The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Afternoon all!! (Or whichever day part is local to you)
quick catch up before I need to S3 and pick up some groceries...

so tiring and full of emotion as I got to cuddle my beautiful grandson and my daughter.
don't forget self-care, @Greylag happy emotions can be just as draining as negative. Be good to yourself so you don't crash 🤗
All that matters is Mum and baby are well despite the trauma thank the Lord.
truer words!! ❤️ to mum and baby!!
Also saw my elderly uncle and aunt, two cousins and second cousin and her husband and children
Life events can really be a catalyst for togetherness. Love that you were able to indulge when the opportunity presented itself
Not many guys in their late sixties get to see their Mom on their birthday.
😍 that you got to spend the day with your mom on her birthday!! So special
So home now feeling so blessed and great to be back amongst you friends drinking my pissy tea.
here you go... Greys_coffee.jpg
Is that anything like "Get down on it"?
playing rent-free all day today:
she's adorable!!!
miracles, my 🫏
I woke up with lower back pain (understatement from hell) and couldn't move and ended up in the hospital for a few days. I have to see a physical therapist and have too many bulging discs in my back. I didn't know they were there and must have irritated them in my sleep somehow. Since out it has been getting better but movements are limited.
How horrible!!! 🤗 Glad you're getting better. Hope there's some improvement every day!!
Thank you, B2. The past week has been like walking through a stressful dream :ROFLMAO: I am trying to be positive and hope I will be able to fix it without surgery.
Plan A
I hope the PT helps. Avoiding surgery whenever possible is best. You situation reminded me of getting a smart watch. I live alone but if I had a back situation like yours, who would know?
Same. I had a very embarrassing day at work a while back. Overslept - like a lot! When I woke, there were several calls and texts on my phone (that I slept through) from the office. My then Team Lead was very concerned. They all know I'm single and live alone and don't talk w/ family regularly. Lots of deep thoughts that day. Still no perfect solution, but does make you think about options for that set of "what ifs" 😬
I am making soup too.

Bringing it up tomrrow to my buddy who has bad MS and to his dad who just had surgery. I wanted to do a low key drop off the soup and not be too obtrusive, but the dad is making a big deal about it. I am sure the sambucca will flow and many jokes, tales and repeated stories will be told!
😍 Love that you keep in touch with your friend and his family. So often with chronic or severe illness it's not just the patient but their entire family and social circle that's impacted. 🤗 all around!!
Dads like to help. They know they raised strong daughters but still want to be close to you and helpful. It’s our way of showing love.
Parents are awesome this way. We don't always see this when looking from the child's POV, which is a shame.

One of my most favorite memories is my first "work lunch date" with my dad. I had just gotten my first "post college graduation" job and made a date to meet my dad for lunch. Two adults with grown up jobs taking time out of their busy day to break bread together. The meal was average but the lunch was one of my favorites ever!!

My biggest regret is from when we parted in the parking lot. I had an urge to give him a big bear hug before we went back to work. Only to chastise the "Daddy's Little Girl" that we were too old for such silliness now. So, back to work with no hugs.

No one could know that he would pass in his sleep less than 48 hours later.

Tough way to learn that lesson. No such thing as too many hugs. It's okay for love to be silly. Love freely and forgive often. Because time is always too short - whether we realize or not. 🤗 ❤️
They're letting her go home today with scrips
They also found four polyps in her lungs, benign, thankfully
😍 benign. I know you take excellent care of her. Wishing all the best for you both!!!
That is the last thing I want. I'm going to do everything in my power first and pray that it works 😄

Anyone else "Not really feeling it" today? I have a list of things to do, but don't want to do them.
And no, it's not related to the fact I had a good stiff drink last night! I just don't wanna!
Often. So I do the things that are "must" on the list (certain cleaning chores) or that benefit me (groceries) and bump the rest to the next day.

Popping in quickly to say “hi”. After 3 days of snow we ended up with over 24” (some areas of the state got 37” or more). I tried to keep up with the shoveling, but at times it was futile. Luckily I have a snow blower which took care of the heaviest work this morning. Question, is it normal to use your heated seats in your SUV for your back pain? 🤣 Hope everyone has a good weekend.

BSK - hope your back feels better soon
Really hope it wasn't that Heart Attack Snow
That's a real thing btw!! Thank goodness for snow blowers!
I've been wanting snow (more the hard freeze than the white stuff) but all we got today was rain 🌧️

Thanks for asking. It was wet and heavy, so definitely possible Heart Attach Snow, but I took it easy and paced myself. Only got to use the snow blower today, the previous two days where good old fashioned shovel work.

Glad you paced yourself. Hope your back feels better soon. Have to say, I love my Toro Electric Power Shovel Snow Thrower. I only have to clear my deck, front stoop, and a 3 foot (1 yard) strip in front of my garage door. Even so, some years it was back breaking. So I snapped one up when it went on sale. 😍

We haven't had measurable rain for about 40 days. Worst drought in 22 years.

I’ve sent those, but sometimes the snow we get would overwhelm them.

How’s the restoration on the Notra Dame coming along? Glad I was able to see it and tour it before the fire. I for one love Paris. Had great times there. The Paris Air Show is not to be missed for sure. Now, we had a baby in tow every time we went and I have to say, Parisian’s are most accommodating with ladies and babies! Front of the line, seats given up, etc…

As the song goes…”warm summer breezes, the French wine and Cheeses…put his ambition at bay…”.

Off day today (but go in late night…third shift again) so college football day in the hotel…more Owly MZ ;

I was there summer of 2023 and notre dame was coming along. Not finished but it was really interesting to see how they bright in craftsman to build it old school.

A beautiful building.

I was blown away by the Basilique du Sacré-Cœur de Montmartre (Bassilica of the Sacred Heart.) it was so beautiful!!

That’s a lot of snow!!

I started my blower up today (I start all my power equipment up on the first Saturday of every month to keep them running…)

I also use my heated seats to help my bad back!!
