Contrary to what sexually empowering shows of the past few decades (eg: Sex in the City) may lead you to believe. Women do not crave sex as much as men.
Now I am not trying to take society back to the days where we believed that women were incapable of enjoying sex.
Rather I am stating medical facts.
Men have more testosterone than women, testosterone makes you horny, thus men are hornier than women. Women with higher levels of testosterone do have a tendency to have higher sex drives, however high testosterone levels in women are a key sign of poor health.
So where did all this "women love sex as much as men come from?"
Well women enjoy sex once they are turned on and ready to partake in the act. This is why foreplay is so important. Women do enjoy sex once they are turned on. Women can acheive more powerful orgasms than men. But to say women are as or more horny than men, or to expect them to be, is foolish.
Prior to shows like "Sex and the City" and other shows with similiar themes, women who enjoyed sex were thought to be deviants. Whores, sluts, promiscuous, etc., etc., etc.,
Shows like these, and others dating back as early as the 60's or 70's gave women the ability to say "yes I do enjoy sex" without feeling as though there was something wrng with them.
