No, I wouldn't think you'd be insulted.
Pie crusts are just like any other cooking. Takes the right ingredients, the right kitchen ware and a bit of practice.
Didja use shorting, lard or butter for your crust?
butter unsalted... it's my grandmother's recipe. I made it just exactly like she taught me. Mine never turns out flaky. Hers is a dream. ::: sigh ::: homemade cherry pie. yummy.
and I make a mean fried chicken... and chicken fried steak with gravy...
Actually, I can cook just about anything, so I don't feel too bad about not being able to make a pie crust. I just make cobbler instead. No pie crust necessary.
