I had intended to make venison chili today but got busy with other things. Looks like tomorrow is chili day.

I won't fight ya for it. Lol

I'll make enough for everyone, but not going to force it down ya. The beer in the chili takes care of any wild taste.

Whoever doesn't eat their share, is leaving more for me!

I've had a fire going all day.. a pot of homemade veggie soup simmering and a caked baked to add to the warmth of the house.

I hate running my heater! lol

So far so good! My phone was doing the same thing when I set it on Wi-Fi, so it was something funky with good ol' AT&T. Thank goodness - I was going to have withdrawals before long!

Hmmm, that sounds pretty good! I still have the ingredients for pumpkin bread sitting out, but I guess I'd better put them away since it's not exactly part of a good diet.

I have a boatload of back strap I need to start cooking. And I have plans for making some jerky later this week.

And with a little luck, heading back out in a couple of days...

Grew up on venison when my dad used to hunt. My mom made great swiss steak with it. He also had sausage made and it was great! His neighbor used to give him some every year for the last ten or so... I'm going to miss that.

I'll be pulling some Opa's sausage out of the freezer this week to have with my blackeyed peas & cornbread. Not venison, but it's soooo good.
