I pulled it off. But looking back at this photo I can see where one might question the choice. Plus let's not forget it could have been worse: I could have worn jorts.

Oh. I see. Those are, um, well. I occasionally wear a very short denim skirt in the summer. Now I'm wondering if I should be ashamed.

In honor of the warmth and sunshine, hotties in sunglasses and suits!

Thumbs up!

I have to say, I like the mix of patterns.

I think denim skirts (jirts?) are completely acceptable. I have seen many women in denim skirts and thought they looked fantastic.
