I always love all these virgins coming out of the woodwork and voting.

Same same every year now sadly.

ya think:rolleyes: This whole thread is hilarious. I thought we had stopped submitting stories four years ago but I saw one submitted last year after Pedo Jackson died so I nominate bearlee. All previous nominations are discarded, no second is required and the nominations are now closed and who gives a shit anyway.

Well look who dropped in....a voice from the past. How the hell are you my friend?

Nominate Charles Petersunn

I'd like to nominate Charles Petersunn for most influential writer. Not only are his stories erotic, varied and fun to read, Charles has a knack for defining a fascinating cross-story setting. I can speak from personal experience, the settings Charles has defined practically invite other authors to write sequels or new stories to fit within the settings. Further, the quality and charm of his writing helps other authors to write in similarly expressive fashions. So Charles is influential in improving the quality of writing on Literotica, in inspiring other authors to adopt and explore new themes and in the sheer entertainment value of his stories. I'm not aware of any other authors whose body of work is consistently rated Hot.

Doing okay and so is Dawn. Haven't been over here for awhile but then figured it must be time for the annual awards so I thought I'd take a look. Same old shit I see, just different names. Hope you and the wife are doing fine!

We're doing great...

You should jump over to our Black and White erotic photos thread...and see for yourself! :)

I nominate alwayswantedto. Although this writer has restricted his stories to one category (incest/taboo) with one exception, all are rated hot (except for one story in loving wives). He is the only writer with two stories in the top ten most read list for the past year and has five in the top twenty-five.

Don't take my nomination of myself seriously. It was meant in jest.

Can the old timers enlighten us about this award. Were they ever more straight forward?

Well, I won it back in 2002. Was runner up in 2004. (back then when I wrote under the name of Thesandman) and 2008 as Many Feathers

What I will say is this, back in 2002/2004...I think the criteria was more fair, Lit helped decide the best authors back then, and then people voted on who they thought was most influential etc.

Until the criteria, nominations etc make more sense, and are truly about an authors writing, and not just the number of friends they can get to nominate them, or self nominations with several alts...I'm afraid it's going to remain a comical joke more than anything.

And from one who still enjoys writing here, and has made many good friends here because of it. I've asked not a single one of them to submit my name again until things change.

So...good luck with your endeavors

I agree with your sentiments and hope the contest returns to its former glory. There seem to be a number of legitimate nominations (e.g., Secretfantasy69 and Jaymal on another thread, and some others) but there are too many that don't seem to have the same legitimacy.

Maybe none of this matters because Lit straightens it all out anyway. I would imagine that this is the way it goes but if it dissuades writers like yourself, it's still a loss.

Don't get me wrong...

There really are some good and talented writers here, (and some actually nominated too) but one or two stories shouldn't rank someone as being "Most Influential", or having very few Red H's even...makes you pause and wonder.

As for the other yearly bickering...that's almost to be expected, sadly I just think all that takes away from those who truly do deserve mention. And then others (yes like myself) also decline the "honor?" Which it felt like it was at one time...now, it's again mostly a popularity contest, or an ego stroke (for themselves) more than what I honestly thought at one time it was truly meant to be. So, like I said...always interesting to sit back on the side-lines watch it unfold. I take more pride now in seeing one of my stories appear as best in category, and take pride in that when it does well.

As should we all......

Agreed! I believe that a few more nominations for myself would return this contest to its former glory. Another legitimate nomination for me on any thread would in essence retain it's legitimacy? It does matter in the end even if Lit "straightens itself out" so to speak, but it's not as big a loss as you think it is. In fact, I contend that there is no loss at all.

I would like to nominate Leto423 fro the Aimee and Will series. I thought it was tender and creative.

First off I’d just like to welcome two of LITEROTICA’S living legends to this thread. Both Many Feathers (aka the sandman) and bearlee are true Hall of famers! Welcome gentlemen (and you too Dawn).

Like my dear Gabby  I also came down to three possible nominees for most influential writer for 2010:

alwayswantedto
positive thinker
sarahhh

awt had a great year and deserves accolades for his good work. However, in the end, in my view it came down to the later two.

My pal freddie :D did yeoman’s work in 2009 and in any other year would be my #1.

But it was sarahhh :rose: who, against all odds, again became LITEROTICA’S FAVORITEST AUTHOR. The numbers don’t lie! Our readers have voted her #1.

So I, james r scouries, nominate the one and only sarahhh :rose:.

If she decides not to stand (as she indicated in an earlier post) I will then transfer my vote to my friend, the one and only, Positve Thinker - freddie :D.

Hi Jim,

I have Sarahhh here with me now. We've been partying. Say hi to Jim, Sarahhh.

"Hi Jim."

Anyway, Sarahhh just told me that she cannot accept your nomination and that you should give it to me, Positivethinker..

"Psst, Sarahhh, tell Jim what you told me so that he doesn't think I"m making this up, just to get his nomination."

"Thank you anyway, but I don't want or need your nomination, Jimmy. You should give it to Freddie, he needs it more than me, the poor guy."

"Thank you, Sarahhh. Thank you, Jim. I accept your nomination as the most influential writer for 2009."

ok, if you promise sarahhh :rose: said it was ok with her.

I, james r scouries, being of sound mind and body, nominate:

Positive Thinker aka freddie :D
