:heart:Next month will be my one year anniversary with Lit. I wrote five stories in 2009 and one that's currently in the 2010 Valentine's Day contest. My novel's being published as well. So Literotica has been a fantastic experience. And I'm a real person with no additional alts. I have a blog to check as well as another story site and email and Facebook. No time to be anyone else but the real sexy me and my sexy self.

...and you have a lovely AVATAR...

I think what Many Feathers and others have been referring to is the new people who only seem to have just joined and made only a few posts on these nomination threads. I don't find it at all unusual, since the link to this thread has been posted a couple times on the New Stories page. As I've said, in order to nominate (and later vote) for your favorites as user ID must be signed out.

Not accusing you of being or having an alt (although I'm sure that because you got a legitimate nomination or two, there will always be someone to point fingers and try to say it was you nominating yourself) but there may be some of those new IDs that very well could be. With so many people doing just such a thing (signing out alts and wreaking havoc or making multiple nominations for themselves and/or friends) it's difficult to distinguish who might be hiding behind an alt and who is genuinely a new user to the boards (but a long time reader to Lit).

TangledinYou

I nominate TangledinYou. It's hard to pick just one from the wonderful authors on this site.

Nominate Eldrige00.

No political or stupid, snarky comments either. You guys need to lighten the heck up.

I nominate for TalyisBagley. She's one of my favourites. I choose her over the others because her story titled 'The Talons of the Dark Heart' really cuts me deep.

nomination

I nominate August MacGregor. He makes me get hot and laugh at the same time. A rare talent.

Transverse

I would like to nominate Transverse. Her stories "There'll Always Be Music" and "And Now I know" really struck a nerve with me. They actually brought tears to my eyes, and this isn't a place I expect to be touched, if you know what I mean. You don't even have to like the genre to love the stories. Hope some of you will second me!

I've thought about it long and hard. At the end of the dayy it came down to one of three choices: PT, sarahhh or alwayswantedto.

I finally, after much deliberation settled on:

PositiveThinker :D

a.ka. BOSTONFICTIONWRITER

a.k.a. freddie :D

After all the abuse he's taken he deserves it. He deserves it for the smiles he brings to our faces. POLO deserves it.

Gabby

Wow, I don't know what to say, except that green is my favorite color.

Does this mean that I actually won something after haven written nearly 1,000 stories, SamuelX territory, and have amassed nearly 20,000,000 hits or will I be disappointed, yet, again (lol)?

It doesn't matter. To be nominated is a thrill.

"They love me! They really love me!"

I'm honored to accept this nomination. On behalf of Literotica, I'd like to thank Laurel and Manu for having a site where amateur writers can practice their craft.

I'd like to thank my mother for having sex with my dad, at least, I think it was my dad.

I'd like to thank my dog, Polo, the famous Rat Terrier.

For all those who have read, voted on, and commented on my stories, thank you. For all those who have yet to read, vote on, and comment on my stories, why not?

To Scouries and the beautiful Gabby, this site would be a boring place without you two.

So, just wondering, if I win, what do I win? And, just in case, is there a prize for coming in last place?

Since Scouries, Sarahhh, and Gabby aka Grand High Poobah are all the same person, the same person who nominated you as BFW last year.

That went over very well didn't it. He used you to try and make a joke out of the year end awards. The same thing he's doing this year.

Lots of Luck, you'll need it.

I don't know you, nor know your writing. I have no feelings about you as an author one way or another. You might be terrible, or you might be fantastic. I have no clue. So please, bear in mind that I ask this question coming from a position of relative neutrality:

Why bearing exactly does the number of stories you've published have on what you have or have not won? Shouldn't the relevent metric be whether or not those stories are any good? By your rationale Daniel Day Lewis shouldn't ever get an Oscar, and Vinnie Jones should have a pile of statuettes.

The number of stories I've written for this site have no bearing whatsoever. I was simply stating a fact, is all.

I take the whole thing in gest anyway, knowing full well that I won't win anything on this site. To me, it's just about the story and I've grown as a writer because of this site.

Thanks for your support. I knew I could count on you to ruin anything good with your shitty attitude.

I know I am not scouries. Do you know who you are not? I know you are not scouries or PositiveThinker. NegativeThinker I might believe.

Other than I know you are not me (and scouries and PositiveThinker are not me), I am not sure who you are not, you psycho-bitch drama queen.

Go pound oil.

Since I nominated Sarahhh, and she has declined the nomination and will not serve, I hereby change my nomination to PositiveThinker.

Seriously? Really? This is a real nomination. Wow. I accept the nomination. Am I suppose to accept? I dunno, I'm not accustomed to being nominated.

Thank you, Deborah.

I'm honored and thrilled. Okay, I'm gonna go now before I overstay my welcome. Thanks again.

Maybe for nExt year...

I was wondering whether anyone had ever suggested best series in each category and an overall best series of the year as categories for the contest. A lot of people on here have been complaining that individual chapters keep being nominated for special awards when they don't stand alone as stories. To score them, we could average the scores from all of the chapters of the series in each category to determine those winners, and select the overall winner from those. What does everyone think? Feel free to PM me; I'm always up for correspondence.

Yep -- well, at least along the same lines.

You might want to turn on the private message system from the user CP ;)

We newbies...

I always love all these virgins coming out of the woodwork and voting.

Same same every year now sadly.

I understand that you forum regulars are worried about new alts and friends of writers coming in, but for me, the idea of voting on stories I've been reading all year was the first thing that made me want to bother getting an ID and password for yet another site. The idea of getting some recognition for writers that I've loved and stories that have meant something to me...

That's worth the bother of having to remember a new name and password.

On that note...

I'm going to go with ingarlm for writer of the year. I could always guarantee to be happy if her name was on the <New> page. Many authors are good, and many others are prolific, but I found she was able to consistently be both.

I don't think that work too well. Many series are spread over several categories. I believe that chapters in stories are not accepted in theme contests, but they are in the monthly contests and annual category contests.
