The 420 Lounge

=( that's really sad to hear, poor friend

hrmm, why yes, I'm building a shelter for my reptiles :D

Not that far off Chikie. No one will ever suspect what you're doing. Even my hydro bill isn't worth red flagging for a jump in usage. The golden rule, say nothing, ever.

Hey Ivan, good to see you DoobieDood :D. It's so nerve-wracking having to wait this last little bit. Worrying if the animals got it, poachers got it, or it's just been a shitty year for growing. A friend just told me he lost 100 plants to poachers. Fuckers cut every one down to the ground and left nothing for him. Talk about let-down.:(

glad to be around, and waves back at chikieroo.

i was referring to in 24 more days, no more unsupervised probation and i can finally toke up again.

That is something to look forward to. Need to be more careful now and not get popped again. That would really suck.:(

it wasn't about weed. just some really dumb shit i got thrown in jail for 4 1/2 months over. but part of the deal on it all was on 1 year unsupervised probation after my release.they don't have you come in and pee in a cup. you just stay out of trouble for that year. but if a cop had a bad day and pulled me over for some stupid stuff, he would see i was on that and could demand i pee in a cup right there. i wasn't willing to risk it and go back to jail for a full 6 more months. so i kept my shit clean.
october 6th, freebird!

I know things are different for us here in Canada, but becoming active in getting laws changed starts with writing an Email to Congressmen and Senators, voicing your beliefs and concerns.
It all comes down to dollars and cents with politicians, so arm yourself with all the benefits it can provide your state with much much-needed revenues and less incarceration of innocent people, reducing tax dollars spent on housing them in jails.

Once the Gov't. is shown unequivocably that Cannabis has medical uses and admits it is harmless, things will change and life will be so much better for everyone.

You have amazing perseverance! Talk about a well earned celebration!

On Oct 6 we'll all light up at 420 and celebrate with Ivan on his freedom to puff again.

cool.

when you have potential jail hanging over your head, you find perseverance. jail wasn't that bad. just REALLY boring. and you go hungry a lot. they only feed you just enough to keep you alive.

i've been active in pro-marijuana laws, etc., since the early 90's.

what did weed do for you?

for me, it freed my mind, and then everything else followed. i questioned EVERYTHING. why are we here? where are we going? why is the world so fucked up? how can we change it? why do people believe so much of what they see on tv and hear from the government?

helped me to marvel in natures beauty , even in the most subtle things. like the change of seasons. some people say, i love to SEE the changes. me, i hear them and smell them too. like the subtle shift from spring to summer with the cicadas, then the shift from that to cicadas in the day, to katydids and crickets at night. then to just katydids and crickets at night. then to just crickets in the day and night.
the smell of the forest in autumn, a slightly musty mixed with a hint of muskiness.
hearing the whisper of snow falling in the trees in winter.
those just for an example.

Ivan, you have a good idea.....

Let's see why people here smoke. Before everyone jumps in and just says they enjoy it, dig a bit deeper and tell us What you get out of it and What it does for you.

I'll start.

I'm bipolar, ADD, PTSD, and suffer from cronic depression. Yeah, shitty life. I also have problems with my shoulders, elbows, knees, and back.

Besides the enjoyment part, most of the above symptoms go away. Of course they return, but during the in-between times, I feel human. Or at least normal.

The pain goes away and I'm a happy person. I can regulate the amounts almost to point that I can attend class, walk for exercise, and be around people and not get edgy. I think that makes this a better drug for me because most of the meds I've ever taken have all had side effects that marijuana doesn't. There are some that I will never be able to stop taking, but the side effects of those are lessened a tremendous amount when smoking.

There is another issue that I have not related to the above, but should be made unconstitutional.....

How many of you out there work for a business that employs workers under the age 21? Alcohol is illegal for anyone under the age 21 and yet do the employers test them for underage drinking? Seems contradictory to me. Uphold one law but not the other?

I am excited that there are others that openly share their love for the sweet herb! This is a great thread to subscribe to for ME :D

My experiences with Herb started when I was 14. I smoked hash first, red Leb, green Morroccan, etc. before I smoked leaf. That was about all it was back then. When leaf did start getting more abundant in supply, I found I met a lot of people of the same mind and made many friends. So Herb was primarily a social thing for me, from 14 into my 30's. I sold it, grew it, did everything recreational by that point.
After that, I found the pains that I was getting from injuries starting from 6 yrs old on were really affecting me and Herb seemed to take care of them. I had back surgery after a nasty disc blow-out and was prescribed all the required meds that they felt I needed to take. My system got so fucked up, i had to go to hospital and get flushed, before they destroyed too much of my liver and kidneys.
I haven't taken anything stronger than aspirin in over 20 years, and even then, rarely. The more I study Cannabis and its effects and uses, I'm astounded it hasn't been explored in great depth before.

I had no idea there was such a difference in one plant, depending on when it's harvested. Two identical clones grown the same, will be totally different in the effects it produces, if one is harvested in the early part of the harvest window and the other at the end. Each doing something different for the body and head.

I became an activist in making the lowly Marijuana plant, the plant to save the world. When you read my prior post on usages, what else in this world can do what this one plant can do?

Well said.

I've been slowly adding my story to the various legalization sites. You have to be really careful not to hit a site that is nothing more than a watchdog site. Our state has a bill in the works, North Carolina House Bill 1380, that is approaching the final stages and has a real chance of being approved.

I want to be a lab rat so they can do controlled studies.

from something Carver said eariler...

'why smoke'?

Hrm.. for me? Maybe I should tell the story... first jobs were in food service, pretty much a given in that world. In college, it was a must ;) In the twenties, it was another professional must. I learned the cutthroatness of corporate america. And now... to calm thyself. To bring a sense of peace to chaos. To be able to process a million zillion things at a time - another 'must' of today's life.

And something I was just giggling over. It makes me less cloddy. I feel more graceful when I walk. Something I noticed years ago *see earlier comment about corp america*.. heel's 15 hrs a day... Gotta find the grace somehow

And finally, because I can. :D
